The Beacon St. Vintage Cottage is a 1940's restored cottage, that has been decorated to reflect the charm and nostalgia of a vintage “beachy” retreat. Just 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and the center of town, guests can literally walk to everything: coffee shops, restaurants, the scenic railway stop, etc. This sweet cottage has a surprisingly spacious interior, and lots of light through the two large picture windows in the “great room”, yet is still super cozy with its pine ceilings and rustic fir floors.
We have just finished a fresh renovation…restoring it back to the charm of the era. It sports cheerful vintage colors and furnishings, is located on a quaint, peaceful street looking across at a forested green-space, and is only 1 1/2 blocks to the beach and the center of town! There is a private hot tub and spacious deck in the back yard for those rejuvenating soaks as you enjoy the evening sunset, and a large covered deck with leisurely Adirondack seating and tranquil views of the surrounding forest.
For those cozy, stormy days at the beach, the Cottage has a fun collection of nostalgic movies, books and music to enjoy on the vintage record player, as you cozy up to a fire in the vintage open-face wood stove/fireplace. Or, relax in the luxury of a steamy deep bath in the antique cast-iron pedestal tub.

Why the Owner Chose Rockaway Beach
Rockaway Beach is a quaint, old-fashioned Oregon Coast town, with cozy coffee shops, family owned restaurants and a great selection of fun antique, thrift and classic beach-town fudge/taffy shops. Rockaway Beach is the perfect location on the northern coast, being only 90 minutes from Portland, and within an hours drive up or down the coast from the other Oregon Coast popular destinations, such as Astoria's Historic Fort Clatsop and Fort Stevens, and Newport's Oregon Coast Aquarium. The northern coast is also a great stretch for taking in the many historic light houses Oregon has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We have always wanted to create a cozy little beach retreat out of an older house. When we found this little diamond-in-the-rough...we immediately saw how adorable it would be, by bringing it back to the charm of the era in which it was built. We put together the Beacon St. Cottage with "found" and "re-used" furnishings and decorations, creating a vintage "beachy chic" getaway., It's great fun to continue to add to the decor and "library" of nostalgic movies, books and music. It will be an enjoyable project for years to come. We hope you enjoy all the character and the "trip back in time" at the Cottage as much as we do.

I was looking for the perfect getaway vacation to surprise my fiancee and was so thrilled to find this little gem. Neither of us had stayed at Rockaway before so we were in for an adventure. This charming cottage had all of the amenities we could ask for. Getting in late and feeling not very inclined to cook, we stopped by the pizza place next door. This was some of the best pizza we had ever had. We would highly recommend staying here. The owners of this property are amazing and really worked with us to make it a great experience.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

"We stayed for only one night...but the bed almost entice me into calling in sick for an extra night's stay! Most comfortable bed EVER! We had such a wonderful time with our dogs -- it's so nice to find a beach rental that welcomes responsible pet owners. The Beacon Street cottage was perfect for us. The wood stove adds to the coziness, the vintage furniture is perfect, the bathroom is GREAT, and is roomy enough for two, plus the inevitable wandering dog :). The kitchen was perfectly stocked with all the right pots and pans for cooking at home, but there are also great choices for eating out. The beach is very close by, and the hoses outside the cottage were very handy for rinsing the sand off all of our feet! One of the best little touches: the record player and tremendous selection of albums, from classic rock to classical to show tunes! We loved our stay and will definitely return!

Nice, cozy, with cute furnishing. However we felt disappointed when we found the hot-tub/back patio sit right against the high-traffic parking lot of the pizza joint next door. This was not mentioned anywhere in the description and online photos "conveniently" left this detail out of the frame. Bummer. If you like privacy and quiet whilst hot-tubbing - I would look elsewhere.
Owner response:Being walking distance from everything and one block from the beach does sacrifice some privacy. We have lots of photos on our website showing all angles of the Cottage and the fenced back yard and are adding landscaping plants to increase privacy around the Hot Tub.
