About this property

A Romantic Flat in an Historical Building

Lupa Flat is a luxury and typical apartment located in Via della Lupa (can accomodate a maximum of 4 people), few minutes away from the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona. The recently renewed apartment is on the ground floor of a noble building dating back to 1760, and has been created by the Marquis Giambattista Collicola Monthioni, a great appreciator of the fine arts, Governor of Spoleto and Major Messenger of the Holy Apostolic Palaces.

In the backyard you can find an old fountain, built by the famous architect Bernini. It’s made up of a living room with sofa bed and dining corner, a double bedroom with decorated ceilings, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower. It is provided with Internet connection and wireless connection, Tv, Hi-Fi Radio. The “Cotto” flooring, the vaulted ceiling, a both modern and antique furniture of great quality and valuable tapestry together with the ideal location make this elegant apartment one of a kind.

Excellent location
The location is excellent and close to many important historical sites, restaurants, shops. Walking distance to so many important sites, safe, and clean neighborhood. The manager is excellent and the staff responded without delay to my questions. Includes a queen size bed, and double sofa bed. Dinning table sits 5/6. Small but nice refrigerator and appropriate little kitchen for breakfast and very simple “cooking “. Clean towels and sheets provided. Small washing machine also very handy. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Be sure to triple check your booking!
When I made this booking almost a year ago, I asked if the flat was accessible by wheelchair. I was told it was on the bottom floor and it was no problem. I contacted the "manager" of the flat 2 months prior to my visit again reminding them of the wheelchair. When my driver delivered me to the address, the door was blocked by garbage bins and could not open wide enough to get into the building. So at the last minute I had to pay an additional fee to the driver to take me somewhere else...and stay somewhere that cost me more than double what I had anticipated I would pay. The only thing this manager offered to do was to give me my money back....well, no duh of course I'm getting my money back..::but what about the bank fees to pay from America to Italy, the extra cost for my driver, the extra cost to stay in a hotel and the $30 a day I had to pay to get transportation from my out of the way hotel to see the Roman sites? I was offered nothing! Which in my eyes makes this owner a BAD person to rent from!

Great retreat in Rome!
We'd give the Lupa flat six stars for location. We were able to walk to everything and only needed a taxi on arrival and departure. Sergio and Nicole were very helpful. The kitchen is pretty tiny and limited for cooking at home, but there are so many great places to eat nearby, it wasn't a problem for us. I'd recommend the taxi on arrival as the street and apartment door are difficult to find the first time, especially in the dark. We would be very happy to stay there again.

The only thing better than being on a beautiful street of Ethernal City is being there while the setting sun hits the marbles of ancient Rome

Why they chose this property

From the very first time I stepped foot on Rome 23 years ago, I have felt more at home on this city than I have anyplace else in the world. There is so much natural beauty here that I'm still amazed every time I turn a corner and catch a glimpse of that beautiful city. I love the churches, the streets, the squares, the people, the restaurants but especially the peace, joy, and serenity I feel whenever I'm here.

What makes this property unique

Hands down, Lupa flat is in one of the best places on the whole world. I love stumbling out of bed in the morning, grabbing a cup of coffee, and waking up while sitting at a cafè watching the world go by on the square in front of me, seeing the incredible monuments, watching the colorful people and trying to decide which of the beautiful areas we'll go to today. I love the location of Lupa flat, I can be to all my favorite cafès or restaurants or stores in 2-5 minutes or so.
