Lupa Flat is a luxury and typical apartment located in Via della Lupa (can accomodate a maximum of 4 people), few minutes away from the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona. The recently renewed apartment is on the ground floor of a noble building dating back to 1760, and has been created by the Marquis Giambattista Collicola Monthioni, a great appreciator of the fine arts, Governor of Spoleto and Major Messenger of the Holy Apostolic Palaces.
In the backyard you can find an old fountain, built by the famous architect Bernini. It’s made up of a living room with sofa bed and dining corner, a double bedroom with decorated ceilings, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower. It is provided with Internet connection and wireless connection, Tv, Hi-Fi Radio. The “Cotto” flooring, the vaulted ceiling, a both modern and antique furniture of great quality and valuable tapestry together with the ideal location make this elegant apartment one of a kind.

We just spent 10 days is this lovely apartment and highly recommend it. The flat is just as seen in the pictures, which isn't always the case with rentals. Valentino and Sergio were so easy to work with and very responsive to our questions before we arrived and during our stay. The flat is a great introduction to how one converts a space from a several hundred year old building into a modern living space-- full of quirky charm. Add in the personality of the owners as shown by the decor and this place is a delight. You will feel like a Roman! One aspect we did not fully realize at the start of our staywas the incredible location. As it is on a small street and the surrounding buildings are high, it is easy to miss the "big picture" So when you stay here, be sure to get your bearings. Walk just a minute in any direction and you will find yourself on a main street. The Spanish Steps, the Vittorio Emmanuele monument, etc. are all easily visible. We never bothered with the Metro or bus as walking to everything from the Colosseum to the Vatican was so easy. We couldn't believe how easy it was to get around on foot. The little grocery store, Shopping Paradise, is out the door, turn left and then right at the corner. Restaurants are everywhere. Dry cleaner is out the door on the right at the end of the street. With the Parliament building just down the street, there are plenty of police about and never did we feel unsafe at any time day or night. The flat was everything we needed, but it may not work if you are a person of significant size (in either direction). Several of the doorways are quite short and the shower is small (but it has unlimited hot water due to the flash heater). The bathroom is en suite with the bedroom, so if you plan on using the living room sofa bed, it might be inconvenient, unless it is just for younger children. These are minor issues. Overall, this is a great place to stay and we look forward to returning soon!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I would like to thank you for your recent visit to our flat. It was truly a pleasure to serve you.

Lupa Flat is in the absolute perfect location for walking around Rome. We walked EVERYWHERE from here. There are great restaurants nearby, and not tourist traps that charge you an arm and a leg, but wonderful places, like Ginos!!! This was our first time in Rome, and we were worried about being in a safe location with our daughter, and this was VERY safe. The police and parliment are nearby, so there are police everywhere. We never saw one vagrant or beggar in our area at all. The owner is very accomodating. I locked the flat keys in the apartment and the owner responded quickly to let me back in. This place is also a great value. The beds were comfortable. The shower is quite small, so a large person (300#+) may have problems fitting in it. The flat is on the main floor, so no stairs, plus the windows are all covered with iron grates, so there is no fear of someone climbing in, and it is also in a security building with several gates and doors to enter. Very safe. The kitchen is small, but we didn't cook--we ate a Ginos!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks again and looking forward to meeting you in the future again in Rome. Kind Regards Sergio & Nicola

Lupa Flat is just steps from Piazza Borghese and minutes from Piazza navonna, the Pantheon and Campo d'fiori. Everything is convenient, a nearby grocery several wineshops, a fine bakery on via Scrofa , the via condotti for fashion and Vatican City within an easy walk. the flat is well appointed but with limited kitchen space. the bed is very comfortable, the hot water fine and plentiful, the WiFi excellent, and the door locks superbly secure. There is a nice local restaurant on the block and countless places nearby. Piazza Lucina is 3 minutes stroll and the Corso just 5.Wonderful morning coffee and croissant in P. Lucina. For a couple this place is hard to beat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

A friend and I just returned from a week stay in this flat. It exceeded our expectations in every way. It is somewhat small, but the rooms are beautifully decorated, in many cases, restored to some semblance of historical accuracy. For example, there are frescoes painted on the wall, raised wall moulding in a fruit pattern and what looks to be a roman arch about a half meter off the floor in the bathroom. Some of the doorways are a little low, as was probably the case in the original building. The kitchen is quite small, but contained everything we needed to have breakfast in the flat as well as a couple of light dinners. It was terrific to be able to walk to the Campo di Fiori market and actually buy things to prepare at "home." The wifi worked great and there were many nice conveniences for tourists such as a peg board for coats and bags beside the door. There was a large closet in the bedroom into which we were able to unpack all of our clothing, stash the suitcases and have room left over. There was also a bookshelf containing travel guides, maps and even a cookbook. Beyond all this, the location could not have been better: less than a half mile to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Spanish Steps (which has a subway stop); about 3/4 mile to the Campo di Fiori market and Trevi Fountain and Piazza del Popolo; a little over a mile to the Vatican and Coliseum. There was an electric bus line that ran just a block or two from the flat. The local grocery store was a block away. The finest gelato store in all Rome (Giolotti's) was about 2.5 blocks away. Good restaurants were 1 - 2 blocks away. This is a ground floor flat (very secure), so no extra stairs to climb after a day of sightseeing. Finally, the owner was very helpful and responded to questions or issues (our issues, there were none with respect to the flat) promptly.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This apartment is exactly as the photos depict and is delightful! For anyone afraid of city dwelling, fear not! There are three formidable doors that one must unlock before entering this cozy abode. And the window to the street in the living room is high enough that one would need a ladder to access it from the narrow, but oft-used street. We were there in early May, but I would imagine that summer months would be cooler in this flat than most because of its interior location. I would recommend the Lupa Flat to anyone who wants to experience Rome on foot. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go: the Spanish Steps are just five blocks to the east. The Pantheon and Piazza Navona are just three or four blocks south. The Vatican is also accessible on foot. It was so convenient that we could go back to Lupa for a "toes up" in the middle of the day. So great not to have to hassle with elevators, maid service, or any of the other things that go along with staying in a hotel. And yet, the place was clean and ready of our use. We felt so at home! We will definitely plan to stay here again the next time we plan a visit to Rome!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I was at this location with my husband. I was on a business trip + a few added days vacation. My main criteria were to have 24 hour Internet access, safe place in the center of the city, big enough for two people, with Roman charm. This location has it all. We loved our stay. Marcella, Valentina and Nicola were very efficient and friendly. I plan to be in Rome on another business trip in 2012. This is my home away from home in Rome.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

About the owner: The only thing better than being on a beautiful street of Ethernal City is being there while the setting sun hits the marbles of ancient Rome
Why the Owner Chose Pantheon:
From the very first time I stepped foot on Rome 23 years ago, I have felt more at home on this city than I have anyplace else in the world. There is so much natural beauty here that I'm still amazed every time I turn a corner and catch a glimpse of that beautiful city. I love the churches, the streets, the squares, the people, the restaurants but especially the peace, joy, and serenity I feel whenever I'm here.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Hands down, Lupa flat is in one of the best places on the whole world. I love stumbling out of bed in the morning, grabbing a cup of coffee, and waking up while sitting at a cafè watching the world go by on the square in front of me, seeing the incredible monuments, watching the colorful people and trying to decide which of the beautiful areas we'll go to today. I love the location of Lupa flat, I can be to all my favorite cafès or restaurants or stores in 2-5 minutes or so.
