  I believe I may have looked online at every one-bedroom condo in S. Walton before booking this one--and my research paid off! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The first-floor condo has easy in/out access to the beach, nice patio furniture (none of that plastic stuff) perfect for your morning breakfast, and a lovely view from the living room so you can enjoy the beach even in the rain. The bedroom and living room furniture are very comfortable, and the condo was overall very spacious. It was *very* clean. The small buildings on this stretch of beach meant that we weren't sitting on top of people at the beach--plenty of room to spread out. And it is geographically well-situated--3 minute drive to Rosemary/Alys beaches, about a 10 minute drive to Seaside and the local grocery store (Publix). Cole from Grayton Rental was very accommodating and easy to deal with. We've been to S. Walton many times, and tried somewhere different each time--but we'll be back to Blue Tide 3A!! (Note--Characteristic of all of the buildings along this part of the beach, it is a tall staircase to climb to get from the beach to the building. Be prepared to get some exercise!).

  My introduction to the beaches of 30A occured 5 years ago in Blue Tide's unit 3A, to be exact. I've been hooked on 30A ever since and this stretch of beach is the nicest - very clean and much quieter than some of the more developed sections. I saw a bumper sticker that says it all: "If you like 30A, tell your friends about Destin!" I really like the Blue Tide property as it has been very well maintained; in fact, they replaced the boardwalks and upgraded the pool area while we were there. The units are quiet, with a nice degree of privacy: no unwanted noise and intrusions from the neighbors. Yet, there is a nice sense of community and we enjoyed many meals out on the patio. We were the first guests of 3A's new owner and were very pleased with his efforts to make the place even better than before! The unit was newly painted, with nice carpeting and furniture. As guests, we truly enjoyed these upgrades. The one problem we encountered was getting the exact login password for the WiFi connection; here, the owner quickly contacted me directly and we had connectivity! Another big plus is that the owner has a local agent, Cole, that can step in and provide "boots on the ground" if needed. It was great working with all of them! As a gourmet cook, I found the kitchen to be nicely appointed and prepared some totally delightful meals during our stay - we ever threw a small dinner party! The refrigerator, cooktop, broiler, microwave, toaster and coffee maker (a new Cuisinart!) were very clean and in great working order. As a matter of full disclosure, I pack a box with key items that I must have: grilling tools, chefs knives and cutting board, favorite wines, and sundry items like a vegetable brush, garlic press, storage containers, sea salt and pepper mill, etc. While local restaurant owners don't see much of us, we manage to spend a fair bit of $ at Publix and Shrimpers (on 98 toward Destin). We find it very difficult to end our visits to 30A: my wife always cries on the last night. I thought that by adding an extra night, it wouldn't be so hard to leave. Well, on this last visit to Blue Tide, we were up to 9 nights and found it so hard to leave that even I cried! I'm thinking that we might need to return to 3A sometime this fall...

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
