In the Easton Valley on a quiet road sits a cozy, charming home. Wide plank pine flooring and big windows look out on terrific mountain views. Tastefully appointed and comfortable, the big question is whether you'll ever want to leave... but, nearby adventure awaits you. Hiking, mountain and road biking, swimming in the nearby brook and glider rides are all within 4 miles. Echo Lake beach, Profile Lake (fly fishing only), the notch bike path and tramway are all within 8-10 miles. Fine dining and shopping is here, if you know where to find it (we'll tell you!)...

Our family stayed here for a wonderful week of swimming, biking and hiking. The photos do not do the home justice. Waking up to the beautiful mountain view and gazing at millions of stars at night was part of our regular routine. We got to see a moose on our first full day there as we were heading to Polly's Pancake Parlor which made the kids delighted with hopes of seeing a moose everyday. The owners were the most accomodating I've ever rented from which made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. The home is very warm, inviting, and spacious. We hope to be back there in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have been renting homes throughout New England for the last 12 years and this was by far the best! Lot's of room - quality furniture and appliances - and beautiful views. Whether sitting around the fire making s'mores and watching the meteors - appetizers and margaritas at sunset on the deck - sitting around the large dining room table playing Scattegories - waking up to the morning mist over the mountains from the master suite - or a midnight bubble bath in the Jacuzzi - we couldn't ask for more from a rental property. Close to many great attractions and hiking trails - we enjoyed days of exploring the region almost as much as days lounging around the house and yard. Be sure to check out the local swimming hole and visit the Woodstock Brewery for excellent beer and half price appetizers from 3 to 5 The owners were very hospitable - answering any questions we had before hand and have a truly exceptional home. We didn't want to leave!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Four of us, all writers, set aside two weeks this summer to get away from the demands and distractions of the rest of our lives in order to focus on writing new work, editing old work, and other writerly pursuits like drinking wine and looking at stars. This home fit our bill perfectly, in that it had plenty of room for each of us to have privacy/solitude, but also the comfortable shared spaces of the living/dining room and deck for when we needed some fellowship (and aforementioned wine). The home was well-provisioned and well cared for -- clean and accurately described. Helpful information was provided about local attractions, and when the owners were needed to attend to a couple of minor issues (ice maker, grill), they responded immediately, happily, graciously. I'm from the area, so was lucky enough to see the property first before we signed on the dotted line. A great value in the summer months -- though the spectacular view must be mind-blowing in the fall. And of course, what a perfect place this home must be as a "ski chalet." I'm a long-time fan of Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, and recommend all visitors (between roughly Memorial Day and Columbus Day, when it's open) go and get some delicious breakfast. For us, the well-outfitted kitchen provided a creative outlet (something to do when you get stuck with the writing!) as we did all of our cooking (minus one Polly's breakfast) at home. I would recommend this property! If we didn't have plans to move our writing retreat to a different spot each summer, I bet we'd come back here.Did you find this review helpful? We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful spacious home that was even better than the pictures!! The house was clean and well maintained. My family of five was able to spread out.....the kids had plenty of space inside and we all loved exploring the large back yard and nearby swimming hole. The master bedroom had breathtaking views to wake up to in the morning only to be augmented by breakfast on the patio. The evenings were enjoyed barbequeing on the deck and making s'mores in the firepit. The owners were readily accessible and accomodating to our needs right down to fresh baked cookies awaiting us on arrival. The location was great with easy access to all of the major attractions and even an easy day trip into Vermont. We would highly recommend this place and hope that we have an opportuinity to retun in the future!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"This place is absolutely fantastic, magical, dynamic and peaceful! I can highly recommend it to everyone and must advise that I am an 'extremely' fussy person. If you are looking for a place to relax and heal from a hectic life style, this is the home to choose, and I must say, we immediately felt at home. The house and grounds are immaculate, and the owners are available at any time should you have a request. The online photo's are very nice but do not do it justice. Once inside this home, the beauty is completely overwhelming. There is a most outrageous Mountain view, and large deck to entertain, the perfect dining room with a natural stone fireplace, and warm perfectly installed wide plank pine flooring. The upstairs master suite has many large windows and a full mountain view, and a great jacuzzi and large shower. We hated to leave and wished we could have stayed forever. The owners were very responsive in making last minute arrangements for my family to enjoy a long weekend in the NH mountains. The house was quite spacious and very well appointed, with a large fieldstone fireplace and open main floor plan, very comfortable beds, a professional's kitchen, and terrific mountain views. We felt immediately at home upon arrival. It was the perfect launching point for a tour of the White Mountains and the Kancamagus Highway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.

We were two families of 9 people with 5 young kids from ages 2 to 8. One couple slept in the master bedroom with a wonderful view and the other couple in the lower level with a living room area, while the kids slept mostly in the main floor leaving the adults some quiet time. We had warm weather for the end of August, so we spent a full day at Whale’s Tale Waterpark, half an hour away from the house. The park is not too big which was perfect for us. It was easy to find the kids when they went on the slides or pools by themselves (even the 5 years old). There are slides for every age. If you come to the park after 3 pm, you can return again for a full day, any day in the next 7 days. Story Land has the same special; you can buy a ticket after 3 pm and return again for a full day. This place has a FREE kennel service where we left our dog while we were in the park. We did go back to the kennel in the middle of the day to take the dog for a walk. This park is for very young kids. Our 8 year old cousin enjoyed only a few rides, but he didn’t mind going again and again on the same rides. Echo Lake Beach is just 10 minutes away from the house. It’s a small beach but wonderful for kids. Dogs are not allowed. There is a hike just across the street, the Loop Hike, it’s easy for kids. Make sure you do the right hike for your group because there is also a steep hike there too. We ended up taking the harder hike, and had to return half way because of our two young kids. We had a great time sitting around the fire every evening after returning from our day trips. We also loved making steaks in the grill outside on the porch. Be aware of mosquitoes, make sure you bring repellent. We never met the owner but we communicated with each other through emails before and during our trip, she was helpful and answered all the questions we had in a fast manner. The only problem we encountered was lack of hot water when we tried to get 5 kids and one adult to take showers at the same time the first evening. Afterwards, we made sure that just a few people took showers at the time and it was spread out throughout the evening. Then, we didn’t have any more problems. I certainly recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+.

Our family of 8 enjoyed this wonderful open home. We ranged from 8 months-60 years old. Plenty of room to spread out with 2 livingrooms. Gas grill on deck was easy to use and deck chairs & table wre nice for outdoor dining with mountain view and early morning breakfast. Firepit and seating for those smores over the open fire. Bedroom were very comfortable and offered views from every window and the 3 bathrooms worked out perfectly. Kitchen has a side by side fridge plenty of room for food, large gas range, dishwasher, toaster, microwave & coffee maker. Plenty of dishes, cookware & eating & cooking utensils and there's even an extra fridge in lower level mudroom. Laundry shoots were our favorite though to get our laundry to mudroom from 3rd floor and 2nd floors. Liz & Jim though of every comfort when letting us use their house, plenty of cookbooks to try receipes, plenty of reading material, videos and special amenities in the bathroom and little touches here and there like fresh flowers in every room, that meant you were in a wellcared for home. Our 4 yr. old grandson especially liked the playhouse by the firepit and the walk in the woods to the log cabin. Polly's Pancake House within minutes of the house, great place to eat. Also, we saw Moose tracks by that log cabin and saw a turkey on the front lawn early Wednesday morning. This house is located near several surrounding small towns to shop, eat & visit within 10-30 minutes away and the Conway Train is only 40 minutes away. We also traveled to Vermont to Cabot Cheese, Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour and Cider and Syrup Farms which were only 1 1/2 hours from house. We look forward to returning here in the future. The weather was great 70's during the day, 40's at night and only one day of rain. Would suggest bug spray though, ticks are out already and mosquitos but that's to be expected in the woods. Fabulous trails & waterfalls nearby and in the nearby towns and along the highways and State Parks. Outside of Conway you can drive your car or take a guided tour van to the top of Mt. Washington. We drove our car, a sight we'll never forget, truly a wonderful experience. In closing we whole heartly recommend this house to everyone, It's very family friendly and comfortable and everything is provided for your comfort and the best thing is all the noise you hear is the birds chirping in the morning. We've stayed in alot of rental homes in the past 5 years and this is by far the best one yet.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
