"MOST EXCELLENT" Describes our stay at Casa Vista Grande. This place is great, and unlike some other units, the unit is bright and airy and the views will take your breath away due to the windows that span the front of the condo The grounds and pools are incredible so clean and well maintained and all the many flowers...beautiful So this is the place to go if your tired of the, "all inclusive", mega resorts where your hard pressed to even have an awareness that your in Mexico. My last trip was my 5th trip to Zihau and the FOURTH STAY in Jack's Casa Vista Grande. I've been home for a week and already planning our return. It's a short walk to the beach and many great restaurants. For us a great meal on the beach, a cold beer, and toes in the sand is absolutely the best!! Lot's to do or do nothing it's all good!! Thanks Jack for another great vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Three of us stayed in this wonderful condo beginning 3/9/12. Two in the master bedroom and one in the 2nd bedroom located behind the curved sofa in the photos. The 2nd bedroom is one step up from the main level and remains private at night behind a pair of sliding doors. Both bathrooms are lovely. The photos posted for this condo are an accurate picture of how beautiful it is. We walked a few times down to La Ropa beach and also into downtown Zihua. Walks are moderately brisk but not too difficult. DO exercise caution when crossing the road at the bottom of the hill where the condo is located because traffic zips by at a good clip. The view from the condo is very nice and includes some roof tops and small sections of the roadway below the condo. However, all the condos and residences on this side of the road would have similar views. Views of the roof tops and roadway had no negative effect on our stay as they did not block views of the bay or Las Gatas Beach across the bay. There is not a view of La Ropa beach from the condo. Saw and heard lots of birds including Chachalacas walking on tree branches and trails directly behind the condo. I was able to get some great pictures. We very much enjoyed sitting in the bar/breezeway area overlooking the pool areas. Indeed there is a gentle breeze that blows through the shaded breezeway - quite nice for those who do not want to be directly in the sun. Can't say enough about how fantastic our visit to Zihua was. We were fortunate enough to be in town during the annual Carnival Celebration. In the downtown basketball court/ town square were kiddie rides, lots of food vendors, games and stage performances with a multitude of dancers in colorful costumes! The variety and prices of goods in the shops in Zihua and Ixtapa beat the shops we've visited in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. Here's a fun thing to do - have a taxi take you to the correct bus depot to catch a bus to Barra de Potosi beach. The bus will drop you off at a roadside stop where you then pay a few dollars to ride in the back of a canvas-covered pick-up truck for the final leg to the beach. At the beach are thatch-covered areas with tables where you can buy a cold brew, a plate of nachos or even lunch. This trip made for a memorable and delightful day!! After our day trip we were happy to return to our comfy and cool condo to watch the sun sink behind the hills of Zihua. Our vacation was magical!Did you find this review helpful? This was our second year in this condo. The location is convenient to restaurants, La Ropa beach, shopping, the center of town. The condo is comfortable, tastefully furnished and decorated. It is clean and well-maintained. If you like to cook, the kitchen is well equipped to do so. Views of the bay from the master bedroom and living room are lovely and serene. We enjoyed sipping wine while watching the sunset from the balcony each evening. The owner is very responsive. He provides a detailed information sheet. The on site concierge is helpful. The security guards are friendly. The maid service is much appreciated. The amenities described are available. The landscaping and infinity pools are an added bonus. As others have mentioned, the path to the road is steep but inexpensive taxis are available if needed. We went on several tours with a guide, Juan Carlos, whom we would recommend. Overall we enjoy Zihua. It is small enough to negotiate, there are many good restaurants, we feel safe, the weather is perfect, and the setting is beautiful. We plan to return next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

All I can say is my wife and I loved the condo. Eleazar was fantastic and speaks great english and was always helpful. Also met three other owners at the pool. All were friendly and full of helpful advice. And once we understood the bus operation it was very easy to get around and much cheaper than the taxis. For coffee we found a great little place in Zithuatanejo called Zen Wishes. The owner was fabulous and the coffee was delicousOwner response: Hi David, I am so very happy that you enjoyed our beautiful condo and our wonderful Concierge, Eliezer. We are so very fortunate to own this beautiful condo in the heart of the La Ropa Beach area and be surrounded by such wonderful fellow owners and friendly neighbors in the great and peaceful town of Zihuatanejo. We hope you can return again soon.

All I can say is WOW! This place is just as fantastic as the photos! Zijua is a beautiful place to visit, the weather was phenomenal (in the 80s and sunny all week), and the two infinity pools give you a lovely birdseye view of the Playa La Ropa beach. All of the staff is helpful and friendly, and the grounds are immaculate. Taxis take no time to show up, and for 50 pesos (around $5) you can go just about anywhere in Zijua. Don't miss Playa las Gatas beach for wonderful snorkeling. Jack is awesome and gives great tips about local restaurants, where to go, and what not to miss. I will definitely go back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My family recently stayed in Casa Vista Grande and this was our second trip to Zihua but our first stay at La Casa Que Ve al Mar. We absolutely loved our accommodations! The condo is as beautiful as it appears in the photos! The views are incredible and the pools are sublime! Everyone we dealt with at the condo (and Jack the owner via email) were fantastic. Checking in was quick and smooth, Rosalinda the housekeeper was fantastic and the security guards at the gate were very helpful with getting us taxis at any time of the day or night. Although the condo is up a steep hill, the local centro bus stopped at the condo driveway to take us into town for about $2 for a family of 4. We can recommend this condo wholeheartedly!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We stayed the last week of January in this condo and had the most wonderful time. The view from the balcony in the morning as day breaks, watching the village come alive while you drink your coffee and nibble on toast and fresh fruit (did this every day). The fun we had just shopping for groceries and liquor at the large grocery store, a chore we were not looking forward to but ending up to be fun. The kitchen area in the condo has everything you need, we used the juicer everyday for cocktails (works great). We ate out every evening, our meals ranged from $80 to $130 this included a bottle of wine each nite, very reasonable for 3 people.Tangos was our favourite restaurant. The master bedroom with ensuite was fabulous. You can open the glass doors at night and keep the screened doors closed to allow a cool breeze and the soothing crash of the surf to lull you to sleep. The beds are very comfy and the linens are high end. The ensuite has a large shower and gorgeous countertop and sink.Lots of storage in the closet along with a safe. La Ropa beach is great place to spend your afternoons.Swimming, shell hunting, long walks or just catching some rays with that cold drink in your hands. We felt safe the entire time we were there. We walked to the restaurants in the evenings and to the beach in the mornings,We walked around down town to do our banking and also to do some shopping. We do not have one bad thing to say about the way we were treated by anybody, only praise. We are already planning our return visit next year (2 weeks next year 1 is way to short). Can"t wait.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Mike and Shirley, Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience at Casa Vista Grande. We take great pride in maintaining our condo and making it a comfortable home away from home for wondeful folks like yourself. Zihuatanejo has a very special place in our hearts and we are so happy you have joined us in appreciating this very peaceful and beautiful part of Mexico. We look forward to seeing you next year. Best Wishes, Jack

Tthe pictures don't do it justice. Accommodations and view are wonderful starting with morning coffee and ending with evening Margaritas. We truly enjoyed our 2 week stay and hope to return. Jack was a delight to deal with answering all questions promptly and his on-site manager attended to every detail. Friends who joined us were equally impressed. Taxi's readily available and easy to travel anywhere. Definitely a 5 star rating - so much better than a hotel stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from 2 beautiful weeks in Zihua, staying at Casa Vista Grande! It is unbelievably beautiful with a stunning view of the bay, boasting two bedrooms and two baths. It is in an immaculately maintained complex just a short walk from the beach, Playa La Ropa, where great kick-back restaurants are right on the sand! The condo is fully equipped for cooking and serving and also has a washer and dryer. The craftsmanship in the construction is amazing. The kitchen area boasts gorgeous granite countertops and the floor throughout is a work of art with inlaid stones in a swirling pattern! Cabs are readily available for other in-town destinations and are extremely cheap and reliable. I would recommend this condo to anyone wanting a fun and relaxing vacation with the perfect home base!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

When I first saw the pictures of this condo I thought it was too good to be true. Tastefully as well as comfortably decorated made me feel right at home. Some of the other condo's I viewed are stunning, but I would have felt as if I were in an art museum. The grounds, pools and people that work there only added to the charm of this location. I feel fortunate to have picked this condo due to it's close access to the beach, fantastic restaurants and easy access to the market as well as to town. Elvira's, Zihua Blue and La Gula all have some of the best authentic mexican food. I have to wonder what I have been eating here in the states. I miss my morning coffee on the veranda hearing the ocean, birds and town beginning to wake up. Jack has everything you need in this condo to make your stay stress free. Lovely people that live and work in Zihua that made my vacation feel as if I were getting the cultural aspect of how this charming fishing community thrives. Never once did I feel like I was in a "tourist trap" with high pressure sales coming at you. If you want a vacation off the beaten path of destinations and truly remember what it is to relax again, then this is a hidden gem to see and experience. It's been awhile since I have slept and ate so good. Go fishing with Moses, yes that is his name and say Hola to my friend Nahum Reyes at Elvira's. Great people that will treat you like an old friend.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed in both Jack's one and two bedroom condos at La Casa Que Va Al Mar 3 times now and keep coming back. The two bedroom is absolutely glorious and once there, you never want to leave. But, do leave and head for La Ropa beach for a day in the sun. We love this place and a month is never enough. Eli, the concerige who will meet you with keys, and Rosa, who tidies up each day are delightful. We've been all over the world and this is where we choose to spend our month to just relax and re-group. The condo is immaculate, the view is to die for and you'll come home tanned and happy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We are happy to give our highest recommendation to this beautiful condo. What a find. From our first contact with the owner to our arrival, everything was handled perfectly. We were greeted by the owners onsite property manager who was most helpful in answering questions throughout our stay and our maid, Rosa, was the best ever. We felt like we were leaving friends behind when we had to leave. We were blown away when we opened the door to Casa Vista Grande. This is the first time we ever stayed in a condo that had ocean views from literally every room. The kitchen is roomy and very complete with everything we needed to make meals and even a spare blender just in case. How's that for thoughtful? The beds were super comfortable with great linens and the bathrooms were just perfect. Just like the owner said, there are great restaurants right around the corner and we walked down to the beach in less than 5 minutes. Watching the beautiful sunset with cocktails from our beautiful deck was the highlight of each day. We are already booked for next year. Thank you so much Jack, you made our anniversary so very special.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Casa Vista Grande: In short, the stay at CVG was S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R. The building was impecably clean, the grounds were meticulously groomed. There are two pools there, both Infinity pools and were just right. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for poolside lounging. The driveway going up to LCQVAM is steep and if you are going in the hotter months, beware of the hike. You can hail a cab at the security guard shack. They take no more than 5 minutes to get these. It's typically 50 pesos to get to the mercado area. The condos have all sweeping views of Bahia de Zihuatanejo. Get plenty of small bills, the maid service comes everyday and there is a tip box for the housekeeping staff. There is Wi-fi everywhere on the grounds if you need to stay connected. All in all, we would definitely go back and stay at the complex. DanRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We've spent two weeks here and we loved the apartment. The pictures you see will help you have an idea of the place, but the real thing is more impressive. What you can't see is how our day to day life is intermingled into traditional Mexican architecture and how much attention was given to all the details. The pictures won't show either the fine work of the wooden blinds and their ingenious mechanism; or the terrazzo floor "a la Mexicana" with small snow white pebbles that create waves all across the apartment. If you pay attention, you'll discover the foam of the sea right under your feet. Small patches of white pebbles are arranged and embedded into the floor at some turns to keep the curve of the wave flowing. The round white couch is just a part of the design. The idea is that everything around you will help you see and feel the ocean. You should also know that the condo is very functional. If you plan to cook in Zihua, you'll find everything you need here. All the appliances looked new to me. Pots and pans were in very good condition. A very helpful tool that we found in the apartment was a digital English - Spanish dictionary. Unexpected and extremely helpful for people who do not speak Spanish. The last thing I want you to know is the smooth communication we had with Jack. He was prompt, very professional and made us feel Welcomed.
