This house is a perfect place for quiet family quality time together. Lots of space for those who wanted to do things like read and yet close enough to join in games and conversation. Very comfortable beds. Very beautiful scenery, easy to take a walk and enjoy the coastal mountains. Close enough to both the beach and small towns that everyone could enjoy what they liked best. My only semi-negative comment would be that the dryer doesn't work very efficiently so washing & drying bedding took way too much time on departure day. We will be back!

I was looking for a place to stay that would comfortably accommodate 6 people and would be close to the site of the wedding we attended, I came across the Forest Grove Cabin. A true find! The cabin was just as it was described. It was clean, comfortable and very accommodating. The property it sits on is beautiful with a stream that runs behind it. The owner not only kept us abreast of any information we needed before hand on the rental but he also keeps a book and brochures of the sites and restaurants in the area in the cabin. The cabin is close to many sites making day trips a breeze. With the equipped kitchen we were able to have a "family' dinner with the bride and groom and extended family. It felt like a holiday with the smells of a home cooked meal and the guys watching baseball. Thank you for sharing your home, we can't wait to come back and you can bet we will recommend your cabin to anyone we know looking for a home away from home.

Came out to your place to celebrate my best friend's 30th Birthday and we had a fantastic time. Upon first entering the house we thought WOW!!! The place looks spectacular and the pics although nice do not do it justice. It is very peaceful with a good vibe and layout. Upon arrival we were greeted be Gretchen? Who was very nice and recommended a fantastic place to pick up some dinner..... We had the best calzones ever from there!! The weekend was short and we hope to come back in the future perhaps using the house as a jump off point for taking the tillamook tour, going to some wineries, the ocean, etc. I would also reccomend this home for families..... The pond in the back is full of salamanders, the river crawdads and there is tons of hiking.....perfect for my eight year old and his cousins...... Although no kids came with us I am looking forward to a future visit with them along....... Anyways, thank you!!! We had a great time and look forward to future visits :)

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this home very much. The wooded setting is lovely with spectacular outdoor views throughout the house. We enjoyed several nice walks in this park like setting and relaxing on the decks listening to the stream was wonderful. Day trips to near by attractions were also easily accessible from the property. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. If you like woods, water and tranquillity as I do, this place is for you!

Our family stayed at this property for one week and enjoyed the homey and peaceful atmosphere that it provided for us. It was a bit further from the University than I thought but very well worth it. The beautiful scenery and closeby wineries made for an excellent getaway. The property is well maintained and there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. I would recommend this vacation rental for those who seek being back to nature, solitude and breathtaking views that Oregon has to offer.

We found everything as described and it had a very warm and homey feel. Loved the living room and kitchen and especially loved the quiet surroundings. Have recommended this to several friends and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a place with so much available - wineries, the coast and the rivers.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My husband and I consider ourselves fornuate to have found this wonderful home in the woods. The owners were so accomadating and gracious it made our week very special. We used all four bedrooms as we were the meeting place for Canadian, Idaho, California and Oregon travelers to convine. The house is well stocked with plenty of dishes and cooking equipment as we did several large dinner parties. We all took advantage of the WI-FI. We had planned to do day trips but so fell in love with the woods, pond and stream we found it difficult to tear ourselves away. Thanks for the wonderful week and lifetime memories.

Rental is not close to Forest Grove-about 25 minute drive away. The photos look much nicer than actual home and property. The house was not clean, lots of cob webs, dust, and mouse droppings throughout house. We checked out a day and a half early because of cleanliness issues. Owner did refund a half days rent but we spent a great deal of time cleaning the house while we were there. Owner remarked house was spotless prior to our coming but appeared to us had not had a thorough cleaning in a very long time. Sorry, but cannot recommend, although owner was very pleasant.
Owner response:My wife and I are totally committed to to our guests satisfaction. Unfortunately, sometimes circumstances are beyond our control. In this situation, we were out of town and our home, even though cleaned thoroughly when we left, was vacant for about three weeks. During that time, we have to assume the condition we left the home was compromised. We did everything we could to "make things right". We now make sure that our vacation home is inspected by us or a neighbor before any quests arrive to make sure a situation like this does not happen again...and it has not! Our vacation home is 15 miles from Forest Grove - in the beautiful coast mountains and is approximately a 20 minute maximum all highway drive. Regards the photos making our home look "nicer than the actual home and property" has not been expressed by any other quests - in fact all have stated "the setting/home is much nicer than the photos". Of all the guests who have enjoyed our home over the last almost a year since this situation, everyone has been very pleased with our home, it's setting and most important. the condition of our home. Thank you for your consideration of our Coast Mountain home.
