Everything was as advertised and we especially enjoyed the sounds of the surf and warm breezes during the evening. Very relaxing, comfortable condo and we would definitely stay here again, hopefully soon!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at Kelly's condo in May of 2011 and had an amazing time. The location is fabulous, right on the water and close to all the hot spots in Poipu beach. Kelly was amazing to rent from. My emails were always responded to in a timely manner. The condo looks just like the pictures and was very clean. The price was one of the best values we found (and I did extensive research) on the island. Total seamless visit. We even made friends while bbq'ing dinner at the bbq provided as part of the property amenities! The birds come visit on the lanai and the ocean view is great. Highly recommend staying here.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this condo the first week in May and had the time of our lives. The condo is lovely and contains everything you need to have a great vacation. It is in the perfect location to be able to do just about anything. Thank you Kelly & family for one the best vacations I have ever been on!

After driving around the other resorts it was clear that the Makahuena was situated in one of the best spots on the island. The view from the condo and surrounding grounds is amazing. This unit is spectacular. Everything has been thought of and provided. (blow up toys for the pool, chairs, cooler, swim fins, boogey boards) (side note about a comment made about the many "steps" at the Makahuena resort: I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived. After staying on the third floor, we had to climb a few flights of stairs each time we left the condo, but it was not a big deal for us.The view more than made up for the lack of elevator,etc) The Kitchen remodel is beautiful and very well stocked with everything you need to cook all meals yourself if you like. (We highly recommend Keoke's if you decide to eat out in Poi'pu) All in all, we were highly impressed and will definitely come back again. Thanks Kelly. -Jackson Family

We are so glad we chose to stay in 64119 for our Kauai trip! The condo's interior is beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The lanai is the entire length of the condo and sits just yards from ocean's edge. We felt as though we had front row seats while watching the colorful waves crash against the rocks below! We spent our early morning hours on the lanai watching day break and taking lots of pictures. The view is utterly amazing! The pool and jacuzzi are conveniently close,just steps from the front door of the condo. The property grounds are quiet and nicely maintained. We spent a lot of our time snorkeling and swimming at the beaches nearby, and used the boogie boards and beach towels that were provided and stored in the closet. It was a pleasure doing business with Kelly, and we look forward to staying there again on our next Kauai vacation!

This condo is outstanding. Wonderful location overlooking pool with ocean in view and nearby bluff for whale watching. Easy walk to beaches on both sides. Wonderfully decorated with all the necessities and then some. It was a huge pleasure to deal with Kelly Carter, an outstanding host, gracious and hospitable. This was our 5th visit to Kauai and in the future, our first 'stop' online will be contacting Kelly to book his wonderful condo again.

We had a great time at this condo. The location was great. We had childern with us so it was great to put them to sleep upstairs and have time to vist in the living area. They loved the games and the kickboard left in the closet. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The gift basket was great. We loved the cliff walk to the Shipwreck beach, and the Poipu beach. Great place. Barb

This condo property is exactly as described! Beautiful views of the ocean and just a short walk or drive to a lovely beach. The home is equipped with many extra ammenities which only add to the wonderful experience. The unit and grounds are well maintained and staff is helpful and friendly.We would not hesitate to return!

This was definitely the most amazing place to stay, I fell in love with it. Will definitely stay there again if we go back. I couldn't recommend it highly enough and there are no words to describe how amazing it was. I had the opportunity to meet Kelly whilst there and he was really lovely. We had a lovely welcome basket on arrival with fresh pineapple, cookies, coffee etc. I felt like royalty. It made the next place we stayed at seem like a slum lol. Everything was done to make sure we felt right at home (only wish it was my home). Website pictures are very accurate. The place was immaculate. It was very hard to leave some days. I loved the kitchen only wish I could have fitted the lovely oven in my bag to bring back to Australia for my kitchen. It was great having a washer and dryer in the unit it came in very handy. You couldn't wish for a better place to stay. You won't regret your choice. Cheers, Michelle

We stayed at the Carter Condo July 20-27. It far exceeded our expectations. It was sparkling clean when we arrived. It had lots of extras i.e boogie boards, snorkel equip., beach chairs, cooler, beach towels,etc that we did not have to rent elsewhere. The view from the lanai is spectacular. With our morning coffee, we watched dolphins diving and sea turtles leisuring swim by. After a long day of sightseeing, the pool provided a welcoming cool down before dinner. We were a family of six, 3 adults and 3 children ages 15,13,and 10. We never felt overcrowed. My son-in-law appreciated the internet hookup to keep in touch with his workplace. My daughter appreciated the full-size washer/dryer to keep pace with the family laundry. I loved the afternoon rainbows and the evening sunsets the best. Kelly is a great person to work with in planning a vacation. I highly recommend this condo. Nothing is left to chance. Kelly pays attention to all details. Thank you again for everlasting memories.

We stayed in this wonderful condo for a week in May. Often times when you see pictures of a place, the picture is better than the real thing. This is not true in this case. Everything was as you see it on the website. The condo was so nice and the view was beautiful! I've shown pictures from the lanai and my friends just can't believe how pretty it was. What really sets this place apart from any place we've stayed at before has to be the Carter family. We had never rented from an individual before and did not know what to expect. We were so pleased with the service we received from Kelly and also the helpful tips he gave us. 05/06/06-05/16/06 Many thanks to the Carter family for the use of their beautiful condo. Next to the Kauai scenery, their condo was a highlight of our trip. The location was beautiful and the amenities of the unit made it difficult to want to leave some days. The condo had everything we needed, and the beach and snorkle equipment was much appreciated. The Carter family obviously takes great pride in the quality of their properties, and their concern and follow-up for the satisfaction of their guests was remarkable. As first time visitors to Kauai, we found the guest information they provided invaluable, and often carried it with us as we traveled around the island. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Kauai, and again thank the Carter's for their generous hospitality.

Comment Text: My husband and I have been to Kauai several times but this was the first time that we stayed in this particular condo. It was definately one of the nicest ones we've stayed in. This condo is beautifully decorated and the location is excellent - very close to the water and you can walk to several different beaches from there. The owner is a pleasure to work with and goes above & beyond to make sure your stay is a positive experience. We will definately be renting this condo again the next time we return to Kauai. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!You will not be disappointed with this condo rental! The view is awesome, the people are great and the condo is well equipped with everything you need and more to make your stay enjoyable. Poipu Beach is just down the hill within walking distance and the snorkeling is amazing – I don’t think we’ve seen so many varieties of fish in one place and the monk seal was a real surprise to see lying on the beach! The sea turtles are everywhere and we watched the whales every morning while enjoying our coffee from the lanai. My husband and I, along with our best friends, stayed at the Carter’s condo for two weeks and the holiday was the best we’ve had so far! We had never rented accommodations through the internet before, so we were a little nervous about it, but after several communications with Kelly before we left for Kauai, I was positive we’d done the right thing and when we got to Kauai and saw the condo, we were thrilled. He is a wealth of information as far as island attractions go and Kelly definitely goes the extra mile to make sure your holiday is perfect!

My family recently spent a month visiting four of the islands over the Christmas season. We have done this before and it's true that each island has its own particular beauty. It is also true that the Carter family condo and their way of dealing with us made this place our favourite and we would return in a heartbeat. Other comments explain very well the abundant nature and amenities. Just let us add that the descriptions match our experience but what stands out is that dealing with Kelly is the most important reason for recommending the condo. Hospitality,integrity and value are a great combination and really set your mind at ease when you rent. Thanks again, Carter family. We will be in touch for our next visit. Our 8 days in paradise was made even more enjoyable and comfortable by staying in this beautiful condo. We truly felt 'at home' here. Schools of dolphins could be seen almost daily from the ocean lookout. The Carters are completely gracious and ensure that we were settled and compltely comfortable. All contact prior, during and after was very personal and kind. Mahalo for such a memorable anniversary! Aloha!

A wonderful place to stay in Kauai, walking distance to the safest swimming and Boogie boarding on the Island (boards supplied). The condo is beautifully furnished and had all that you will need. Watch whales from the Lanai, listen to the waves at night and see the sunset.What more could you want ?? The Carter family was very gracious and a pleasure to work with. Will be back.

We stayed in this great condo with our 4 kids (ages 7, 5, 3 & 3). Plenty of space for all. Great location - near Poipu beach (easy walk for adults - short drive for those with kids & gear - plenty of beach parking). Nice pool & BBQ area. We hope to stay here again!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and our 15th wedding anniversary. The condo was beautifully decorated and only made us feel more like we were in the tropical paradise we had escaped to! We had with us our two kids and my mom. We all were comfortable and the condo felt like home. The views and the sound of the surf from this particular unit was wonderful. Highly recommended. I have rented townhouses all over the US and Internationally. This one has all the touches of home that you would never get from a rental property. Kelly has done a great job setting up the townhouse. The complex has an exceptional view of the ocean, beautiful landscaping, central location to a nearby town and minutes from Poipu. The sound of the ocean would put you to sleep at night and gently wake you up in the morning. You could enjoy the view and sounds from the balcony or sitting in a hot tub nearby. I am Kari's mom and I agree 100% with her comments. I was so impressed with the personal communications from the Carters. They make you feel like new friends The condo was very comfortable, beautifullly furnished and had all we needed. The views are etched on my mind forever. Took my first helicopter ride and loved it! This was my third trip to Kauai and this is the best condo yet. I've recommended it to friends considering a trip to Kauai soon.

Our stay during May was great! Thank you to the Carter's for their excellent condo that has everthing needed to ensure you enjoy your stay. Being on the Southern most tip of Kauai was wonderful! Caught both the sunrise and sunset and watched Sea Turtles everyday. The crashes of the waves against the cliffs was spectacular! We will be back and will definately attempt to book this condo. We had the best time ever in this quiet, conveniently located condo which is in walking distance to two beautiful beaches. Since the condo complex is located at the southern most part of the island, the sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Everytime we went to watch for whales in the morning, we saw whales. The condo itself had everything we needed for a home away from home. We have alaready made reservations for next year to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and to share a part of paradise with our two daughters. There is so much room in this condo that everyone can have their own space and all come back together. This was our 6th time to Kaui and our most enjoyable trip.
