We love staying here and have rented many times. The place is great, comfortable, clean, warm and located close to everything. The owner is has always been helpful and accomodating to us. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet and we especially enjoy the sledding hill out back. Lots of places to just go for a walk. Looking forward to our next trip. We stayed at The Colony for 5 weeks last summer and Philip provided us with a wonderful unit at a fantastic price. We booked our stay based on information from the VRBO website, which we found to be accurate and helpful. The photos matched the appearance; the place was clean and well-maintained, the kitchen was well equipped enough to handle the groups of friends we entertained each week while we were there. Philip, the owner, was on site many times during our stay and couldn't have been more helpful. One of our favorite parts about the Colony was the excellent location, at the top of the Meadow Ridge hill, just beyond the sprawling Meadow Ridge complex and a short walk to the wonderful meadow; our dogs still miss their daily trips to the meadow and the visits from a local fox we named Dulcinea, who came right up to the pergola outside our balcony each morning and evening, just to make sure we were ok! We were so comfortable at the Colony that we were reluctant to return to Texas at the end of our stay. We definitely recommend a 2nd or 3rd floor unit to anyone who needs a clean, comfortable and very hospitable place to stay in the Fraser Valley any time of the year. Great cable, internet, commons area with grills and a porch, easy access to the Meadow Ridge laundry facilities (very clean and modern), easy drive to grocery store, great for people with kids, dogs, bicycles, kayaks, or just a great place to sit around a read a book or watch tv.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

I'm a single 30 yr. old guy that lives in Houston. I wanted to go to Colorado and do some trout fishing, so I did. I found this ad here on VRBO and contacted Phil. A real nice guy, easy going and doesn't live too far away if there is a problem or any questions you may have (I had no problems). The property is very livable and comfortable. I had everything I needed and enjoyed my 2 week stay. If I stay in Colorado again I will definitely stay here. This is a lovely location for a family with pets. Often, we must lower our lodging preferences when we bring our four-legged kids, but not this time. Our family of five and our beloved Maltese pups vacationed in luxury. And the owners went above and beyond to make certain we had everything we desired. If you are searching for the perfect lodging for your family vacation, no need to look any further. You will enjoy your stay so much and return home with wonderful memories. We are returning guests and again found the condo very comfortable, clean and inviting. It was a good size and was everything we thought it would be. We enjoyed the area and found the views to be fantastic. We recommend the place to others absolutely. It was affordable and worked very well for our family. Especially enjoyed the deck in the courtyard with a gazebo and barbeque.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

Our family has stayed in several of these condo's over the years..We like some units better than others ...personal preference ....they are comfortable, clean , convenient and reasonably priced...We recommend these condo's to family and friends.. Our friends have always enjoyed their stay. Our family loves to cook and the kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots pans and dishes....This is a place where you can curl up on the comfortable couch with a good book... As for the owner Phil ...we have always found him helpful and willing to handle any reasonable request.. We especiallly like that there is space around the condo's that we are not looking into someone.s window.. We bring our family dog and enjoy taking walks with her... If you are looking for long term or short term I think you will enjoy your stay and return several times...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

the complex is very nice with a social meeting place with the back yard gazebo bbq area where all friends and family members can meet to enjoy each others company and good food,. extremely clean and so close to winter park where our event was held. We took a grp of 20 people and all of us had a great time and we right next door toeach other. Floor plan is very open and easy to entertain. I will be going back with another grp hoping to stay here again next summer!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We arrived at dusk to find a filthy condo. Food left behind, overflowing dumpsters, filthy carpet, hairs in the bed, wet towels piled in the bathrooms. The owner, by phone, had us looking at 2 of his other units that were also not clean and also did not contain enough beds for us, and 2 units that were locked with no working key in the lockboxes. When we told him this was not acceptable and we would like a refund, he exploded, yelling at me over the phone, stating that we were too picky. We did not want our 4 tired children laying their heads on those filthy sheets. He refuses to refund a penny of our money. He did not lose any rental business by anticipating our stay, as he had these 5 units available. He is ignoring our emails.Owner response: We never know what problems people bring with them, we do understand their need to get away from them and relax for a while. That is why we are here and we try to accommodate peoples needs the best that we can and in a standard common in the industry. In this case we received a call at 9:30 PM and we immediately called housekeeping and they were willing to come over and do what ever was necessary to make our guest happy, even at that hour. They arrived with a Sheriffs Deputy just to make sure there was an independent view point present. Housekeeping stated that the condo was cleaned completely and thoroughly prior to the guests arrival, and they found no evidence of the complaints that the guest had expressed in their unit. The Deputy also found no basis for the guests complaints in their unit.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Everything at the property is exactly as promised in the listing and the unit was very clean. The short walk to the bus was the topper on a great weekend. I hope one of Phillip's properties are available the next time I visit Winter Park.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

About the owner: I am an avid skier from way back, and when the kids came along, I took the time to teach them myself. What a wonderful sport skiing is, clean air, beautiful skies and the best scenery in the world. The kids later taught me to board, and I am sure glad I took the time to learn. Our favorite summer camping spot is also nearby, and the outdoor recreational activities are as extensive as the land itself. This is a marvelous valley with 14,000 ft. mountain ranges on both sides. So I offer you the same place where my family goes and returns week after week. If you are not much of an outdoors person, that works too. Lots of things to keep you occupied while the others are out and about. For me this area is like a deep breath of fresh air, I always return a much better person somehow it seems. So will it be so, for you!

This is the closest major Ski Area & Recreation Area to the Denver Area, and it has a down to earth personality to it. Lots of friendly local people around, and they add a flavor to the area that you just don't find in other places. It seems like I always run into people I know when I come here, we all must just gravitate to the same places for all the right reasons. Winter Park is a world Class Ski Resort. Our units are located on a plateau that overlooks the ski area, and has 360 degree view of the surrounding 12,000 ft. mountain ranges and the valley below. It's just a wonderful setting, a world class setting. Lots of lakes, streams and summer activities.......
