We recently stayed in the home with a family of seven and really enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics and had plenty of space. There was plenty of space for the kids in their rooms and we had great access to a park close by. We appreciated the closeness of BART and the bus stop as well as a grocery store. It is located right at an off ramp from the highway so there is easy access to the highway as well (even though it is a little loud with traffic noise). Overall a great time!

We recently stayed here as a family of seven and had a great time. There was plenty of room and the kitchen was well stocked with the basics. With kids we really appreciated a park close by and even a dog park too. We had great acess to BART and the bus as well as places to buy groceries. The house is located very closely to the highway which makes it a little noisey, but overall a great experience.

This apartment was great for two couple spending a few days together in Oakland. It's a beautiful old home that's been efficiently furnished, with plenty of space to hang out in the cute back deck, at the dining room table, or to watch some TV. The beds are not great, and the kitchen lacks some significant items (sharp knives, cutting boards, coffee filters), but all in all we were very satisfied with our visit. The location was also very easy to walk to the Rockridge Bart or to Telegraph Avenue.

Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Owner response: Yes the back deck is lovely in the summer with the black walnut and apple trees and bougainvillea, the mattresses are new and there is one glass cutting board ,one plastic and one pull out wood cutting board, easy to miss I need to mention in the house notes! numerous cutting knives and one very sharp.

We stayed in the bungalow for 1 week while visiting our daughter and her family in Oakland. The house was very neat and clean and adequately equipped. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee/breakfast in the sunny kitchen or on the deck. We had the pleasure of meeting Judy - a very pleasant and accommodating lady. Rockridge is a great neighborhood for strolling, shopping and eating. Our only request is for more hand towels and wash cloths in the bathroom. We hope to return!

We stayed at the bungalow for 2 weeks while recovery from surgery. It's a bright, warm, sunny bungalow in a great location! The walks in the neighborhood and nearby college ave market was a plus! Everything was in working order and provided for our needs. Easy access to highway was nice (although it is a busy intersection so there is traffic noise, but you get used to it!). Having the garage to park the car in was an added plus so we didn't have to look for street parking. The upper bedroom is warm, and sunny and oh so lovely! Beds were comfy and Judy was great to work with answering our many questions and helping us out if we had any immediate needs. The back deck was nice to have for privacy, just wish I could have seen the trees in bloom! Overall a nice place to stay!

Owner response: Thanks Sally! It was great to meet you two. sounds like you really enjoyed your visit to Rockridge! You'll be happy to know that we are installing double pane windows

We enjoyed very much our stay at this charming bungalow. It is well appointed and tastefully decorated. The furniture and beds are comfortable and the house offers everything one needs. We particularly liked the outside deck and having morning coffee on it. It was perfect for three adults from Rhode Island who wanted the comforts of home. The owner is accomodating and very busy like from booking to return of security deposit. THANK YOU Judy for making this such a pleasant experience.

We were 2 families (4 adults and 3 kids) visiting sfo for sight seeing and vacationing. Since i am very new to VRBO, Judy was very helpful and patient to explain and guide me through the booking process. The property was well maintained, clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. Commutation was much easier as the property was right off from hwy 24. grocery stores were available near by in college ave. The house was kid friendly and my wife definitely appreciated the availability of high chair and "pack and play". I was glad that the car was secure as there was a garage. The property was so quite even though it was in a major intersection. We also appreciate Judy as she was so good sending the required information and money refund in a timely manner. suggestions: Kitchen can be bit more equipped, Bed in the master bedroom is too noisy, Laundry room could be bit more lit, renters should be able to reach the owner of the property or another responsible person at any time of the day or night for any quick enquires or emergencies. Near by area we visited: Frog park (right behind the property) rate: 3/5, Childrens Fairyland (with in 10 miles) rate: 5/5 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt right at home. So will defenitly return to this property next time we visit SFO.

Owner response: Just to let you know , after your comment we purchased a new box quiet bed frame. Didn't know it was noisy until I read your comment! Thank you !!

We had a great stay at this cute Rock Ridge bungalow. The house is darling and the back deck (the picture doesn't do it justice) is surprisingly quiet given the house is on a busy street. It's a kid-friendly place and wonderfully close to a terrific park. A lovely neighborhood stroll up to the restaurants, shops, cafes, etc on College Ave. Though it wasn't a hindrance for us, we wished the kitchen were better equipped. It has some basics - but would benefit from better knives (no paring knife), vegetable peeler, cutting boards, etc.

Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

Owner response: Thank you Sarah!, We appreciate knowing what is needed in the bungalow. We purchased a good paring knife, cutting board(tempered glass) and vegetable peeler! Yes the bougainvillea, walnut and apple trees are especially nice in. the summer when sitting out back.

My husband and I were visiting our daughter in Oakland and we wanted to stay nearby. There aren't many hotels in Oakland so we wanted to try renting a house. It worked out great. It was in a nice neighborhood where we could walk to a coffee shop, etc. It was centrally located for the places we wanted to get to (right by the entrance to the highway). The mattress in the up stair bedroom was wonderful. My husband and I both agree on that. We didn't end up using the kitchen other than for coffee but it was well stocked. We had a great time overall and will rent a house again next year.

Exactly as described in the ad. Very roomy and well stocked. We found this perfect for having our own space and yet wonderfully easy access to places around Oakland. So much better than a hotel and all of the benefits of home. IT is close to the freeway which is good for access, bad for noise....... Judy was great to work with. Highly recommend.

We found the Rockridge Bungalow I to be very comfortable, clean, and spacious. The location was great for our visit since it was in walking distance to our son's house, as well as stores and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated being able to keep our car in the garage at night, rather than worry about street parking and street cleaning. There was a bit of traffic noise in the mornings, but that would be expected for a house in the city. Overall we had a very nice visit.

What a terrific experience! By the end of our first day here I’d already told my husband that we’d be staying at this same location again on our next visit to the area, and I’ve already suggested it as a terrific option for my friend’s parents to stay at when they’re visiting her (she stopped by for a visit and completely agreed). Judy was very warm and responsive to our questions and requests, making the process very comfortable. And the bungalow itself offered lots of space, a cozy atmosphere, a user-friendly kitchen, and a “home away from home” that my children enjoyed exploring. We were especially grateful that Judy provided both a Pack n Play and a high chair, making traveling with an infant much less of a hassle! I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone traveling to the East Bay … unless they’re looking at the same dates as we are for our next trip!

My husband and I come to Oakland for work, sometimes with the whole family in tow. We've stayed at this home on several occasions with our two boys. The proximity to Frog Park is great--and the path is a fun place for scootering about. Being able to walk to the commercial district of Rockridge is another bonus. The house itself is comfortable and an enjoyable place to stay. We are planning another stay at the house this fall.

Owner response: Thanks Jennifer! Yes the proximity to Frog Park is one of the special benefits of the home

We found this charming and authentic bungalow style home to be just as described in every way from both the VRBO listing information and our follow-up phone inquiry with Judy, the local property owner. In addition to public transport, getting around the neighborhood by car or by foot was a snap. Exploring the many nearby shops and unique eateries was fun too. If you're from the East Coast like us, you'll enjoy the many other craftsman and bungalow style homes in the neighborhood. The property is also located within a 10-15 minute drive to Berkeley, a fun place offering something for everyone. In addition to her pleasantness, Judy was also an excellent communicator before, during and after our stay. Her attention to every detail was equally impressive and a sure sign that she genuinely wanted our stay to be a no hassle, fun, comfortable, and safe experience. For us it was our home away from home for one week and we would definitely rent it again. In sum, we are pleased to give this special offering a very good rating and one well worth considering.

My husband stayed here for about a month while working in CA and I visited for 2 weeks. This is a great house, Judy has made the furnishings comfy & convenient. The location is extremely convenient to the highway. It only takes 15-20 minutes to get to Fisherman's Wharf from here. I never felt unsafe, even though I was alone in the house at night. We LOVE the back porch & garden. You can forget you're in a busy city and if you're lucky, a hummingbird will come and check you out too! We recommend you take a day trip to Half Moon Bay for sightseeing. Also, if you're around the house on a Sat. morning, there is a terrific Farmer's Market at the DMV parking lot - which is 1/2 block away.
