This villa is situated in a quite area of Sanibel called Lake Murex. It is a spacious 4 bedroom villa with a large salon and 2 verandas ,a large poolside area ,BBQ , garage, easy room off the poolside. The house has Bose music system, cable TV, 2 DVD players, high speed wireless internet access, phone. There are community tennis courts very close by .
The pool is situated in a large garden on the banks of Lake Murex.. The beach is 1 km away ( see aerial photo).There are cycle lanes to everywhere. The island has a huge selection of fine restaurants. The beaches are always quiet. Crime is practically non-existent. The island is very welcoming and extremely child friendly and safe.
Sanibel is perfect for sun holidays all year round since it is situated in southwest Florida . The island is narrow with the gulf one side and the bay other side. Sanibel is an upscale destination and forbids the big names like MacDonald's, Wal-Mart, Pizza Hut and almost other multiples that you find throughout the states so most of the shops and restaurants are owner run giving a very low key, easy going, personal and friendly atmosphere to the island. There are cycle lanes everywhere. Crime does not exist. A great place for kids. Over half the island is a nature reserve and you can drive, cycle or canoe through most of it. The famous Florida Everglades are just an hour away.
If you play golf or tennis , then Sanibel is for you .There are 3 golf courses on the island , The Dunes ,Beachview ,and The Sanctuary. ..

My husband and I arrived on March 1st to a beautifully, well cared for home. It was very comfortable and with a delightful view of the lake and lovely enclosed pool area. The pool was heated and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet and the properties were groomed to perfection. We were fortunate to have the weather on our side as well. I think in our 5 weeks spent at Texas Tom's we experienced one day of rain. The only thing I would mention is the walk to the beach is about 20 minutes. However, we love Bowman's beach so usually chose to drive and park at Bowman's. Anyone choosing this property for their vacation would be very happy indeed.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My brother and I and our wives have just spent a glorious month here on Lake Murex on Sanibel Island. We found the sea a little cold so we used the heated swimming pool which was just right. It is a perfect spot for relaxing and winding down. Much of our time was spent on the balcony overlooking the pool where we could read and BBQ. The whole place was spotless and well maintained. The beach was just a short walk away and I have never seen so many shells and miles of unpolluted sand. It is also quite near the "Ding Darling" reserve where we had an unforgettable day cycling through. We have recommended this house to our friends and hope to return there next January.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.
