Perched on a hilltop in beautiful Land Harbor, Bear Ridge Cottage provides a cozy year-round retreat for a couple in search of relaxation, or an active family's vacation. With two bedrooms (king-sized, and two twin beds), a sleeper sofa, and two full baths, Bear Ridge comfortably accommodates 1-6 people and one or two well-mannered pets.
Two decks (one built around a big tree) with patio tables and a charcoal grill provide cool breezes and a great place for morning coffee or a picnic supper. Windows all around bring light and nature indoors.
The 4000' altitude ensures Spring wildflowers, cool Summers, and spectacular Fall colors. A gas fireplace adds Winter warmth as you rest from hiking or skiing and watch the snowflakes drift by.
Amenities include central heat/air, Jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. All bed and bath linens are provided. The well-equipped kitchen includes a dining table. Books, games, movies, cable TV, VCR/DVD/CD players, and visitors' information await your arrival.
Linville Land Harbor, a casual friendly mountain resort, is in the midst of all the attractions of the Blue Ridge Parkway and North Carolina mountains. It is 10 minutes from the unique ecosphere of Grandfather Mountain, with its Mile-High Bridge, trails, and nature centers year-round. Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, and Linville Caverns are must-sees for hikers and nature lovers. Nearby mountain towns provide great food, shopping, festivals, museums, excellent medical care, and lots of atmosphere!
You will enjoy Land Harbor's heated swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, and trout-stocked lake. There are miles of pathways and winding roads for walking or biking. During winters, Land Harbor is very accessible from Highway 221, and the resort's maintenance crew keeps roads scraped. Land Harbor also has an onsite security service.
