We have adjoining/nearby equally nice accommodations so you can bring your entire entourage!

(Excuse some background: In Bluefin Bay Resort 'language' our home is sometimes referred to as a 'Grand Superior' - & in that 'language' what we refer to as the 'A' section, downstairs, is a 'Grand Superior One Bedroom' & what we call the 'B' section, upstairs, is a combo of a 'Grand Superior Master Bedroom' and 'Hillside Guest Room.')
Some special ways this unit DIFFERS from other units at this resort...
...one of only 2 town homes in its category with end-unit windows on 2 levels plus upper-level balcony
...only town home in its category with large, easy-to-maneuver square, contemporary 'counter' table in dining area (seats 8)
...4 huge ceiling fans (bigger, more effectively hung, etc., than most similar units) in 3 bedrooms & living room
...marble vanities in 3 baths & kitchen counter
...extra-large marble wet bar in 'B' section
...2 fireplace mantels of huge, cedar logs oozing northwoods ambiance
...special laptop work-counter, with option of Ethernet
...'lock-out doors' (between downstairs & upstairs) swing completely out of way for convenience
...new combo 'B' section will be extra special for guests who've used only 'B' in the past; no sharing stairway with strangers, include another couple or kids
...larger flat-screen TV in living room than any other unit plus 2 other flat-screen TVs
...high-tech 'air tub' whirlpool (in 'A' section bath) meets modern hygiene standards
Stay here & look right down (from upstairs) & directly out at (from downstairs) the nearby waters of Lake Superior, where frequently the crashing waves of the mighty Lake offer spectacular sights & sounds.
You'll not regret additional nights at this neat resort! Guest Appreciation Coupons are applicable nearby: dining, outdoor equipment, charter fishing, snowmobiling, dogsled rides, neat north country shopping, golf, OR future reservations! GA Coupon $ amounts are substantial (more $ each successive night you add) GA coupons add up to as much as $500 for 6-night stay in busy season!

Last minute trip to the North Shore... as we were looking for places to stay Thursday evening, and found most everything booked, we were thrilled to come across Bluefin Bay 57! (While we've passed this most gorgeous resort right on Lake Superior, we've never stayed.) Excited to get to our newest destination on the North Shore, we had no ideaa what we were in s tore for: sun-filled room, star-gazing from the // window at night, but most of all a real fireplace!! This room has all the little extra touches one can think of ...we loved it! (Dave:) What topped the whole weekend off was the most gorgeous fall weather!! Hiked Oberg Loop; couldn't believe how vibrant the colors were!! Views were specrtacular! Definitely a must - on to Grand Marais ...one of our favorite places. Ended with dinner at Lutsen. Truly a most wonderful last minute get-away! Kelly & Dave, Prescott, WIDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for keeping such a beautiful place. When we walked in we were amazed. The pictures online usually look better than the actual place, but not in this case. I felt peace and God's presence about this whole trip. My husband is a minister studying @ Bible school right now. We both met there and now live on campus. We wanted to get away and hear from the Lord and it was wonderful reading this book and seeing how others came here for the same thing. He loves the praises of His people and when we as a people lift Him up by acknowledging his creation I know it makes Him near. I know the Lord ordained this trip and I believe we will be back. Thank you for keeping it so lovely and for the Caribou Coffee!!I loved the coffee and the 'smores. We love 57 and thank the Lord for this opportunity. Take care and the Lord bless you for keeping you first. Sincerely, Nigel & TamaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We were here on our honeymoon. Headed to "Crooked Spoon" restaurant in Grand Marais and it was awesome delicious. Then went to a few stores and headed to Lutsen Mountain. The down mountain sledding was fantastic! Don't be afraid to go fast, it's worth it! Went inland to Sawbill Lake. A lot of photo ops in that area. Bring a fishing rod or rent a canoe for half a day for $20. Have an adventure. Andrew & I had such an amazing stay here. What a perfect time we had on our honeymoon. We are so sad to leave here tomorrow, wish we could stay for a summer. Thanks you for such an amazing place! The waves & the fireplace... wow! never want to leave. We live a state away from the beautiful North Shore of Minnesota. It is very ironic that we also live in a community of the North Shore (Highland Park, IL) although the county we live in is Lake County but we often travel to Cook County IL very frequently (Chicago). The two Cook Counties and North Shores couldn't possibly be further worlds apart. What a beautiful job you have done! We dove into all the activities the North Shore has to offer ...bike riding, hiking, blueberry picking off the Gunflint Trail, and fishing & canoeing on Four Mile Lake!, Alpine sliding (big hit for the boys). Just a great place and we will be back again soon. There is still so much more to explore! Thank you for sharing your home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This has been the perfect place to spend our 25th wedding anniversary. We have stayed in a different unit for the last few years, but this was a far nicer placde. We loved everything about it. Thanks for providing a wonderful, romantic setting. We can't wait to come back to 57.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Barb & Jack, We so enjoyed your lovely home, four nights was heavenly. Being fond of "bears," we really appreciated the decor... it has character, warm, relaxing and welcoming. The lighting (lamps) were excellent for catching up on our book work. We loved your dining room table, etc. Witnessing the huge waves washing to the shore was awesome, a real reflective experience of WOW. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We cherish the memories of Bluefin Bay Unit 57.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jack & Barb - Andrew & I came here for our honeymoon! We got married June 26. What an amazing place! We stopped at Gooseberry Falls on the way, so beautiful. When we got here we were blown away at the beautiful scenery and cozy feel of this place! Today we went to Grand Marais and walked near the shore. Ate as Sven & Ole's then played some miniature golf! This evening we took advantage of the grill outside, pool near by and fire place right here. Andrew is working on the fire right now. We LOVE this place and hope to come back for an anniversary! Thank you for providing such a beautiful place for us to share this special home. Oh, and what beautiful weather!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Jack & Barb, All 11 of us Am...es, Bi...ns, Sy...ks, and Su...ns had a really great time at Bluefin Bay. About the owner: We're Barb & Jack, happy to meet you & muse - vicariously - that you might be thinking of enjoying our special 'home away from home' on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We may be retired, sometimes just 'tired :),' but we're fortunate we can stay active & would be pleased if you can enjoy the special wonders of Bluefin Bay Resort. We're relaxing just a bit after high-intensity careers: Barb is a long-time Registered Nurse, partly in EMT, mostly in labor & delivery. Jack's career was in the advertising business, almost entirely in his own advertising agency enterprise. We both were reared in a small-town/agricultural environment in southern Minnesota that has surely left its mark on us forever. We love family (kids, grandkids & great-grandkids!), travel, horses & mules, desert, mountains, oceans, trains, boats, hiking, Jeeping, Western music (different than 'country'!), opera, cowboy poetry, and, and, and.
Why the Owner Chose Tofte:
It's easy to fall in love with this part of the country, the North Shore of Lake Superior, largest body of fresh water in the world. We've certainly been smitten. Sometimes this rugged coast is compared to the New England coast. Sometimes the nearby Sawtooth Mountains remind us of the west. The vast range of outdoor recreation opportunities -'right out the back door' - have been a huge attraction: unlimited hiking opportunities, hundreds of miles of XC trails, fishing, charming Americana in the small towns, best Alpine skiing east of the Rockies, kayaking & canoeing, on & on. And, of course, we were also attracted to the wonderful amenities of Bluefin Bay Resort, 2 pools (one outdoor & heated year 'round), 2 hot tubs (one also outdoor), and much more. Bottom line: We're glad we chose Bluefin Bay. We think you will be, too.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We've done our share of hiking (including backpacking some 200 miles of the famed Superior Hiking Trail & day hikes galore) ...enjoyed picnics overlooking the Lake from atop Mt. Oberg or Carlton Peak ...relaxing (on our deck, or on the rocks a few feet away) to listen to the waves of the Lake crashing (or just lapping at the shoreline) a stone's throw away ...visiting the cascading streams feeding the lake, the cauldrons of the Temperance River, Devil's Kettle on the Brule River, the spectacular double waterfall of the Caribou River ...watching the kids & grand-kids skip rocks when the Lake is quiet ...the 'Smore's sessions around the campfire ...we could go on & on.
