After looking at the photos and the amenities our group of 9 friends concluded that the Beagle Hill Lodge would be great location for our yearly trip to Hocking Hills. The lodge was clean and well maintained although it is a little smaller than the pictures dictate. There are nice sized rooms but the fifth is pretty small. As avid Buckeye fans (and one Fightin’ Irish fan) we were particularly looking forward to the 110” screen in the basement for the football games that weekend. This was the deciding factor in choosing this house. Around 6 pm on the first night we noticed that the bulb had burned out in the projector. We called the contact number for assistance and they said they would be out the next day to check it out. Immediately we were concerned that our game watching would be ruined because these types of bulbs usually need ordered online. The staff arrived about 10 am to look at the projector but wasn’t able to remove the bulb. One staff member called her husband for assistance, he also wasn’t able to remove it so a person in our group worked to remove it. After removing the bulb there was any indication of the type so the husband left. We found the box for the projector and left a message for the staff with the model number. We didn’t receive any updates about the bulb and were finally told late Friday night that they could not locate a replacement but would continue searching at let us know the results. No other update was given. They said the bulb was working fine when the staff cleaned on Thursday (insinuating that we broke it?) and they were going to do anything else because the broken TV was OK within some “guidelines”. These types of bulbs don’t just stop working..they gradually get worse over time. The staff should have seen degradation and had a another bulb on hand. This level of customer service was lacking. Repeatedly telling us that it is within the “guidelines” was no help. A couple of suggestions would be to add a rug near the basement door that leads to the hot tub. Water accumulates near there and having a rug will reduce the possibility of someone falling (2 people in our group fell). The bullet about a “deck with grill” is not accurate; there is a deck but the grill (the kind you see in a public park) is located near the picnic tables. Overall the house is good but the service left a sour taste in all our mouths.

Our children and grandchildren met us at Beagle Hill Lodge as a central lodging destination for all of us spread all over Ohio. We were immediately impressed upon arrival with the abundant LED interior/ exterior lights, making it a scenic place to enjoy our Holidays together. The home and land were so scenic and private, it is hard to describe how peaceful and much appreciated it was. The double ovens were perfect for our home cooked meals and we really appreciated the large farm table! Our grandkids fell in love with the movies and projector in the evenings and they also told me they liked the board games provided in the lower level. We were all impressed with the lay out of your farmhouse, having 5 bedrooms and 4 baths was a treat. The home was very cozy, very nicely kept, clean and decorated. We'll be back again for sure! It was very conveniently located for us to dine at The Inn at Cedar Falls one night, hike Old Man's Cave and attend the Lantern Tour and Caroling at Ash Cave. Our son and daughter-in-law took the kids on the Santa Express train ride and they loved it! Thank You for sharing your home with us. Andy, Vicky and Family

Our stay at Beagle Hill was relaxing and comfortable. It supplied everything anyone would need for a short or long stay. The cleanliness of the house and hot tub was excellent. The quiet, nature, and sounds of the outdoors were very appealing. Our dogs loved exploring the acres of woods surrounding the property. We are already planning a return trip next year!

Over all the house was nice but had some major issues and the management won't do anything about our inconvienance. Tha hot tub was discusting, scum line and green water they said it had been cleaned 2 days before we arrived and the heater in it didn't work. There were also other cleaning isssues. Would not recommend this rental company. For what was charged I expected a perfect place to stay.

                        Recommended for: Pet owners.

Owner response: We are truly sorry this guest feels the way she does. I would like to politely point out the inaccuracies of the review, respectfully. The guest never called to express any disappointment or concerns during their Fri., Sat. and Sun. stay. It wasn't until the day after her departure that she contacted us for the first time. The high end hot tub is brand new and only in use 11 days prior to her arrival. We have a hot tub treatment company come the same day as guest check ins! They showed us their paperwork on their pre-check in hot tub inspection and the hot tub was deemed in " excellent condition", correct PH levels, no water discoloration, no scum and heater working properly. They also cleaned filters as they do every week. The guest sent us an e-mail the week after her stay saying " if you do not compensate me, I'll leave negative feedback". This does not seem ethical as we would expect that any honest person that felt they had a bad rental experience, would and should leave negative feedback if they are or are not compensated. Also, as far as cleanliness, she pointed out after her stay there was one cobweb. This is the "other cleaning issues" she is referring to in her review. Keep in mind, Beagle Hill Lodge sits on 50 plus acres of wooded/ rural land with thousands of trees. Spider webs develop daily in country settings and are tended to regularly by the great cleaning lady! We paid for the hot tub company to come back out and check into her complaint the day she informed us of it and we were told there was make up, perfume and body residue likely from sweat etc. in the hot tub and the heater was working properly. They said it was also likely guests left the cover off as well. They drained it, re-filled and sanitized it after her stay. Since this is our only negative review, we have numerous repeat lodging guests with great experiences, we hope future people considering a stay at Beagle Hill Lodge know we are very disappointed in the inaccuracies of this review. We wish the guest would have called us at any time during her stay. Our contact information is on her written stay confirmation and posted in the guest welcome/ informational book at all times.

Rented Beagle Hill for my mother in law's 60th birthday present. 8 adults, 3 children and 2 labs with room to spare! Beagle Hill Lodge was amazing inside and out. Beautifully landscaped, wonderful amenitites, comfortable furnishings, well appointed kitchen and land that goes on forever! Appreciated the little things...having balls, cornhole, bubbles etc for the kids, a stocked kitchen with more than enough dinnerware, flatware, cooking needs, etc. Great location. A great, memorable weekend for all. I totally would recommend to anyone....and PET FRIENDLY. Huge plus for our family!

Our family traveled with our cousins to enjoy 5 nights in Hocking Hills when our kids were off school. We enjoyed the abundance of land, beautiful magnolia tree just starting to bud, the corn hole and other games provided at the lodge! Beagle Hill lodge was so beautifully decorated and the amenities, amount of kitchen cookware, dishes, glasses etc. was way more furnished than any other rental we have stayed at before in the area! The lodge was so close to our favorite State Park- Old Man's Cave! Our entire family loved the lodge and hope to come back again in the Fall next time to see the beautiful thousands of trees on your property change colors! Thank You so much for a great spring break experience! Your place was just so peaceful, serene and private, all a great recipe for a great escape from the city!

We had a wonderful time at Beagle Hill Lodge. Great location and beautiful home. Took us a awhile to find it. The Garmin did not match the written directions but came to find out that the Garmin's driveway would have led us past the Glass House on up to Beagle Hill. Kitchen was well appointed and greatly appreciated access to basic spices and cleaning supplies. Fire pit was great fun for s'mores and family time. Hot tub was unpredicatble. Worked one day and not the next. Frustrating for our children. Large screen in lower level was a huge hit. Bring extra blankets in the winter (would be wonderful if there were at least a dozen more warm blankets available). There were enough blankets to cover each bed for 8 but would have struggled keeping anymore than that warm at night. One son slept with just a sheet, so he slept in sweatpants and a sweatshirt. We loved hiking Old Mans Cave and Cedar Falls. Kids are wanting to come back this summer. Highly recommend Beagle Hill.

Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We really appreciate it! The hot tub was accidentally put into "economy mode" by one of the rental guests during the stay. That is why it was in great condition upon arrival but got colder during stay. Since it was the check out morning we were informed of it for the first time, we came to the lodge right away, and re-set it (took it out of economy mode) and it heated right back up to full temperature. Also, we have a labelled closet in the lower level with extra blankets. Since you did not notice the linen closet, we were afraid other future guests may miss it too. We decided to remove all the ralph lauren and other high quality blankets from the closet and actually fold them nicely, and place them at the bottom of every bed in the entire house! In addition, the tiled area in the lower level does feel chillier than the rest of the home, especially when it is so cold in Ohio this time of year! We purchased the highest rated safety and reliability electric space heater and placed it in the lower level in the event guests would like to use it. It is also very decorative and cozy looking as it appears to look like real fire and real logs even though it is not! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Beagle Hill and want to come back again this summer. We would love to have you! Thanks Again! Darla Minamyer- Property Manager

Our family gathered from 3 states to see each other for a long weekend get-away. We were all so glad we chose Beagle Hill. The home was so cute, clean and had a feeling of peacefullness to it. We loved the large antique dining table and the guys were so appreciative of the large projector screen to watch their football games on. The home was spacious and having 4 bathrooms really helped out a lot! We enjoyed close by activities hiking Old Man's Cave, ATV riding and Canopy Tours Zip Lining was a blast. When we returned in the evenings, we laughed and reminded each other of memories from years ago around the fire pit! The hot tub was the last thing used each night to relax after our action packed days. Then we were off to bed for a great nights sleep! We used the pavilion and grills to cook out on our last day there. Thank you for having our family as we really enjoyed the property. It was just perfect for our family and we all talked about how lucky we were to have found it on line. P.S. The Beagle Mural in the living room was SO BEAUTIFUL!

Our family went to Beagle Hill Lodge to celebrate my 50th Birthday this February! We loved the house immensely. It was so nicely furnished, decorated and spacious. The double ovens were great for our special prime rib meal. We already decided to go back to Beagle Hill again in October for a 5 couples retreat since we enjoyed the place so much!
