"Hibernation Station"- Four Bedroom/Two Bath Cabin
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Our four-bedroom, two-bath cabin is nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky mountains between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge just off the 441 spur. This log home sits approximately two miles from Pigeon Forge and four miles from Gatlinburg making it very convenient to either location.
Comfort, accessibility, and value is our theme and we strive to make our chalet a location you will want to visit again and again. The view from the back upper deck (one of three decks) is unmatched, especially as you sit in the hot tub viewing the five mountain ranges. We have made our vacation home a home that we are excited to return to and we know that you will be too.
All attractions are within ten minutes of the front door of our home, but just far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle on those occasions when you choose to just relax.

I took a youth group to Gatlinburg this past week and we stayed at "Hibernation Station". Let me start by saying that dealing with the owners was a pure pleasure. They did everything in their power to make our stay wonderful, and that is just what it was. The setting is shear beauty. The view from every side is amazing. The cabin is well appointed and sleeps everyone very well (we had 10 in all). The trip into Gatlinburg from the cabin is quick and you are right there in the action, but when you head back for the evening, you are in a place a solitude. It was a great experience and we would gladly stay again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time in your cabin. The bedroom on the main floor was very nice! Much nicer than the pictures. The rest of the cabin was exactly as the pictures show! The owners were easy to get in touch with and easy to talk to. We will be staying again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Really enjoyed the cabin, its location and the game room for the kids. My experience and communication with the owners, Marvin and John was as good as the cabin itself. They were both very timely in responding, very accommodating and a true pleasure speaking with. The cabin was as described, was clean and very comfortable for our family. I would highly recommend this cabin and would stay there again. Thank you for allowing us in your home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Thanks John Hall for letting me and my hubby, mom in law, brother in law, sister in law, and 83 yr old mom in laws boy friend stay at the cabin. My son and daughter in law had a serious family illness and could not vacation with us as planned, that was the only downside to the trip. I will tell anyone I know that you cant go wrong with the cabin and the amenities. We had a great view of the hills in their splendor of fall colors. The cabin had everything even a crockpot which we didnt use. The beds were great and a tv was available for almost every room even though all we watched was Wheel of Fortune and the men watched the military channel a bit. Loved the bear rug on the wall my hubby thought it was real. We will most likely want to visit again in the future with family tagging along too. You have a very special cabin. One suggestion, if they are still available, would be a couple of foldout suitcase racks and maybe a door mirror or two. But it is great just the way it is. Thanks again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Date at Hibernation Station: October 9th-13th, 2008Let me start by saying I saw a bear! It was a little thing; if he had stood on his back legs he would have been as tall as my seven yr old. He was running up the road in front of the house around 5:20 pm, we were in the middle of unpacking the truck, I was outside with my 3 yr old son at the time, and needless to say I panicked, grabbed him by the arm and ran in the house. The little bear was running up the road as fast as I was running in the house (I only ran fearing the mother bear that would protect her baby as much I was mine, she never came up). The rest of the bears we saw on this trip were at Cades cove and the bear habitat atop the mountain at Ober Gatlinburg. The cabin is awesome, I have never felt so much at home in a place I have never been before. I will be back for years to come. We all love the layout of the house, the little guys slept upstairs, we took the master suite, and grandma and grandpa took a room downstairs. I know if we had stayed in-town somewhere we would have never had as good of a time as we did. I think if you can’t truly rest during your down time, the next day is going to be a lot more stressful. We came back to the cabin every night and the kids had somewhere to play and calm down. For morning time they spent their whole morning downstairs playing games (waking Grandpa up, not us). I know that in any motel they would have been climbing all over me wanting to know when we were going to leave and do something, here they can find something to do and I feel safe. I would have to say this is least stressful trip I have taken since having kids. Everywhere else we have been I am always worried about what the kids are doing, but in this cabin I feel so safe. However they were told “if you go outside without Mom or Dad a bear WILL eat you” maybe that is why they wanted to stay in the house and be good. This is the only place I will stay with my family when we come to the area. I am so blessed to have found the cabin and can’t wait till we come back. We will recommend this cabin to everyone we know! Thanks for letting us enjoy our fall in the Smoky Mountains.Sincerely,Carol Heath, Carol, JB, and Payton Hamilton; Warner Robins, GARicky and Cindy Hamilton; Jasper, ALDid you find this review helpful? This was probably about our 8th stay at the cabin; and probably the most memorable it will be. We saw Mama Bear with her 3 cubs; that was very exciting for us and the kids. Took a ton of pictures. The weather was great except Saturday night we had a small storm, but we lost electricity; that was not much fun; but we made the most of it. Thanks again Marvin and Kim; we just love coming to the cabin!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed 4 nights at Hibernation Station and wished we had the time to have stayed 4 more! The cabin had everything you could want and more for a home away from home experience. Everything was cozy, clean, and just minutes from Gatlinburg and downtown Pigeon Forge. The Dixie Stampede was a great experience also. We will definately be back next year for a long stay!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Marvin and Kim Bostock, along with John and Missi Hall are the proud owners of the "Hibernation Station" cabin. Marvin is a retired Clarksville, Indiana police officer and Kim works for a Jeffersonville, Indiana accounting firm. We have been married for 30 years and have 2 grown children and one beautiful granddaughter. John and Missi are recently married and have one daughter. John is employed as a police officer with the New Albany, Indiana police department.
Why the Owner Chose Other Gatlinburg Properties:
For years, we had been traveling to the Smokies and staying in different chalets and cabins. We finally decided to find one of our own and we feel we hit the jackpot. Besides the great location, between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, we have million dollar views along with our well appointed cabin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
As most of us know, vacationing can get quite expensive. Fortunately, we are able to enjoy ourselves just spending time at the cabin relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying our other amenities, including the view. For the times we choose to leave the cabin, we are within 5-10 minutes of Dollywood and Pigeon Forge and the same amount of time from Gatlinburg. Both cities and the surrounding area have much to offer.
