My husband and I have been going to Crystal Beach for the last 7 years and we have finally found the ultimate house that has everything you need for a great vacation!! We've stayed in bigger houses on the beach and this house is our favorite. The home owner has done an amazing job making sure you have all the amenities you need for the beach and house. We used the beach umbrella and cart every day to take our stuff to the beach. My daughter was so excited to see a wagon there, because we didn't have room to bring one. The house had plenty of bathroom towels for all the rooms. Games and movies were provided for rainy days. The location is a perfect walk to the beach, and shopping center's. I usually send hours looking for the perfect vacation house for our stay and I'm so excited that I can finally stop looking, because we will definately be renting this house every year. I can't say enough about the amazing job the home owner has done to make your family vacation a lasting memorable one. Thank you so much!

Brought my family who are from the North to see first hand why I love Destin and its surroundings. And by the end of the week they were sold! From the perfect house to the white beaches we all had a wonderful time. This particular property was spacious and clean and a short walk to the beach. The kids enjoyed the convenience of the pool after a day at the beach. Many laughs and good times were made. And Janet, the owner, was friendly and easy to contact if needed. Would definitely stay there again.

Skipper's Escape was perfect! It is more spacious than the pictures show. Plenty of room and space for our children and grandchildren. All of our needs were met. Less than a block to the beautiful beach made it easy with little ones. It was the most relaxing trip, beautiful pool and view. Janet and Chris were very attentive to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Can't wait to go again!

The house is exactly as advertised. It is a beautiful home only one block from the beach. Our entire family of 10 adults 2 teenagers a 4yr. old and 7mo. old baby stayed for a week and everyone had a bed. The property was clean and well maintained with a nice pool area landscaping and a heated pool.This was our first visit to Florida and it made this visit very enjoyable. Janet Kiley was a pleasure to work with and very responsive to any questions or additional needs. The beach was white sand and beautiful. I would highly recommend this property if you have a large group.

A beautifully decorated, yet comfortable, home just a block from the beach with great amenities. Exceptionally clean with a wonderful private pool in the backyard. Close to shopping and other area amenities. Very gracious and helpful owner, who knows the area well. I would HIGHLY recommend this home ~ was even better than the photos! Hope to return for another stay in the future ~ it could not have been nicer!

Phenomenal Stay!

This was a "significant" birthday celebration for 7 very good friends. We have been getting together each year for the last 10 and this was by far the best locale we have visited. The house and pool were outstanding (very nicely decorated) the kitchen outfitted well, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. The owner was available to answer questions and help in any way we needed. To a person, all of us felt the visit was perfect and all are planning to return!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Excellent location, central to everything we wanted to do. Excellent facilities, exactly everything we could hope for from outdoor grill, pool toys, hair dryers in the bathrooms, privacy AND gathering places inside the house, and exquisite weather that I'm sure the owners ordered up for us! No insects! How did they do that?

Wonderful beach house

Skipper's Escape is a wonderful beach house. It is beautifully decorated and the most equipped house that we have rented in the Crystal Beach area. We enjoyed the family games that were provided, along with the music, that we could listen to inside and outside the house. The house is close to the beach, area shops, and restaurants. Our family really enjoyed our vacation and look forward to coming back in the future. Thank you for sharing your beach house with us.

I rented this house for my family to stay in while attending my Son's beach wedding in Destin. The house was awesome! Plenty of room for us and a very cute and private guest house in back for the newlyweds! The house was very well equiped...plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. Janet was very responsive when the air conditioning in the guest house wasn't getting cool. She had someone out within a couple hours, same evening and we didn't report it to her until after 5pm! The pool and backyard area were great for hanging out after a long day at the beach. We had wonderful dinners at Fisherman's Wharf, Goatfeathers, and Captain Dave's. We rented a pontoon boat one day and had a great time at crab island and in the bay! We hope to return again!!

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

What a great week we've had at Skipper's Escape in Destin! This is a perfect beach house and it has been a great fit for the 14 of us from Texas!! Even though June grass messed up the beautiful water most of the week, we've still had a fun time, and the pool and deck here have been fantastic! We hope to come back soon!

This was our first trip to Destin, and we had a great time at Skipper's Escape. This was a big family trip - 3 generations and 16 people - and the house was perfect for us! The sound system outside was very fun, and we loved having the short walk to the beach. We had great weather, enjoyed shopping at Destin Commons, and even talked to an American Idol (Jason Castro!) contestant at Pompano Joe's. And best of all - we celebrated an engagement! A very good time and even better memories. Thanks!

Happy Vacation at Destin

This was a great experience since it was our first home rental. Everything we wanted was there. We especially like the pool in the back yard and all of the toys, chairs and pool items available. We brought chairs but did not need to. The bedrooms were very spacious and each had their own bathroom. The owner has though of eveything as we found CD's, DVD and plenty of games to play. I like the sound system that you can listen to music in the back yard as well as in the living room and they are indepented of each other. There is a Bar B Q pit in the back yard that we used several times to cook in but there is enough kitchen ware to make you think you are at home. I would first inspect the drawers and cabinets to make sure you know where everything is before you start to cook since we purchased somethings and then found them avaiable in another place. A lot of closet space and room in each bed room. TV's everywhere but we did not use them as much, older ones but very functional with DVD players. Very close to the beach but we spent as much time at the pool as at the beach. They have a shower outside in the back for when we return to wash the sand off. You can walk to the shops if you want or a very short drive. We hope to visit this again next year if we can organize everyones schedule. Very nice owners. They were present when we arrived and made sure everything was in order for us.

My extended family and I (14 of us total) just retuned from a May 2011 stay at Skipper's Escape. From the moment we arrived, we were totally and completely satisfied with every aspect of the house, its location, the furnishings, its close proximity to the beach, and the immaculate way in which this house has been so obviously taken care of. Amenities such as stereo speakers throughout the house (including outside by the pool); a closet stocked with beach chairs, pool floats, etc.; wonderfully stocked kitchen; bar area with separate ice maker, etc. etc. I could go on and on. The family atmosphere of the community where the house is located is also a big plus. And the short walk to the beach is much shorter than many beach-front condos we have stayed at in the past. My family and I are sold on this property and planning a future visit. Janet Kiley was wonderful to deal with. So all I can say is that we HIGHLY recommend that you give it a try. You will not be disappointed!

What a wonderful beach house. Our family had a fabulous time @ Skipper's Escape. The children enjoyed the pool when we weren't at the beach and the bungalow was a great resting place for them. We were very pleased with Kiley Beach Resort's hospitality and accommodations. We look forward to more vacations in Destin!!

We came to Destin to visit our son and see if we would like being away from home for a month. The weather the first week was cold but we left snow in Illinois so it was still great for us. The rest of the time the weather was running into the 70s! We walked nearly every day down to the Crab Trap and back and met a lot of nice people. - Carraba's Italian - VERY good - Lenny's Sub - better than Subway - Slick Micks - Ft. Walton - great philly cheese steak - Happy Hour at Crystal Beach Inn (walking distance from here) called "790 on the Gulf" - great steak quesadillas and best bread pudding ever. I even saw dolphins! 3 pm in March. The month here was perfect and we really enjoyed your home,and the convenience of where it is. Thank you for helping to make this a great 1st time experience. Thank you!

"This was our (3 families) first extended vacation - we've been getting together for short 2-3 day vacations for 23 years. This was perfect for a first time - room to spread out and have privacy and room to get together to eat and play games at night. Loved being close to the beach, plus such close driving to shopping, restaurants, etc. From the moment we walked into the house we were all in awe and so happy with the accommodations. while here we celebrated an engagement announcement - on the top balcony - not the beach! Chris and Janet were so great to work with before we got here and during our stay. Loved Destin, the house, everything and hope to be back! THANKS!!"

"We had a wonderful vacation in Destin, Florida. It was everything we expected and more. We were worried about the oil before we came, but the owners kept us updated and we appreciate that. We didn't see any oil! We will come back to Destin. It is worth the 12 hour trip for us from WV. Thanks for everything! Let's go Mountaineers!"

"The 'Skipper's Escape' was perfect for our family vacation. We had 3 generations here. We thought the location worked well - close to the beach. The pool was probably the most popular spot! Parasailed with 'Just Chute Me' and had a wonderful sunset cruise on the 'Emerald Dancer.' We had such a good time and those special family memories will last forever. It was our first trip to Destin but hope to return. Thanks for everything."

"We've had a great stay. Came with family and friends. We enjoyed the scooters we rented and nice short walks to the beach. We had our 4th Anniversary yesterday and really enjoyed eating at A.J.s down by the marina. Weather has been perfect all week. Breezy @ the beach. The water felt amazing. We saw a sting ray, eagle ray, and shark. We absolutely LOVE the stereo throughout the house and out at the pool. It was one of the BEST things about the house!"
