Airplane Views of Tucson Valley from Highest Luxury Home

This is a private home on 3 gated acres bordering Coronado National Forest Wilderness Area. This 5,000 square foot contemporary Santa Fe style home is beautifully situated on the highest and most scenic improved parcel in the northeast Catalina Foothills at the base of Mount Lemmon. 4 bedrooms, 7 baths, gourmet kitchen, detached game room, and multiple porches and decks with the best views of the Tucson valley-period.
This home is nestled into a saguaro studded hillside at on elevation of 3,300’ (Downtown Tucson is about 2,350’). It is the highest estate in the northeast foothills of Tucson and the view must be seen to be believed. During the day, you can see the mountains on the Mexican border (68 miles away) and at night, the sea of lights of metro Tucson are below you. Behind the home is designated wilderness area filled with wildlife and improved hiking trails off of the Catalina Highway to Mount Lemmon. The daytime temperatures in the summer are about 4 degrees less than downtown because of our elevation and the nighttime temperatures in the winter run at least 5 degrees warmer because we are off of the valley floor and sitting on solid granite.
Mt. Lemmon is a rare jewel in the Arizona desert. Jutting up 9,000 feet above sea level in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of our house, this magnificent mountain peak stands amidst the pale backdrop of the sparse desert sand and cactus. From our driveway, you begin the journey into a geological time warp moving through a saguaro forest for the first 10 minutes, then into many oak and pinion pine covered mountains with spectacular rock formations. Within 35 minutes, you can be fishing for trout at Rose Canyon Lake in the ponderosa pines. If you continue on, you quickly arrive at the small village of Summerhaven and the Ski Valley lift at over 8,000’ elevation. Many trails can be found in both the lower and upper elevations for winter or summer hiking.
Even though you sense extreme privacy on the property, you are only minutes away from many activities:
Golf at Arizona National (formerly the Raven) in 10 minutes, 49ers Country Club in 10 minutes, Ventana Canyon in 25 minutes, and many more great golf courses within an hour.
Grocery shopping, restaurants, drug stores, and virtually everything you might need to purchase on a day to day basis are within 8 minutes. Park Mall is about 20-25 minutes away.
Drive time to the University of Arizona is about 35 minutes and to downtown Tucson, about 5 minutes further.

I have to say this was a God-send when looking for a home for 2 families and Grandma to celebrate our son's wedding in Tucson. We happened across this home on the web and when we looked at the available days it was just perfect for when we needed it, Thurs through Mon. Jack was very accomodating and helpful and we were fortunate he solved the problem of where to have the rehersal dinner...right there on the patio! We were able to use his extra tables, cloths, chairs, ribbon ties all at the home for a nominal fee. We had a great time in Tucson and were able to get to anywhere we needed to go from this home. We had the use of anything in the cupboards, and we contributed what we had left over and didn't need after our stay. The extra game building was perfect for the young adults in our family and we spent many hours in the spa and watching the fire in the fireplace outside. The view is utterly fantastic. You won't go wrong if you rent this beautiful home. It will have lasting memories for us. Joan Knight Bellevue, OhioDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This place is beyond perfect for our group of scrapbookers. We have stayed here twice and plan to come again. Jack is very accommodating and generous. We scrapbooked day and night, cooked, hot tubbed and enjoyed the game room. It's fantastic. You cannot beat the view or the space.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

I live in the Tucson area and rented this amazing house with its beautiful view for one week from May 30 – June 5 to visit with family that came out to visit me. From start to finish, the owner (Jack) welcomed me into his home and made every effort to make me feel comfortable, answered my questions, and assisted me as needed. He was extremely polite, professional, helpful, and accommodating. The house is very spacious and enormously comfortable. It has top of the line appliances, large rooms and beds, and multiple thermostats to adjust for comfort. As well as being able to enjoy the view from inside the house, it also has multiple outdoor areas (two decks, Jacuzzi, and outdoor fireplace) to look down the side of the mountain and enjoy the impressive panoramic Tucson valley view and relax. It was remarkably quiet and private as well. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and they are looking forward to coming back. We have stayed in one of the resorts in town and while it was nice, it does not even hold a candle to this property. I will definitely be contacting Jack again next time I have anyone coming out to visit me in Tucson. I have to agree with other individuals that have reviewed this house; the pictures and video do not do it justice. I cannot say enough good things about my stay, the property, and the owner. Top Notch!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We (3 couples) stayed in this beautiful home for 4 days. Although very nice, the photographs can hardly reflect what this house is about: -beautiful, most beautiful location -beautiful, most beautiful house -comfortable, most comfortable home -warm and helpful owner, most cooperative and efficient in communicating All in all, we had a wonderful stay and we would recommend this house to our relatives and best friends. We would certainly go back ourselves if we make future trips to TucsonRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our group of eight were overwhelming pleased with this fantastic vacation rental. The owner welcomed us upon arrival and showed us around the property, as well as gave us information about the area. There was also a notebook with the home that included pertinent house information, as well as listings for restaurants, golf, and sightseeing. The house was immaculate, and the appliances, kitchen electronics, cookware, and utensils were plentiful and of the highest quality. The house was well stocked with paper products, and bath products. The sheets, and towels were basically brand new,and luxurious. There were numerous gathering areas inside the home, and on the decks, and in the game house for our group to assemble. It is the perfect house for couples traveling together and families, as each bedroom has a private bath. The flooring on the main level is hand cut stone and is beautiful. We have rented several homes in the past for group and family trips and this house by far exceeds any past rentals. The owner of this home is very responsive when contacted about availability, or any other questions that you might have. The views of Tucson Valley are breathtaking inside and outside of the home. This is a rental that exceeds the description and video. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here if you are in the Tucson area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I rented this fabulous home for a family reunion (March 22-29, 2012). Never having rented over the internet before, I was a little nervous paying a security deposit and the week's rent up-front to an owner whose only contacts were a cell phone and post office box. Flying in from the San Francisco Bay Area, without a back-up plan, I was very much relieved when Jack (the owner) answered my call on the second ring and was waiting for us when we arrived at his glorious, custom built hacienda. The house and grounds were everything we'd been led to believe and more. Jack, himself, was a delight to deal with. I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

This is a wonderful home located high above Tucson with great city and mountain views. Despite the private location, there is easy access to grocery stores and restaurants. Owner promptly responded to emails and provided helpful tour of house at check-in. My wife and I especially enjoyed the outdoor wood-burning fireplace. There is easy access to the numerous hiking trails on Mt. Lemmon. We would definitely rent this place the next time we are in Tucson.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A terrific place for a big family getaway. Ten of us with varying interests enjoyed a week here at Christmas. Plenty to do in the area, but there was also plenty to keep us homebound--the hot tub overlooking the valley, for starters, the game "room" up the hill, the great kitchen where we could all work and schmooze. The owner was very helpful, meeting us at the start and giving us a substantial tour, then providing us with anything missing during the week.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
