Fabulous place to stay!

This was our first visit to America - to visit our son, daughter-in-law and (step) grandsons. We had such a fantastic stay - the cabin was fabulous, with spectacular views and so much wildlife - deer, wild turkeys, a daily visit by a wood-pecker, funny little lizards and fire flies every night. We had a great time at the cabin also with our daughter and our son's new family - we played board games, had a barbeque and generally chilled out. The location was just wonderful and peaceful but a great place to tour the area from. We went to Pigeon Forge in Tennessee for a weekend, but also spent time at Linville Falls and on the Blus Ridge Parkway. So all in all a great holiday. I agree with all the other reviews ; the cabin was spotlessly clean, very well furnished, with every possible facility. Sharon and Vince are very generous in supplying everything you could possibly need. I think that 'generosity', 'quality' and 'hospitality' would be the words to describe our lasting impression of the way in which Sharon and Vince manage their cabin. Sharon even made sure we had a kettle so that we could make English tea - a necessity for us and very much appreciated!! Close yet Far

We just spent this past weekend in this beautiful home. Two families stayed together. We had a wonderful relaxing time! We played games, spent time at the pool of which we were the only ones there and we also did a little shopping in Historic Downtown Marion and the surrounding area. We also visited the Lake James Winery. We had a mix of sun and rain. The view from the house is beautiful! My daughters ages 6 and 13 enjoyed putting the Scooby Doo puzzle together in the loft. We will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you for the hospitality!!

Easy Access to Seclusion

I stayed in this gorgeous home in June. I booked it for a week. Every year I visit this area to be with my children and grand darling who live near by in the Hickory area. The access to the property was very easy and once there, you are in total seclusion. No other homes can be seen from the property. The views of the mountains are phenominal. The home itself is in "like new" condition. The wall of glass that looks out over the mountains was stunning. The owners were super nice and I was glad to arrive early to get a chance to talk with Vince. Sharon was so kind and made me feel very welcome. The home is very tastefully decorated and the furniture is way better than any rental I have seen before. I cannot say enough good things about my stay and plan to use this home again in the future.

My wife, daughter, son in law and three month old grandson just got back from a long weekend at your cabin. It far exceeded our expectations! The cabin was fantastic and we spent the weekend exploring the area and relaxing in the cabin. The cabin was exceptionally clean, well maintained and well furnished. As advertised it is secluded in a gated community and we had the pool to ourselves on both trips down there. The brochures in the cabin provided some good information about the area and Sharon was extremely easy to work with. We are planning a return trip in the fall! Thanks.

Fantastic Place !!

My family of four (which includes two teenage girls) and another family of four (which includes two very young children) stayed June 10-13, 2010. I was quite anxious about renting sight unseen, but was ecstatic when we arrived and entered the house! It was extremely clean, inviting and roomy - large enough for everyone to have time alone if they needed in separate rooms/areas and roomy enough for everyone to be together at the same time. The deck was wonderful making the outdoors so inviting on the cool evenings. My family traveled to Biltmore which was only a 45 minute drive from the cabin. Our friends with the small children went to Tweetsie Railroad - about an hour away. We will definitely return - maybe this time for an adults only weekend as it would be a great place for a "friends gathering" - it's secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for your hospitality, Sharon. P.S. We enjoyed the smores!

Wonderful house, view & owners!

Well I wrote a review and the baby turned off my computer just before I completed it so here we go again!! We stayed here from July 8-14 for a family reunion- most of the family stayed at my aunt's house on Lake James (which is just minutes away) but those of us who came up from Miami stayed here- 6 adults/teens and a baby. The owner Sharon was here finishing cleaning (the house was spotless) when we arrived and was very welcoming. We were all very comfortable and loved the house with it's huge balcony that wrapped around half the house, great picture windows, fabulous view, very nice kitchen, laundry room, etc. As we were spending most of our time with family we didn't get to do a lot of sightseeing but did go to Linville Falls and drove the Linville Gorge, both nearby. There are numerous falls and other interesting things to see within an hour's drive or less. We never even got around to checking out the pool area which we heard is usually empty and looked very nice in the photos- we were always over at the lake. You really get a lot for your money with this nice secluded and safe property, and we were very appreciative to be treated by my aunt and uncle this time. The one bummer was that my husband lost his wallet the third day of the trip. We looked everywhere at both houses and just could not find it- he was certain he must have dropped it at the store since it was just gone. As we were checking out we passed Sharon driving through the entrance and I mentioned it to her just in case. Lo and behold a couple hours later, as we were just hitting the road to the airport she called- she found it behind the bushes outside while watering the plants!! That was really great of her to be honest and return it to us- we were certainly in no position to lose a couple hundred dollars and it saved the hassle of having to go through extra security at the airport and get a new license, etc. Hopefully next time we come to the area we can hold on to our money long enough to visit the Biltmore Estate or go shopping at one of the old general stores! Anyway, great vacation, wish we could have stayed another week, definitely looking forward to doing it again as soon as possible. Thanks so much for the hospitality!! :o)

Peaceful, Relaxing and Beautiful!

We stayed 4 nights last week at this beautiful cabin/home. The wrap around deck provides a place to sit and view Table Rock as well as purple/orange sunsets. We even enjoyed eating breakfast at the table on the shaded porch. There is plenty of room in the cabin for family time playing a game or to sit and read. We enjoyed eating most of our meals at the cabin. We went every day where we had the pool to ourselves. The owners are really nice, flexible and easy to book with. The location is great as it is really close to Lake James and Linville Falls but very peaceful when you are at the cabin surrounded by trees. We are already trying to find a date to go back!

I wouldn't really call this a cabin - it's more like a home. It has all the luxuries of home and doesn't lack anything. It's in a wonderfully quiet wooded spot but still has a fantastic open view of the mountains from the deck. The view is wonderful to watch at sunset - soooo relaxing. I would recommend staying here to everyone - it's brand new and doesn't lack anything! It's also easy to get to several towns from its' location.
