Small but sweet! Lots of wood accents and a fireplace give this recently remodeled studio a warm, cozy feel, perfect for a couple seeking a private mountain getaway or small family looking for an affordable ski vacation where you can park the car and forget about it for a few days.
- Walk to lifts!
- Sleeps 4 (1 queen and 2 single bunk beds)
- Great mountain views! (See link below for more photos)
- SUMMER SPECIAL: up to 1 week for only $550!
For ski and mountain lovers, this cozy, affordable, newly-remodeled studio is located on the big Meadow across the street from Kirkwood Mountain Resort, featuring some of the deepest snow and best ski terrain in the country. A few steps out the back door is direct access to XC ski and snow shoe trails in winter and hiking, mountain biking, and an 18-hole disk golf course in summer. We are on the quiet side of 'The Meadows' building with your own private balcony overlooking the Meadow with spectacular views of Red Cliffs and the surrounding mountains. The main lifts are a short walk (4-5 min.) across the street, or an even shorter shuttle ride, if you prefer not to walk in ski boots. Shuttles run every 10-15 minutes in winter.
One of the nicest features is the on-site, indoor Jacuzzi, just a few steps down the hall adjacent to the building's spacious lounge, so you don't have to leave the building to take a soak. This is a quiet location near the north end of 'The Meadows' building, providing a relaxing getaway with cozy fireplace (wood supplied), no phones or cable TV (but it does have a DVD/video player and modest film library (or bring your own) to watch movies, and Bub’s Pub sports bar is only a block down the street if you want to catch the “big game.”) For those seeking more excitement, South Lake Tahoe is only a 35 minute drive.

Hi Roger and Sandy, I just wanted to follow up and let you guys know that we had a great trip! Good weather, few crowds, and your place was fantastic. We all were really happy with how clean everything was, how easy your instructions to access it were, and just the whole vibe of the studio, in general. We are hoping to get up there another time during the season, and I will definitely be contacting you guys again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

My wife, 12-year-old son, and I enjoyed our stay in this well-thought-out condo. The owners are very helpful, supplying clear instructions and responding quickly via email, text, and phone. The location is close enough to walk anywhere we wanted to go, from lifts to restaurants to the general store, but far enough away from the village to be quiet and relaxing.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

What a wonderful and cozy condo! We stayed in this unit 5 weekends this past winter and highly recommend for those wanting a remodeled unit (very tastefully done!) at an affordable price and close to the lifts. We're a family of three and found it to be just right. The mattress on the queen bed is VERY comfortable - great after a hard day of skiing!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and five year old son stayed in this studio over the past weekend & we were pleasantly pleased by the ease with accessing the keys, unloading luggage & parking. The studio unit is accurately described and photographed in the listing. The bathroom which was not photographed is also nice. There was plenty of space in the unit for our family to comfortably "hang out". There is a closet in the entrance way to store coats and luggage. There are also empty drawers in a chest to put things if you needed. We used the hooks to hang wet gloves, etc. after a day of skiing. We were able to cook our meals there. No dishwasher, but there was dish soap and drying rack. The owner was responsive and easy to work with. We have already booked the place for a return visit.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

We stayed in this unit for three nights in Jan. 2010 and enjoyed it so much we added a fourth. The unit is quiet and clean with easy access to the outside. The owners have added many extras and personal touches that make the your stay feel cozier. I have stayed at many studios through out the Meadows and found this unit to be one of my favorites. The owners are very easy to work with !Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

We had a great family weekend! The studio was very modern and our kids loved the bunkbeds. The fireplace was nice to come home to after a day in the snow. It was very quiet at the location but close to skiing and all amenities. The kids were able to play right off the balcony which they (and we) loved. We will definitely go back.Owner response: Just to be clear, playing off the balcony is only possible with enough snow to reach the second floor. Not an uncommon occurrence by mid-winter, given Kirkwood's typically prodigious snowfall, but not guaranteed.

Very clean, with newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom and new carpet. At the end of the hall so very little hall noise, great view out the back, one of the few condos in Kirkwood with a spa inside--a definite benefit after a big powder day of skiing. Can walk to lifts or direct access to cross country skiing. For non skiers, we were there before the Kirkwood opened and didn't see a soul. It was very beautiful and peaceful. For outdoors types there is plenty of great terrain to hike, snowshoe, x-country ski, mountain bike and a cozy fireplace to return to at night with wood provided.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Long before we met and married, we were both 'ski bums' in our former lives. Owning a place in the mountains with close access to the slopes has been a back-burner dream ever since.
Why the Owner Chose Kirkwood:
In two words: Great Skiing! But also access to great hiking, mountain biking, snow shoeing, XC skiing, disk golf and scenery. Better snow than Tahoe, closer drive, less traffic, and much less hustle and bustle. But if you want to catch a show or gamble, South Lake is a little over half an hour drive.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Small but sweet! Lots of wood accents and a fireplace give this recently remodeled studio a warm, cozy feel, perfect for a couple seeking a private mountain getaway or small family looking for an affordable ski vacation where you can park the car and forget about it for a few days.
