Our 'White Pine Retreat' is a privately situated 1800 sq. foot lake home with a spectacular view of Wasson Lake. This spacious cabin will accommodate up to 14 persons. With 4 bedrooms, two full baths, laundry facilities, large living/dining/kitchen area, walkout lower level with a large screened porch with a large picnic table and chairs - you won't have to worry about feeling crowded! The solarium dining room provides a view of Wasson Lake that is absolutely breathtaking. Two weber grills are provided, as well as an extra refrigerator in the attached garage. A private fire pit is on the grounds for you to enjoy a campfire under the stars. Your private dock is directly in front of your cabin. There is a nice grassy area for playing yard games.
White Pine Retreat is perfect for those who want the feel of a private cabin but still want the amenities of a resort. Loon Point Resort, about a 5 - 7 minute walk from White Pine Retreat via a private drive, has a concrete boat landing for your use, fishing boats/motors to rent, a fish cleaning house, as well as complimentary items such as kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddling boards, sailboat, paddleboat, playground, volleyball/badminten, basketball, hiking trails. While you can swim off the dock at White Pine, the resort has a nice sandy beach area and a RAVE water trampoline. All of the resort amenities are included with your rental of White Pine Retreat.
With the resort owners (who own White Pine) on site (about a 5 minute walk or brief drive from your cabin), you can be assured that your every need will be met. We can provide you with information on things to do in the area, help you with tips for fishing on Wasson Lake, even loan you things you may have forgotten. And our Lodge is here for you to use as well. A pool table, foosball, board games, and a lending library of a variety of books are all available for your use. The lodge also has Schwan's ice cream for sale as well as T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, gift items and postcards.

Wasson Lake is an exceptionally clear lake and exceptionally scenic. With numerous bays and four islands, you'll enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating. There is no public boat access (only the access from the resort), so you will feel like it's your own private lake. The lake is noted for smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegills (sunfish) and crappies. You are sure to see loons and hear them calling as well as observe eagles. There is an eagle nest on the island closest to the White Pine Retreat. You'll see the eagles soaring right in front of your cabin. A hummingbird feeder is right outside the dining room windows, great for viewing hummingbirds coming to feed.
Winter is another great time to stay at the White Pine Retreat. You'll have direct access to hundreds of miles of fantastic snowmobile trails. There's gas and restaurants nearby. If you're in to cross-country skiing, the area has numerous groomed trails. The nearest trails are 20 minutes from White Pine Retreat. For something totally different - consider trying dogsledding! We'll get you hooked up with an outfitter in our area.
Fall provides excellent opportunities for grouse hunting, deer hunting, biking and hiking, and simply touring the area to take in the beauty of the fall colors. While there's no pets allowed during the summer, starting in mid-September, we can allow dogs with prior permission.
To experience a truly relaxing vacation, come and stay at the White Pine Retreat. You can enjoy the quiet seclusion, yet be close to a variety of activities and local attractions to keep everyone in your group happy.

About the owner: Steve and Nancy Roth purchased this property and the adjacent resort (currently named Loon Point Resort, formerly named Kenadian Acres Resort) in 1993. We are 'full-time' resorters who are here 24/7 to provide our guests a great vacation experience.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Rapids:
Wasson Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. The lake is extremely clear. The location is in one of the most scenic parts of the state and we're close enough to Grand Rapids to enjoy a mid-sized town that is bustling with activity, has a nice selection of shopping and restaurants, arts opportunities as well as special events in the summer. We also have direct access to great snowmobile trails and close to groomed cross-country ski trails for winter fun.
