Do you want to walk out of your condo and onto miles of beach? Many folks have to walk down the street to the beach -- you walk across a few feet of lawn. Our 1st floor condo is decorated and fully furnished to make you feel right at home. It is a two bedroom, two bath unit with a 52" LCD HDTV, air conditioning and ceiling fans.

There are natural Hawaiian tradewinds which keep the temperature just right. Ample parking and a handicap parking spot at our front door makes it very convienent. The kitchen has pretty much everything. There is a barbeque area with either gas or charcoal grills out by the pool.

FREE WI-FI DSL High-Speed Internet Access is now available for our guests. We are the owners, but if you need anything, we have a local manager who will assist you while staying in our condo.

We are located on the beach off a street that ends at Haycroft Park and next to 56 square miles [691 acres] of one of the few natural wetlands remaining in the Hawaiian Islands. This is a pretty special place. Walk out your door a few feet to the longest sandy walking beach on Maui (3+ miles to the Ancient Hawaiian Fishpond along Sugar Beach) and walk a short distance the other direction - to restaurants, the Maui Ocean Center, shopping, and best of all - most of the ocean activities available on Maui (sunset cruises, fishing, Molokini snorkling, whale watching November-April). For a REAL convenience and only $1, take the local bus (in front of The BEACH BUM Restaurant) to Lahaina (non-stop); Kihei or Downtown.

If going to Maui on vacation and being on a beach is important to you, then this first floor Maui beach condo is the place to be. We are very central to the island activities and conveniently located about nine miles from the airport.

Bus service is available from the airport with a transfer at the Queen Ka'ahumanu shopping center [$2.00]. Go the to Maui County website for the complete Bus Schedule and routes. Car rentals are mostly located at or near the airport [OGG].

Ma'alaea Harbor is one of two historic harbors where boats depart for ocean activities. You are close enough to see the harbor and walk to it but you barely hear the harbor boats coming and going. Either taking early morning walks on the beach and to the harbor where you can have coffee or breakfast at one of the local spots, or early evening strolls for PUPUs at the local restaurants are both very enjoyable.

The name "Ma'alaea" comes from ancient times when this was a special sheltered fishing harbor. "Alaea" means 'early earth' and the red soil, as a dye, was frequently used in sails to protect them from the sea salt. During the 1870's, Capt. Daniel McGregor (McGregor Point) frequently used this area when he was involved in interisland trading.
