Map & Owner's Profile
Year Purchased: 2002
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge
After an exhaustive, one-year search we finally found "the one." In 2002, we purchased the premium, private, secluded lot that sits on top of Sunrock Mountain. We subsequently brought in a master craftsman to build a truly custom cabin. We tried to spare no detail in furnishing the interior with upscale lodge rustic décor. The close proximity to the city of Blue Ridge and nearby recreational activities was an added bonus. Located just 75 miles from Atlanta, it is easy to see why Blue Ridge has become such a popular North Georgia travel destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The Mountaintop Getaway cabin is a luxurious retreat that offers a majestic, 70+ mile, year-round view of the Appalachian Mountains. The cabin is ideally situated in the heart of nature and tranquility on one of the most private lots on Sunrock Mountain. Again, the long-range view is simply breath-taking.
Mountaintop Getaway boasts a number of unique features like a 7-person jacuzzi hot tub that sits under a covered gazebo with a surround sound stereo system, a 100+ movie DVD collection, an outdoor fire pit, and wrap around bar in the basement. The cabin offers 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 full baths, a screened porch with fireplace, large deck for grilling out, air-hockey, Wii game system, poker/card table, and fully-equipped kitchen.
The cabin is located next to an abundance of recreational activities like white water rafting on the Ocoee River (home of the 1996 Olympic White Water Rafting Competition), horseback riding, fishing, boating, hiking , canoeing, and golf to name just a few. Of course, you are allowed to simply “chill out” and escape city life by taking a nap in the hammock, enjoying the fresh mountain air on a rocking chair, or walking down a nature trail.
The cabin was professionally decorated with high-end furnishings and lots of attention was paid to the little details. There are his/her robes, board games, and cookbooks. Pets are welcome. No smoking is allowed.
Owner's Map of Blue Ridge
It's been easy to see why Blue Ridge has become such a popular North Georgia destination since we first discovered the area in 2002. Throughout the year, our family has enjoyed vacationing because of the abundance of recreational activities like rafting, fishing, boating, and hiking. The pristine beauty of mountain landscapes, trails, scenic overlooks, and rivers make for the ultimate getaway.
You truly have to stay at the Mountaintop Getaway to appreciate all it has to offer!

This is a perfect getaway. The cabin is beautiful, modern and very clean with wonderful huge windows showcasing the magnificent view. We enjoyed spending time on the screened porch and on the huge deck. The hot tub was an added bonus and the movies and games kept us entertained at night after a full day of hiking and exploring. Everything we needed was provided. We loved our weekend here and can't wait to come again. Our dog had a blast and wonders why we can't live here full time.

The cabin and the view are gorgeous. The cabin is large and has everything you could ever need or want. There are enough amenities to keep adults and children occupied and entertained. There is a vast movie selection, large televisions, a Wii, a Galaga/Ms. Pacman machine, games, books, fireplaces, an awesome outdoor pit fire area, jacuzzi, hammock, outdoor deck and screened in deck. The views are fantastic. We cooked every night and ate at the beautiful dining room table. The interior is very well decorated and intelligently designed. My dog loved the place. You will be very happy with this location. I recommend it without reservation and would return anytime.

We drove up from Atlanta to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days. There was a beautiful fresh layer of snow on the ground and a perfect 50 degrees. During the day we relaxed played board games and drank bloody mary’s. At night we had great meals, soaked in the hot tub and had a bon fire and made smores. This was just the perfect environment for what we needed. We will recommend this place to all our friends and family. Thank you

We wanted to have a brief family reunion that was way over dew. The weather was 45 degrees and beautiful when we arrived. There were so many fun things to do including the apple orchards a must see. We played 18 holes at White Path Golf course and sat around playing board games and catching up with one another. This place is amazing with every accommodation you could imagine. The attention to detail was very impressive. Very rustic and inviting and the view was breath taking. We wished we could have stayed longer and do plan on returning.

We drove up from Florida to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and arrived to snow covered wonderland. We went to Ruby Falls, De Sote Falls and Annicola Falls and were not disappointed with any. We had snowball fights, grilled out and enjoyed sunsets and the spectacular view. This will be a anniversary near and dear to our hearts to cherish forever. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Comments from Guestbook... We must agree with everyone else in this book! The best cabin we have ever rented. The view is breathtaking and the cabin is wonderfully decorated! We relaxed the minute we parked our car and wish we had an entire week here. We are planning on visiting 1-2 times every year. Thank you for sharing your incredible cabin with us.

Comment from Guestbook...What a beautiful home! Well worth the 18 hours it took to drive from Des Moines, Iowa. We have enjoyed our week here very much – it was a much needed vacation for us all. We enjoyed all of our activities including: whitewater rafting, hiking the Appalachian Trail, shopping in Blue Ridge, seeing the double feature at the Swan drive-in movie theater, and horseback riding. We also loved all the time in the cabin: lounging in the hot-tub, watching movies, playing cards, spending time by the fire, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying the peace and quiet! We thank you for sharing your home with us. The décor is gorgeous and we appreciate all of the “small” accommodations too – lawn chairs, flashlights, board games – you’ve thought of everything! Guests from Des Moines, Iowa

Comments from Guestbook...This is our first stay in the Georgia mountains with our friends and we absolutely loved the accommodations – not a thing that we needed was missing from this lovely cabin. It was just the right amount of space for two families to spread out in, and for the kids to enjoy their first vacation together. The furnishings are so comfortable and just what we would have if we were so lucky to live in a cabin. We visited the Annicola Falls, rode the scenic railroad, grilled out, visited the parks, played games downstairs, and enjoyed views from the decks and hot-tub. Thank you much for the hospitality – we hope to be back for future vacations and we will definitely recommend this cabin to our family and friends!!
