Bear Necessities is located on beautiful Cherry Log Mountain and is ideally located between Blue Ridge and Ellijay and is a short drive from the Atlanta Metro Area. The cabin is well appointed with a cozy mountain view and it has amenities for relaxation (deck, patio, hot tub, pool table, fire pit) as well as Wi-Fi to you to stay connected to friends and family (okay, and maybe even work). And, we are pet friendly!
There is plenty to do during the day—surf & turf outdoor activities abound and you can also take retail excursions to the shops of Blue Ridge and McCaysville, as well as visit the flea market in Murphy, NC (about 35 minutes north) on the weekends. For the gals, there are spas/salons and who doesn't love a good massage or a mani/pedi?

About the owner: I am a Program/Project Manager for a large IT computer consulting company and I like to get away from my desk and stay at my cabin. My two dogs also enjoy their time at the cabin as well. We all love sitting on the porch, relaxing in the mountain air and sunshine and just taking it all in. We all need a place to go to recharge our batteries...and my cabin is that place for me and I hope that it will be the same for you, too.
Why the Owner Chose Cherrylog:
The North Georgia Mountains are beautiful and they are only 1 hour and 40 minutes from Atlanta--so peace, relaxation, and outdoor adventure is close to home! Hiking is a favorite attraction on the Benton MacKaye Trail, the ASKA Trails Area; the Appalachian Trail is also close by. You can partake in Water Sports on Lake Blue Ridge, the Toccoa River, or the Ocoee River. The Ocoee White Water Rafting Center for the 1996 Olympics is also nearby. The ASKA Adventure Area is known for its mountain biking. Local attractions include the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, Mercier Orchards, the Swan Drive-in Theatre. Don't forget about shopping in downtown historic Blue Ridge and McCaysville; Murphy, NC hosts a flea market on the weekend that is worth the 40 minute drive where you can get a great deal on good quality throw rugs.

You can take in the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta and see the Pandas, or attend a major sporting event (Atlanta Braves Baseball, Atlanta Hawks Basketball, Atlanta Thrashers Hockey, or Atlanta Falcons Football).
