If we were going to have a place at the ocean, we would want it to look just like this. Beautifully decorated home, spectacular views, nice deck and lounge chairs for viewing the ocean and suntanning, very clean, peaceful, and comfortable. Wonderful, relaxing getaway. Very nice owners. We have visited the place 3 times this year and have recommended it to our friends.

Poor Management!

We arrived late Monday night after driving for 10 hours to find the rental had not been cleaned from the last guest. The bedding was not made or changed, the towels where all piled on the kitchen floor next to a full stinky trash can. The bathrooms where disgusting with urine and hair all over the place. The house had a musky smell from the trash. We had to go purchase new towels, bedding, and cleaning supplies. As you can imagine having to go purchase supplies and then go back to the place you rented and clean was not really relaxing. We tried contacting the owner with no luck. We left messages on the emergency contact number with no call backs as well as the regular number. Also the hot water tank does not seem to be working as well as it should. All in all the management has failed to provide the service we paid for. I would not recommend this house based mostly on the owners.

Owner response:It is with great sadness that someone has had this experience in our home while we were out of the country for two weeks and lacked the availability of consistant telephone or internet. We thought we had made all advance arrangements for our guests to enjoy our home at our usual high level of service but due to communication breakdown and human error our home had not been cleaned and our emergency contact was unavailable. There are always additional towels, bedding and sheets provided in the cabinets, besides the ones already provided that were apparently used. There is also a washer and dryer on site. We purchased a new router for the wifi the week before leaving town and it has been working all along and is currently working, according to our present guest. We have offered a 50% refund of the rent paid, given that the 5 guests chose to stay and enjoy the home and it's surroundings. There was $100 cash left in the home by the prior guest still unaccounted for by this guest, so this situation is currently unresolved. This is the first time in 7 years of our ownership that this combination of circumstances has regretfully occured. We are accustomed to a high level of care for our guests! We are not a property management company but two people trying to share our wonderful home with others at a consistently high level of service at a fair price and we have learned a difficult lesson the hard way (about leaving the country!). We are hopeful we can resolve the issue. Mike and Cathy

We stayed a week. You are at the edge of a small bluff over a pebble beach. Excellent views of surf, storms and sunsets! The home was clean and well appointed. We would like to return next year for another week.

a house with a view

We have had the pleaure of staying here 3 or 4 times. The home is located with the most beautiful view. If is raining you can sit inside and still enjoy the view. The two bedrooms allow for nice privacy and the beds are so comfortable. To get to the beach you must be able to climb some stairs but it is worth every step. We look forward to our next visit

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at this beach house. Our three little girls loved playing on the back porch and at the private beach down below. We also enjoyed short day trips up through Boardman State Park and down into the Redwoods in California. We saw so many whales, including quite a few spouts just out from the house. The house was clean, neat, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

What a beautiful location, what a lovely home! Just returned from a weekend at you wonderful beach house and I can't say enough about it. Beautiful views, great accomodations and so peaceful and an incredible getaway ... and we won our softball tournament to boot! We hope to return every year.

Our family of 4 stayed on the Oregon coast for a week last year and we didn't think we could top that vacation...but we did! The Ocean View Cove beach house was the perfect place for our family to create wonderful memories. It has an open split bedroom floor plan, lots of windows with beautiful views, a relaxing hot tub, super comfortable beds and the best beach ever! My kids (9 and 5 years old) went wild over the tide pools and the creatures that live in them. Charter fishing, the Rogue River Mailboats in Gold Beach and Ocean World in Crescent City were fun too!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Let's talk winter, as in January 2009, at the "Beach House". 1st, you should know the Redwoods and lots of "daytrips" are close by and the beach house makes an excellent base. Did I do any of this? Of course not! This trip was about reading books, watching and listening to the sea crash over the rocks and race to the sand, mucking about on the shore for newly arrived treasures, living the sunrises and sunsets. Sitting in the rocker and dosing off in the early afternoon. Oh yes, this is the stuff that recharges your soul! The down comforters are just splendid, the beds oh so comfy, and the kitchen is well appointed. Mike and Cathy have taken the Beach House and done something special, it can be your destination or just a great place to stay. The Beach House is on my "A" list. As General McArthur once said "I Shall Return"!

AHHHHH! That was just what the Dr. ordered..We had such a relaxing time. We did not leave until the night before we were leaving and that was even thought about! We went to the Nautical Inn for dinner and that too was sooo wonderful..perfect ending to a perfect 3 days. Our friends loved our new vacation spot!!!! We could also see the St. George Reef Lighthouse. Your home was decorated great for a rental on the coast. One of the things I enjoyed was the books you had available for guests. Mike & Cathy, Oh my gosh! A place that is all it's advertised to be! You are so blessed to own this property. We had a really great time - a time of refreshing and relaxing. The weather was glorious just like it was made special just for us. We could see the St George lighthouse without the binoculars. Our friends 50th birthday was memorable. We give it a solid 10 (out of 10)!!!

We had such a wonderful time at your beach house. It is a peaceful, relaxing, quiet spot to spend a week in. The house had everything we needed, and then some; it is more than comfortable...it is homey, cozy and warm. The ocean "cove" below is spectacular. We have arrived back home safe and sound from our fantastic holiday on the Oregon Coast! We were extremely pleased with your house, the photos do not do it justice! It is a great beach house and we loved the decor. The beach was awesome!!!!!!! We arrived at high tide and in the morning it was a whole different beach - we had a great time exploring the tide pools!
