  What a beautiful beach house with a short walk to the beach. The owners were excellent to work with and the house is well stocked for a wonderful vacation. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again in the future!

  Thank you so much for opening your home to us in May 2013. This house was very well-stocked with all sorts of beach equipment, umbrellal, chairs, toys for the kids, games, DVDs, kitchen staples, etc. The house is about 2 blocks from the beach, a short 5 min walk which even my 2 year old could handle. The wagon was very helpful in getting stuff to and from the beach. The Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs were a blessing in keeping our hands free to lug other things or wrangle the kids to and from the beach. The beds were comfortable, and we had all the blankets, pillows, kleenex, toilet paper, everything we needed. The place was very clean and much larger than it seemed in the pictures online. The top bunk has a rail that was nice enough to feel comfortable with my 4 year old up there. Overall we had a great trip and would definitely consider staying here again! If you go, don't miss: ferry to Southport which is a cute quaint town with a nice picnic area by the water. Also, we loved the Tiki Bar and Grill restaurant just near the house. The peel & eat shrimp and crab legs were great!

  The listing was accurate and the photos do not give justice to how spacious the property really is. We celebrated Thanksgiving and were able to seat and cook for 10 adults and 2 small children. The kitchen was fully stocked and it allowed us to enjoy home cooking just as if we were spending the holiday at home. The house was clean and very well maintained with all sorts of amenities for the beach. We definitely recommend the property and if our family visits Carolina Beach again we will look to stay in the Irish Eyes.

  Our stay at Irish Eyes was perfect for celebrating the week of our Dad's 90th birthday. He stayed in the downstairs master bedroom which made for easier access for him. We loved using the kitchen and doing jigsaw puzzles at the other end of the big table. Thanks so very much!

  My family had a fantastic time, and would highly recommend this rental. While it is a very short five minute walk to the beach, you cannot beat the great accomodations in this beautiful, quiet, updated, and well maintained property. The house is well equipped and roomy. The owners are fantastic to deal with and provided timely and helpful communication as we discussed our booking and arrival. They also quickly provided our rental deposit back when we were done, following check-out inspection. The beach was not crowded, and provided us with a relaxing and fun stay. Carolina Beach is quaint and friendly, and Wilmington and its amenities are very close by; and the aquarium is a must-do if you encounter a rainy day. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation.

  This was our first time coming to Carolina Beach after taking many family beach vacations in Virginia. It took a couple of days to adjust to the change in locations, but we were comfortable with Irish Eyes right from the start. It's very attractive and comfortable, with lots of amenities that made our trip easier (less packing required) and more enjoyable. The only two items we really missed from other beach houses where we've stayed are: the outdoor shower is not enclosed, and hanging the towels/bathing suits in the garage doesn't dry them out as well as hanging them up in the sun. The beach umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, and cart were GREAT to have at the house - loved not having to bring all of that gear from home! The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked - and so nice to be able to share condiments compared to typical beach houses where you arrive to a 100% empty refrigerator/kitchen. It's a short straight walk to the beach where a lifeguard was stationed all week, which was reassuring since we have four kids. The beach itself is very different from high tide (pretty narrow sand area) to low tide (fantastic time for the kids to roam around exploring the ocean, as it was only a foot or two deep for a long way out. While just enjoying the beach was our favorite activity, we also enjoyed a trip to Fort Fisher and the Aquarium and enjoyed the boardwalk area for rides, food, and fireworks. On the way home, we took the ferry from Fort Fisher to Southport for one last memorable experience. We will definitely look at returning to Irish Eyes for our next beach vacation!

  We came for our annual beach trip to Irish Eyes for one week. This was by far our favorite house for many reasons. Everything was so close and accessible. The beach was just a short walking distance from the home.The house was equipped with everything you can think of that you may need and had a lot of space. The bedrooms were spacious. We loved the open kitchen and dining/living room area. Our 2 small children had plenty of room to play and enjoyed their first bunkbed experience. We are looking forward to returning here in the near future!!! Thank you!

  Our family were guests at this fabulous house for the week of June 9-16. All agreed it was the best rental we had ever had at the beach. Our sons are chefs and cooking was a high priority. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed to feed twelve or more. We hosted other family members and friends during the week and all agreed it was more than the usual beach house experience. The home was decorated tastefully with wonderful artwork and interesting objects. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room for relaxing as well as sleeping. The owners provided beach chairs, bikes, boogie boards and a grill with charcoal for use while visiting. Honestly there was nothing more we could have asked for. Not only that but we received a call from the owners welcoming us on the date of arrival and asking if everything was as expected as well as were given a choice of wine from their personal cabinet. The landscaping was well maintained and added to the ambiance of the home. We were within two blocks of the beach so walking was an option. A nearby park was great for early morning walks as well as coffee shops and the local doughnut establishment. We all had a wonderful vacation and the home was certainly a delightful retreat. It is highly recommended as an outstanding beach home by all of us. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing home.

  We stayed Thanksgiving week, 2 families consisting of 3 adults and 2 teenaged girls. The house was beautiful, clean and very roomy. The pictures on this web site don’t do it justice. The neighborhood was quiet and there was very little traffic. Irish Eyes has all the amenities you need for a wonderful family vacation. The owners were available for questions and gave helpful suggestions for area attractions. The location was perfect, we walked to the beach and right down the road is Fort Fisher and the Aquarium, & Kure beach Pier. Wilmington is just a short drive away. Carolina Beach itself has plenty of places to shop and eat. There are plenty of things to see and do for children of all ages.

  This is a beautiful house, decorated well and extremely clean. The floor plan allows for plenty of family time, or a chance to find a quiet spot for some time alone. The owners were wonderful to work with and have thought of all the "extras" above and beyond any other property where we have stayed. The kitchen is fully stocked including spices and a laptop with internet service! Inside, our children had a great time reading books, watching movies, and playing with the toys and games. Outside, we took advantage of all the amenities in the garage including boccee, bikes and boogie boards. Walking to the beach took less than five minutes. Thanks to the wagon, we could pack up and go with lunch and toys for the entire day. Carolina Beach is a great little town with plenty of entertainment. We enjoyed a movie at the lake, the aquarium, a ferrry ride to Southport, drinks on the pier, and fire works on the beach. If your family likes doughnuts be sure to try Britt's on the boardwalk! Irish Eyes was the most comfortable home away from home. We are currently planning to return for our 2011 summer vacation and will definately pack less thanks to all that Irish Eyes has available for us to enjoy.
