Great pet friendly spot for my wife and I. Cozy and clean condo with everything we needed for a short ski get-away. We'll visit again hopefully next year.

We were in desperate need for a weekend trip to Tahoe, but had trouble finding a place that was dog friendly on such short notice. We came across Laurie's place on VRBO. It looked great. But, we hadn't been to Northstar for years - we usually go to Squaw. So, we spent a day or so studying Google maps, did a little research on the resort and concluded that the location was probably pretty good. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find the condo is centrally located between the ski runs and Northstar Village. The location is perfect. You are practically on the mountain, but you don't have all of the noise and foot traffic from the Village. If you want to go out for dinner or a drink, it's only a 5-minute walk to the Village with multiple restaurants and bars to choose from. Or, you can walk down the hill and take a ride on the Gondola to the Ritz Carlton (no lift ticket required). The Condo itself is cozy, clean and warm. In fact, the heating system had the place toasty in a matter of minutes. It's also quiet and friendly, everyone we came across was very nice and welcoming. And Macy (the beagle) had plenty of room to run around in the snow outside. I would definitely recommend the condo to couples and those with small kids and/or a dog. It might be a bit tight for larger groups. Laurie was great to work with. The keys were in the lock box when we arrived and the security deposit was promptly returned within a few days of us departing.

While we expected Northstar to be packed for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend, we were pleasantly surprised by how open the slopes were on both Friday and Saturday. There were really no lines on the backside and reasonable crowds at Mid-Mountain. The weather was glorious and the condo suited our needs perfectly. It offered all the amenities, plus benefits - the rec center was convenient, clean and again, not that crowded on a Saturday after skiing. We loved the easy access to the resort, just a short walk from the cabin -- skied in and out very easily. The added perk of sledding just outside and up the hill was fabulous fun. Our stay couldn't have been better - it exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Thank you Laurie for your hospitality and for supporting the Shapiro family. We hope to rent your condo again in the near future. Happy New Year!!

I rented this condo from Laurie as a Christmas present for my husband. We took our dog up here for 4 days and 3 nights. Laurie was such a pleasure to work with and very prompt in getting back to us about anything. She also checked in on us shortly after arrival and departure. The condo itself was more than I had expected! The pictures didn't do it justice, it was so clean and cozy and Kona really enjoyed seeing snow for the first time! We were a short drive or walk from the village and only 15 minutes from the lake, where I took Kona while my husband boarded. We were able to curl up and watch movies by the fire and cook at home. I would recommend this condo to anybody and hope to return soon! Thanks so much for everything Laurie!

We spent 5 nights in a hotel in south Tahoe prior to arriving so it was a great change. The location was convenient. When we got there it was like home, clean, fully equipt with everything. It was much nicer than I imagined. The cost was affordable and they are dog friendly so we were able to bring our shih tzu, who may I add, truly didn't want to leave.. My only regret is not booking Christmas and now it's booked! I found my new home away from home... Highly recommend this wonderful condo and the owner was also super helpful and kind!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this condo for a quick weekend trip. I wanted her to see Tahoe for the first time during Summer. She loves planning trips and quickly began finding places around the lake, but I knew we would be spending the majority of time at Northstar (mountain biking, the Village, etc). I told her the tradeoff is being by the lake but somewhat "in the middle of nowhere," or being away from the lake but right next to great amenities. We decided on the latter, and it turned out to be just that. The condo is wonderfully situated right near the Village. We were able to easily hop in and out as needed. The condo itself is lovely as well. Comfy bed, great bathroom and a fully-functional kitchen. Other things that you might overlook but are definitely value-adding include a nice gas fireplace, dimmable lights, TV / DVD, nice linens and bath towels, and a tub for post-biking/skiing/hiking! Lastly, the owner was very kind, was prompt to reply to our emails, and sent an email that made the stay even easier. It had thorough instructions on how to get in and out, how to get to the Village, how to turn on the fireplace, etc. Also, they allow pets, which we didn't take advantage of but is much appreciated. 10/10 would come again.

We loved this condo - our kids slept in the comfy pull out sofa and my husband and I stayed in the cozy bedroom. Great shower pressure, walking distance to the slopes and the village, cozy living room space where we played games, watched movies and read books. Can't wait to go back. Thank you Laurie!

This was a perfect location for our family (4 yr old son and small dog). The place was cozy and clean. We played in the snow outside the condo and walked to the village each day. It was close to Truckee so we were able to get food at the Safeway for meals. Kitchen was stocked with spices and necessary cooking supplies. We hope to return here in the summer.

ideal for small families - the location is a short walk to the Northstar slopes. Laurie (owner) was easy to work with, responsive and even checked in with us via email on our first night. We loved the well stocked kitchen, and that there were lots of extra towels, extra bedding for the fold out couch and the lovely windows facing the forest. After a long day on the slopes, we relaxed by the fireplace and bbq'd steaks on the grill. we had a wonderful vacation and would highly reccommend this condo. we would love to come back for another stay!

We had a great weekend of skiing at Northstar. The condo is a great, comfortable space. We parked right out front and it was a short ~5-10 minute walk to the village at Northstar. Northstar hasn't had too much snow this year, so the access ski trail closest to the condo was closed, but the walk over to the next closest trail wasn't too bad. Our dog had a great time hanging out in the condo, exploring the new smells outside, and walking down to the village. We'd definitely come back.

We just had the most enjoyable stay at this cozy condo. It was very comfortable for 2 adults, a child and our dear little dog. We were able to eat in when we felt like it, ski during the day, and walk or catch the shuttle to the village (only a few minutes away). It was also quiet and very family oriented. We would love to stay again.

The condo comes exactly as billed. It is very clean and well maintained. Plenty of towels, fresh linens, paper products, everything you'd need besides food! A nice little getaway for a couple. Just like it says its a simple and enjoyable short walk to Northstar Village, although our visit was during the middle of the week, during the off season, so not much was going on there. Kings Beach is only about 6 miles away. We went horseback riding in Alpine Village, a little farther away, although Northstar does also advertise horseback riding as well. Although we stayed only three nights and four days, we could have easily filled a full week with activities, as anyone who knows Lake Tahoe could tell you there's plenty to do. I'd definitely recommend this charming place to anyone, you won't be disappointed.

This 1 Bed NorthStar Condo is perfect for me and my dog Juno for a summer weekend wedding. It was just up the mountain from the Village, so close enough to be near the people, yet able to be the serene quite getaway when needed. It felt like my home away from home which can be rare when staying at someone else's property. Clean, simple without too much clutter, and the cable TV & internet all worked great. Things were very easy to find specially with Laurie's wonderful instructions. And the price was great considering others that came to the wedding paid double what I did. Loved it and when in North Tahoe area for sure will come stay here again:)

My wife, son, border collie, and I had wonderful stay at this charming and cozy Northstar condo. The owner was gracious, organized, and efficient with our booking, and helpful in providing information about our stay. The condo is clean, well-maintained, and perfectly organized and decorated. We appreciated its many excellent amenities, including the kitchen, bathroom, windows to the forest, gas fireplace, convenient parking, ski locker, wi-fi, and the many channel TV (with DVD player). The location is also excellent. In a few minutes, we could walk to the Northstar Village and catch the gondola to the Mid-Mountain area, or hang out, shop, or dine. We were impressed with the charming and user friendly European style Village. We had a blast skiing and boarding at the Northstar Ski Resort -- with its range of terrain and thoughtful details. We would recommend this condo to our friends and relatives. It is great place for couples or small families, including those who like to travel with their well-behaved dog.

We loved our long weekend. Fabulous communication with Laurie (owner) Ski-in ski-out was perfect. We didn't need the car for the whole weekend. Less than 5 mins walk to the village for dog friendly cocktails with your feet warming at a fire pit and then a 10 mins stroll back up the hill or a quick, super efficient, free shuttle ride to the door. The condo was really well equipped, we're accustomed to taking "essentials" with us for holiday rentals. No need here - everything provided. Comfy beds, powerful shower, A++ kitchen, lovely fireplace, clean & new, stunning outlook onto a little forest, very private, GREAT location. All good. 5* Enjoy!

Good relaxing veiw of the huge trees outside the window. Felt like you were in a tree house. Short walk next door to ski in ski out. Nice well equiped condo on first floor. Well maintained resort. Weather fantastic. Great skiing dispite the lack of snow. Groomed trails every night. Great after ski drink in the village around a warm fire by the skate rink.

My experience with this condo was extraordinary - from start to finish. The condo itself is in a fabulous location for ski/board in and out. The place is clean and comfortable. The owner Laurie was very responsive and easy to work with. She confirmed that I could bring my dog and told me I could take him on Home Run and the Ritz gondola. I was doubtful I could work this out, but she was so right! Indeed we rode the gondola, and my dog raced after me on my snowboard. I loved staying there and hope to again SOON!

Really enjoyed our stay in this condo at the Ski Trails complex. The owner provides great information, communicates really well, and was quite professional. She even e-mailed me during our trip to see how things are going and to provide more instructions on the fireplace. While a few things are showing their age, the beds are comfortable, the place is very clean, and the kitchen is well stocked. You do need to walk across the parking lot to get to Village Run beginner run, but it's a pretty good deal considering prices in the Village. We will try to rent again!

A very comfortable property, tastefully decorated, clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our ski-getaway. We were thrilled to find a condo in Northstar that also allowed us to bring our dog. The kitchen was especially well stocked. We also appreciated the gas fireplace, which kept the condo cosy apres-ski. The location is a convenient walk to and from the village & we loved the ease of ski-in/ski-out (especially after we found the ski-in route from the Homerun trail). The loss of a star is for the convertible sofa-bed. We definitely felt its sags and bars - and ended up sleeping with the foam mattress on the floor. After our most recent trip, we considered staying again and were saddened to find it has already been booked for the dates we had in mind!
