fabric8 is very pleased to offer our Gallery Residence to guests visiting San Francisco. This fully furnished one-bedroom plus sunroom is located above the fabric8 Galleries in the Mission District.
The spacious, tastefully decorated apartment has plenty of natural light throughout and overlooks the fabric8 garden. Its features include:
• a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen with gas stove and all the amenities necessary to prepare your own meals
• a queen-size bed and a full-size sofa bed, comfortably sleeping three guests
• a TV with DVD player, WiFi, and an iPhone/iPod radio
• a sunroom/artist studio that is surrounded by windows on three sides, with both a writing desk and a Kawai digital piano. Painting easels are available upon request.
• a fully-updated private bathroom with a Victorian clawfoot bathtub
An authentic San Francisco living experience, we are located steps away from bustling Valencia Street boutiques, cafes, bookstores, restaurants, and nightlife. Just like the locals, you can begin your day with brunch at Boogaloos then meander down the Valencia corridor for a fantastic array of curiosities and delights. Venture to Dolores Park to catch some sunshine and enjoy the diversity that defines the city. Have an afternoon snack at Tartine Bakery or Pizzeria Delfina.
And, on your way back, visit the legendary Lucca’s Delicatessen and local produce/meat markets to gather ingredients for a fresh and delicious dinner that you can prepare in your own kitchen. Alternately, dine at one of the numerous and eclectic restaurants within a two-block radius: Beretta, Spork, Dosa, Kiji, Lolo, Velvet Cantina, Esperpento, and Garcon. Cap it off with a drink at Foreign Cinema, Latin American Club, or The Lone Palm.
The fabric8 Residence is an extension of our gallery and features artwork from some of our favorite local artists. If available, you can request artwork from one of the many artists we represent, and live with it before you purchase.
fabric8 Galleries has an active events schedule, so you can time your visit for an art opening or other happening, such as fabric8’s current “Street Food Fridays” series, a weekly garden party that hosts some of the area’s top food carts. You can also schedule your own private event in our gallery space and garden.
The fabric8 Gallery Residence is a short walk to the 24th Street Mission BART station, providing easy access to the entire SF Bay Area and Airports.
Please note that this apartment is also home to our artist-in-residency program, so it is ideal to book your stay well in advance.

Great Neighborhood for City Tourists

The Gallery Residence and location was perfect for a one week stay for 2-3 adults. The neighborhood had anything and everything available that one could need or want... food shops for eating in and a variety of restaurants. Public transportation and car rental was available nearby. The owners were extremely accomodating.
Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We loved staying here - not only was the apartment great, and well-appointed but it's filled with fantastic art! The location is also more or less perfect - near the center of the action but no street noise. We'll be back...

We stayed here as it was close to where our son lived. It is far from the tourist routes so great to feel the atmosphere of the locals. We loved the Friday night event where you could view the art and enjoy a creme brulee brought in by a local chef. There was no noise from traffic and nice and private. The owners are helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.

I haven't slept over in the residence, but I have seen it and it is beautiful. The best thing about this spot is that it's in the heart of the Mission giving visitors a nice, non-touristy view of life in San Francisco. You get a great feel for the neighborhood while also be surrounded by a ton of great places to eat and drink very close by to the apartment.

What an amazing place to stay in an amazing city. The art and decor is incredible, it's in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. Always a lot going and the owners are very helpful.

We stayed in this excellent apartment and loved it! Very cool decor, spacious with lots of light, great kitchen, right in the heart of Valencia Street. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a unique and fun getaway. We will definitely return to this spot for another visit.
