This upscale cottage is located on the scenic northeast end of Lake Chatuge six miles north of Hiawassee, Georgia and six miles east of Hayesville, North Carolina. The home is in a wooded and easily accessible, quiet neighborhood of permanent and summer residences on a moderately sloping lakefront lot. Though not secluded, it still has privacy from adjacent neighbors. A maintenance man cares for the grounds on a regular basis.
The cottage has three bedrooms and two baths with 1800 square feet on two levels. The home has ceramic tile throughout and is luxuriously appointed with accent lighting, quality furniture, bedding, and accessories. A large deck offers a beautiful panoramic view of the lake and mountains.
Lake Chatuge is a beautiful, clear water lake surrounded by mountains of both Georgia and North Carolina. The sprawling fingers of the lake with many islands and coves covers 9000 acres and has 200 miles of shoreline. A great majority of the lake borders national forest or is owned by Tennessee Valley Authority and is undeveloped. Lake Chatuge is known to have good bass fishing and is regularly stocked. Large Canadian geese can often be seen in the spectacular rural and mountain scenery.
Guest Responsibilities:
* Six-person maximum occupancy at any time.
* Guests must furnish own linens.
* No smoking inside home.
* House and furnishings must be left in clean and orderly condition.
Use of this lake home is limited to responsible guests. Guests must follow some instructions and precautions for personal safety and care of the property and the many amenities.

Fun Cruiser Deck Boat $550/six-day week (required May through October)
After Labor Day Week through Oct. and May..$180/night (three night min. weekends).
November through April $130-$160/night (three night min. weekends)
Fun Cruiser Deck Boat $300/3 day rental. $100 each extra day
Weekly Rental ONLY over Major Holidays.

Why the Owner Chose Hiawassee
We chose this home to buy as a vacation home for ourselves as well as to rent out because of the beatiful views of the mountains and lake, quiet neighborhood, peaceful surroundings and a house right on the lake without a long or steep hill to the lake.

Tony and Melinda work and live in Decatur, GA. Tony is an anesthetist at Atlanta Medical Center and Melinda works for Abbott Laboratories. Both love the outdoors and have a black lab named Becky to enjoy the outdoors with.

Traveling with a little one the home had everything we needed and more very organized and well maintained. Easy water access not on a cliff. Loved the view and having the convienence of the boat and boat dock was wonderful. Friends came over for a couple of nights that are very familiar with the area and they had a great time. Close to Ingles a plus. We are looking to buy in the area but would stay again.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.
