This is a great quiet get away for a family and or fishing trip. The canal is right at your back door. The community is friendly and quiet. This is our second year in a row to visit and stay in this house. The owner is great and very accommodating. My boy just love to fish and crab. The location is very close to town but out of all of the touristy stuff. We have recommended this house to others and thy too give it two thumbs up. The house has everything u need to cook meals there and relax on the deck to watch the sun set. Best family get away!!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Holiday Beach is a favorite of ours; the channels, bay, and private fishing pier. It was not our first stay in Holiday Beach, but our first stay at this property and we will definitely be returning. We've checked out other houses in the community and are happiest with this house. It is small, but very cozy. And very clean!! The large deck around the house is very spacious. Thanks for the pleasant stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

If you go here do not expect too much. The place is at the end of the canal and water is Dirty.Theneighbors flood light shines right into the housE and our flood light did,nt work! But theirs sure did.The screened in porch is flapping in the wind.Wood at front door is rotted out,So do not step on it.Air conditioners are very loud, they will keep you up all nite.Animal hair on furniture, black hair on cutting board in kitchen. Now I will say some good points,It is close to Goose Island Park, nice community fishing pier,WIFI and lots of movies & games for kids and adults. That,s about it....Abunch of fishing buddies might like it cause you can pull your boat up to it.But don,t plan on the fishing lite to work. And had to call several times to get my deposit back .OK Guess I,m done.....Owner response: We appreciate all feedback and sadly the feedback does not match previous guests. We have had several guests return and enjoy the house multiple times. And to our new and returning guests, over Labor Day weekend we did extend the screened in porched and fixed the door so you will now enjoy a brand new extended porch. The light was working so not sure what is going on there. Hopefully in the future the water can be clear for future guest. We do have a no smoking policy and will be strictly enforcing it in the future by not returning deposits. Thank you

This was our first vacation our kids got to see the beach. And we wanted it to be fun and special. We all felt so at home at this place. The kids got to see stars in the sky, jellyfish swimming around in the water right off the back deck, crabs, and mullets jumping out of the water. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is nice and quite. It was AWESOME!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: This makes it all worth doing. I can imagine how your children felt about the wonders of being on the coast and doing things outdoors which is becoming somewhat of a rarity these days. Making memories and cherishing the times with family is what is most important. Thanks for sharing your satisfaction with staying at our vacation home. I hope you and your family can make it back to Rockport sometime in the future. Live long and prosper, ms

This is the first time my husband and I rented a house near the coast instead of booking a hotel, and we could not have been happier with our decision! One important thing to mention (and I say this because I work at a travel agency) is that the photos provided by the owner were extremely accurate, so we had no unpleasant surprises when we arrived! We loved that we could fish right from the back of the house, and that's pretty much all we did during our stay (although we did visit the community pier where we were lucky enough to see a couple of dolphins). Our guests were just as happy with the location as we were - it was quiet and very relaxing. The house had everything we needed and was very clean and organized. The available DVDs were great for some indoor time, and the furniture and beds were super comfortable. Additionally, the gate along the deck upstairs was tall enough (and had a latch to close it) that we were able to let our dog run around the deck without worry. We can't wait to visit the Rockport area again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Debra, It's great to hear you and your family had such a good time in Rockport. I try to make the house comfortable and stocked with useful things. You are welcomed back anytime. Thanks so much for the nice review. It gives me great satisfaction to hear from folks like you and the fun times they have while at our place. Sincerly, Michael

Michael - we very much enjoyed our 5 1/2 week stay at your house in Holiday Beach this winter. We like the location, and the house met our needs very well. Thank you for answering all of our questions about the house and the area before we arrived, and for being available during our stay whenever we needed to contact you about anything else. Fishing during our stay was very good (when the weather cooperated). We caught seatrout from the pier at night, plus redfish, black drum, sheepshead, and a few flounder out on Copano Bay. The birding in the area is very good also (you have a few whooping cranes right next to Holiday Beach, on the ranch property). We're glad we brought our kayaks along, as we used them a lot. We enjoyed taking part in some of the area festivities during our stay also......including LamarDiGras, and the Fulton Oysterfest. You also have very friendly neighbors in the Holiday Beach community, which made our stay even better. We'll be back to the Rockport/Fulton/Lamar area again next year......thanks a lot!! Owner response: Robert, I am quite please to hear you and your wife were happy with our home and that you found the community and surrounding area to be a memorable vacation destination. I want to thank you for chooing our home as a retreat from winters grip as seen by many northern states this year. I feel that you were a great guest with a considerate and friendly attitude. I would gladly hope to have you back next year or sooner. Kind Regards, Mike S.

I would have to say this was one of the best family vacations we have ever done. The owner was very understanding and great to work with. The community in which the house is was wonderful. The people that live and vacation there are so nice. The house it self is in a great location with the cannal just behind the house. My boys had a blast catching blue crabs in the cannal. It made it very easy to get in and out of the bay and pulling the boat right up to the house. We look forward to doing it again. We will just have to find more homes near by to accomidate the additional families we plan on bringing back. Thank you for a great time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Team Crabby Patty. It's so nice to hear that your boys had such a good time outdoors in nature. I have similar childhood memories of fishing, crabbing, and beachcombing.Your family is always welcomed to back and stay with us. Thanks for being or guests. Good Luck, ms

We really enjoyed our stay at your house. It was even more than we expected. We didn't do any fishing but we did see a lot of fish in the canal behind the house. The entire stay was great and it was nice being close to rockport. I would recommend this house to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Jason, Glad to hear you and the family had such a great time. I try to make the place as comfortable adn useful as possible. Perhaps you can take advantage of the community fishing pier next time you visit. I know your stay would have been even slightly better with some fishing memories. Goose Island State park and the 1000 year old oak tree are just a couple of miles away. I hope you were able to visit each place. Thanks again for renting our canal side home and have a great year end. Kind regards, Michael

About the owner: I grew up spending summers in Rockport. A typical day was spent fishing, beach combing and exploring the nearby wildlife areas. Living in Houston, Texas for the past 25 yrs wanting to enhance our quality of life, I convinced my wife to buy the Channelview property as a weekend get away. It has been a wonderful way to get back to my roots with exceptional saltwater fishing and when in season some of the best duck hunting the U.S. Bird watching is another popular activitiy we have taken up. BTW The community is known nationally for outstanding bird watching and kayak fishing. To top things off we can have great Texas coast seafood prepared in a variety of ways by doing it yourself on the barby or going to one of many local resturants. I hope our guests can see the beauty of this Texas coastal community with its unique wind blown oak trees lining shores along Fulton and Rockport roads. It really is a wonderful thing to see.
Why the Owner Chose Rockport:
Of all Texas gulf coast locations this is my favorite. It still has the small town look and feel. The gulf breeze is always present with the clean smell it brings. The bays around this pristine ecosystem are great for fishing and boating. If you don't fish you can just drive the bay side roads and take in the peaceful and pleasant views offered at every turn. I have always been in love with the Rockport area and will be happy to retire there someday.
