Great Visit in March

My wife, my 2 young daughters (ages 1 and 3), my father-in-law, my mom and I took 2 weeks and visited Paris. My wife and I had visited several times before but this was the first time with kids (which is why my mom and father-in-law went - to help with the kids and also to have some time together as a family). The apartment was perfect. The building has a fine elevator but since the apartment is only one flight up, we rarely used it (even with the strollers). The location of the apartment is perfect - there is a great grocery store literally next door (there were several times when my wife was having fun practicing her french cooking and in the middle of it, ask me to quickly run down and get an ingredient - it is that convenient). There is a wonderful bakery next door (the other direction) as well. We love the street that the apartment is on - it has all of the charming little shops for which Paris is known. We spent more than one afternoon just strolling around the neighborhood. Having the apartment gave us plenty of space to stretch out and live like a local instead of trying to make do with adjoining hotel rooms. We loved the layout of the apartment. The living room/dining room have lots of light and space and were wonderful for hanging out and letting the little ones play. We loved that the apartment was all one level. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. My wife loved the kitchen. She cooked up a feast on many of the nights there and while we had intended to eat out more, we ended up enjoying the eating-in experience a great deal (it was more intimate and very cost effective). Paula was great to deal with. From when I first reached out to her, she was responsive and helpful. I loved having someone with an "American" eye (being an American, she knew what I was looking for because she could relate to my descriptions) but could translate it since she lives in Paris and knows the Momartre area very well. Her great service continued to our move-in, she gave great recommendations for a special event restaurant (my wife's birthday) and followed-up when we left. I can't recommend the apartment and Paula's services high enough. We got great value from our investment in our trip and the memories will be forever priceless!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. We love our neighborhood's convenience, warmth and charm. We hope that you come stay again soon. Cheers!

We were delighted with the apartment and the location in Montmartre. The apartment is beautifully decorated in such a way that you feel very comfortable, as if you were in your own home. Just a block away is the best bakery we have ever experienced and there is a terrific grocery store just next door. We fell into a routine of going down the street to get a baguette in the morning, brewing some coffee, and having a breakfast in the apartment of bread, cheese and orange juice. Folllowing this we explored Paris during the day, returned in the evening and went out to various restaurants in the area, all of which had charm, excellent food and very reasonable prices. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and concerns prior to arriving in Paris. We plan to return next year.
Owner response:So glad you enjoyed yourself! We look forward to having you back next year!!

Wasn't sure what to expect, and I was only ever delighted. Great apartment, conscientious owner.

I suppose this review is biased, since my family and I had the vacation of our lives in this lively, but not overly touristy, neighborhood. But here's the thing: the main reason our vacation was so good, I think, was this apartment. It's crazy big, beautifully maintained, and Paula -- who manages the property, and who lives nearby -- is supremely professional, helpful, pleasant. The place was clean, fully appointed (and has a dryer: nobody in Paris owns a dryer!), and lots of little details were thought out, simple things, I suppose, but they made a cumulative difference. Coffee filters, sugar, dish soap, all those niggling details you don't think of before arriving, and it turns out the owner's got it all covered. I couldn't have liked this place more. It was borderline magical. And... I know how this sounds. But it's true. I'll be coming back.

We have just returned from spending half term at this lovely apartment on rue Caulaincourt. The apartment was just as in the photographs and very clean and comfortable. Although we arrived on Sunday evening we had a warm welcome and a quick tour of the apartment on arrival. A real bonus was that the flat was very well equipped with all the basics-kitchen roll, olive oil etc that we often find we have to buy with holiday lets. With our 5 year old we found it easier to eat at home in the evening and found that we could find all we needed in the local shops. We explored the local area on foot-the Sacre Coeur and surrounding streets, had lunch in the 'Amalie cafe' on rue Lepique and to go further afield found it easy to use the Lamarck metro station. We explored central Paris with a boat trip and walks in the Tuilleries and around the Louvre, we visited Disneyland, obligatory with our 5 year old but could also recommend a trip to Aquaboulevard a fantastic swim centre with flumes, waves etc and also the Cite des Enfants museum-both were great indoor visits when it turns colder outside, We really loved this flat and this area and would definitely use it again for trips to explore more of wonderful Paris.

We had three couples, all family. Arrangements and payment in advance went smoothly. We were assisted in person when we arrived and well-oriented to the apartment. Nice living area to relax in; comfy table for six for dining; kitchen well-equipped with utensils, plates, cups, refridgerator, freezer space, microwave, oven; HDTV with some news channels in English; WIFI worked well; very good assortment of reference books on Paris with maps for transportation; toilette is separate from bathroom/shower; nice space in bathroom and plenty of hot water; towels and washcloths very nice; two bedrooms with queen beds and one with two twin beds; mattresses, pillows and bedding were very comfortable; we made good use of the washer and dryer in the apartment; hair dryer, cleaning supplies, hangers, etc. all available. The location is so convenient - a full-service market next door, a bakery next door the other direction, a pharmacy across the street. Although an uphill walk, you can easily walk to Sacre Coure and there are shops, artists, restaurants and a great view over the city. I had not researched bus transportation ahead of time, but two lines within 5 minutes gave options of getting to the Lourve and the other to Tour Eiffel. We could also easily get to different metro lines which made traveling in the city very convenient. The apartment is very secure and we felt safe as tourists. The street outside is busy and can be noisy - this was also true in early mornings with delivery trucks to the market next door - this was the only negative from our stay. The land-line phone service allowed us free calls to a landline in America. You should definitely consider this apartment for a stay in Paris.

Our party of 6 was very comfortably accommodated in this beautiful and very well equipped apartment. The information and assistance provided to us was excellent and meant that none of our precious time was wasted. Access to the main tourist attractions is very convenient as the local metro station is very near. The local restaurants we ate in were great and the service very helpful - even though our French was limited. Our only regret was that we didn't book a longer stay, but we will be back!
