The home was built in 1937 and has been kept in excellent condition. We upgraded it in the fall of 2003 and have continued to upgrade it over the years to give it all the amenities that you expect in a home!!
These are the reasons I think you will fall in love with the place... It is private and totally enclosed with gates, fences, and stucco walls. It is surrounded by huge bougainvillea in the front, tall, white oleander on the sides, and a stucco wall in the back. There are towering trees, a stone archway, brick walks with low stone walls, two brick/tile patios with furniture (one covered), citrus fruit trees, five person hot tub, many trees of several varieties, large grassy areas, rose garden, gated, paved driveway and more, on a quarter of an acre!!
This home is charming with ponderosa pine walls and ceilings in most rooms. Inside the house, you enter a spacious living and dining room, with an open kitchen. Most of the house has oak floors, and a very large stone fireplace in the living room (all set up with a gas log for cool evenings). You will find very comfortable furniture in the living room, along with a big screen TV, VCR, and DVD/CD in an alcove. Nestled in a second alcove is a cozy sofa bed for reading or sleeping. In the dining room is an oak table which seats eight and an oak China hutch.
The kitchen has a large peninsular bar open to the dining room with a range top in it and bar stools. The kitchen is "loaded",where you can cook and serve a fine meal, or do something simple. All china, silverware, glassware, linens, serving dishes, pots, and pans are included. There is a laundry room off the kitchen, where there is a table to fold and sort clothes out of the washer and dryer.
There are three bedrooms plus the sofa bed, which has a pop-up that will sleep two. The master bedroom has a large bay window looking out to bougainvillea, a beautiful queen-size bed, dresser, dish TV, night stand and a bath with tub and shower. The second bedroom is separated from the first bedroom by a bath, with a large shower. This bedroom has four large antique wooden windows and a very inviting sleigh bed with matching furniture. The third bedroom has bunkbeds and a desk with a phone. You can get wireless high speed internet from the house as well.
We hope that you will come and stay and enjoy yourselves. The house is located close to the heart of Cathedral City and in the "Cove," out of the wind. It is several blocks off Highway 111, which is the main artery connecting all of the Palm Springs area cities. We have operated vacation rental homes for over 15 years and look forward to spoiling you with a comfortable, convenient, and well stocked home away from home!!
As a side note, the Cathedral City Historical Society has chosen this home to be on their 2012 Walking Tour of Historic Homes.

My name is Judy Penny and I worked in Schools for 23 years as a teacher, counselor, vice principal, and principal. I have also been in Real Estate for 16 years. I am married and we have two dogs, 4 children, and 6 grandchildren. I love remodeling and updating homes and have done about 18 living spaces, most while living in them. I really enjoy the vintage homes of which this one is very unique. I hope you enjoy the warmth of the home and peaceful quality of this yard.
Why the Owner Chose Cathedral City
We love the area and it is wonderful to be here in the winter. There is lots to do and see, plus we have made many friends here. There are movie stars who come to this area to perform at the McCallum Theatre and at the casinos. In addition, they come for the Film Festival in January. We have two great Street Fairs, one in Palm Springs, and one at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert. We have lots of arts and crafts fairs,golf and tennis. We love the palm trees and the many birds who sing to us all day.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home here is very comfortable, with a large yard, hot tub, BBQ, and tables outside on a covered patio. What a treat it is to eat most meals outside!! We have dogs and they are completely safe here, as our property is walled and gated to protect them. They love to play in the yard, plus we can play croquet and Bocci Ball as well. There are lemon, grapefruit, tangelo, and lime trees to enjoy all winter long. Inside, we love the fireplace, dish TV, and to use the internet. The house is large enough for overnight guests, plus we have given many dinner parties here. We love to cook and we have a wonderful kitchen for that. The beds are comfortable and we have great showers and a tub and hot tub. Also, there are lots of flowers here, from roses, to bougainvillea, to oleander, to hibiscus, to vines, flowering trees, and much more. The weather is marvelous!!
