Sunset Bungalow is on the water and across from Jumbile Bay with a nice view of the wetlands from either deck. The beach is 3 1/2 minute drive. City Park has been updated and is an entertaining walk for you and your children.

Six friends stayed at the Sunset Bungalow for Thanksgiving week. It was wonderful in every way. The house was perfect--lots of room, great kitchen, fantastic deck overlooking the canal and the wetlands. A paradise for birders. The owner did everything to make our stay perfect and even took us on a wonderful sunset boat ride. Easy access to Galveston, without the traffic and congestion. Great restaurant, grocery store and liquor store just a few minutes drive away. Also close by is Galveston Island State Park with beach, wetlands and many walking and kayak trails. We would love to go back to Sunset Bungalow one day!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

On our trip to the rally we rented the Sunset Bungalow vacation home and it was great! Photo's do not do justice to this property it is very clean and beautiful. The renter helped me with records and directions and complete instructions on check in and check out procedures. It is not far from downtown and the Seawall drive. I would rent this property again and tell all of my friends if they go to Galveston for an extended period to rent this home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family stayed for a week vacation and loved the house. We had a great time sitting out on the decks fishing and enjoying the fireworks. The house was one of the best in the area - the space was wide open and the views were amazing. We could sit on the deck and watch part of our group fishing in the wetlands and playing with the dogs. What better way to top off the day but with a sunset cruise w/Terry and Jeanne, it was fun even if there wasn't a sunset. We'd love to visit again or better than that - buy the house! It was perfect and you were the best host ever! My family stayed at Sunset Bungelow for a weeklong reunion. We had a great time sitting out on the decks overlooking the canal, fishing, bbqing, and enjoying the beach life. We recommend this as a great place to come, relax and enjoy Galveston Island and Jamaica Beach. Fun was had by all - including our two dogs - Abby & Wolfie. We loved our sunset cruise w/Terry and Jeanne, it was a great experience...many thanks for sharing Sunset with us! This was truly an amazing vacation! My children fished every night right off our own deck! We swam in the Gulf Coast, went to Schlitterbahn waterpark, enjoyed the wonderful restaurants with the view of the ocean and relaxed! All this with every comfort from home! My only complaint was our trip was not long enough! We came down to Galveston for a family wedding and "mini" family vacation with the three kids and my mother-in-law. The home was neat, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and the bay is beautiful during sunrise and sunset. We loved the upper deck area and our middle son spent most of his free time in the hammock. Had never stayed in a "canal" home before, but now we are hooked! Sunset Bungalow is immaculately maintained. Perfect family outing, has everything you need. Owners very friendly and helpful. Took their suggestion and rented a paddle boat....best thing we could have done for the kids and the adult kids enjoyed it as well.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed a glorious week where the weather was around 75 degrees and partly cloudy so we didn't get too hot or sunburned.We ate some great seafood and just when we needed a break from seafood Terry replaced the grill and we had porkchops to everybody's delight. The house is real cute and cozy and we even caught a crab and a huge flounder! We really enjoyed riding the cruiser bikes through the nice neighborhood homes and to the beach. Like I said in the comment book Terry;you and Galveston R-O-C-K and I told my Dad thanks for starting this new family tradition!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

The property is large and well-stocked and extremely clean (especially for a pet-friendly home). The house has everything you would need to accomodate up to 10 guests comfortably. The owners are fabulous and very easy to work with. The location is wonderful and the neighborhood is safe and very quiet. The neighborhood even has a great park for children to play just down the street. My family had a fantastic time this past weekend and we will definately book this place again in the future!!!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time. The location was awesome and the sunsets can’t even be explained. The turkey was delicious and the memories are beyond words. Seven Sea's grocery store is just a few miles and has everything you can imagine and very good quality. You are close enough to enjoy the sites but far enough to feel like you are in paradise! The house was very clean, and the photos just don’t show how cute it really is. The deck was a great extra place to hang out and watch all of the birds fly to and from the sanctuary. The fishing lights were also a great added feature as the fun didn’t have to stop because the sun went down. How awesome to have been able to include our dogs with in our plans as they are a huge part of our family as well. What fun we had and can’t wait to go back again!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Having both grown up on the Gulf Coast, we have always loved Galveston. As children, teens and adults with children of our own; we would each take every opportunity to make trips to the beach or The Strand, or to eat dinner at Gaidos. When we finally decided to get married; Galveston seemed the perfect location. The place we picked was the Hotel Galvez. It held so many special memories of family trips to Galveston and wonderful Sunday brunches! We had always talked about owning a house on the water someday, but never expected it to happen so soon! So... that brings us to the present, an amazing little house in the perfect location!
Why the Owner Chose Jamaica Beach:
After an all-girls weekend in Jamaica Beach, I fell in love with the sleepy little village and would not take no for an answer on owning a house there! Our local Realtor friend showed us a home there and we fell in love with it. Unable to make the purchase due to some now 'lucky' circumstances, reluctantly we let it go. Then along came what we've now named 'Sunset Bungalow.' The moment we saw it we fell in love with it and had to have it. A dream come true. A unique home to share with guests and family
