The house is situated just 25 feet from the lake and looks at one of the widest, open areas of the lake (not into other homes). There are cypress trees and a few citrus trees. Nicely landscaped with a grassed yard. We purchased the home in July and furnished it completely with comfortable, high-quality designer furnishings. The kitchen is completely stocked with all pots, pans, dishware and appliances. This is our second home that gets little use. It is available over the winter and early spring.
Lake Keystone is a 411 acre spring-fed lake, second largest in Hillsborough County, and widely considered to be the most desirable lake to live on in the Tampa area. It is a 15 minute drive north of Tampa International Airport off the Veteran’s Expressway, yet is surrounded by horse farms and orange groves. Within a 5 minute drive of the house, you will find a large Sweetbay Supermarket, several restaurants (many more 10 minutes away), a public recreational area with tennis courts, ball fields, and hiking trails, and a public library. The Citrus Park Mall is less than 15 minutes away.

Perfect home away from home.
Perfect home away from home.
This home provided my family with luxurious living with the laid-back comfort of home. My husband and I, along with my 10-year-old stepdaughter, had the pleasure of living in this beautiful home for six weeks, while our new home construction was completed here in Tampa Bay. We got to know this home quite well, and felt as if we were on vacation every single day! The unobstructed lakefront view is absolutely stunning, whether at dawn, noon or sunset, and the water is visible from nearly every room in the home. The extended back lanai provides an amazing space for outdoor living and dining. We very much enjoyed eating dinner together as a family while overlooking the lake, and I loved taking my glass of wine to the end of the dock to enjoy the sunsets! We appreciated the thoughtfully stocked kitchen - from measuring cups to wine glasses, this home had everything we could possibly need. The same is true about the living spaces in the home; there were plenty of bed linens, cleaning items and fresh towels. (I liked the towels so much, I went out and bought a bunch for our new home!) The laundry room is outfitted with a great washer & dryer - perfect for all of those towels. The bedrooms are nice and roomy. My stepdaughter loved what she called "the camp room," which is the bedroom outfitted with bunk beds and a set of twin-sized beds, and enjoyed having her friends over one weekend for a sleepover. The separate master bedroom suite, on the other side of the home, was handy for that too - noise reduction! The master bedroom suite is quite comfortable and has that amazing lakefront view. The walk-in closet in the master bedroom is to die for! My husband utilized the home office space daily. We supplied our own desktop computer, and appreciated having high-speed internet access. Owners Steve and Cathy were kind enough to accommodate our family pets, which we are so grateful for. Our dog and cats are pretty laid back, and behaved themselves with the furniture. The light-colored carpet should be taken into consideration for renters with rambunctious pets or family members! This home is in a great location, with quick access (less than five minutes) to the Veterans Expressway, a direct route to Tampa or across the bridges to Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Grocery stores, gas stations and malls are only minutes away. My family will never forget our "summer at the lake." THANK YOU Cat & Steve for being gracious hosts.

My family and I stayed at Bill's home for 6 days. Although the weather wasn't very pleasant towards the end of our visit, the home made it very worthwhile. We actually lost power one night during a storm and we took this opprotunity to further bond as a family. The rooms, kitchen, baths had every aminity of our personal home. We grilled steaks on the grill one evening and spent alot of time sitiing on the patio overlooking Gods wonderful majestic creations. It was most tranquil. Bill was there for us at the drop of a het. We even had the opprotunity to meet him in person. I must say, Bill was one of the nicest, friendliest man you would want to meet. He made sure that we were well taken care of. I would encourage anyone to stay at Bills home. It's a relaxing, spirt building and family atmosphere. Thank you so very much Bill for your generous hospitality. I welcome the opprotunity to stay at your home again one day. With kindest regards, Jack and Wendy Harvill Louisiana natives

One of our most relaxing vacations ever was spent at this beautiful "Shangri-la" in Florida. The home is well equiped with everything you need and comfortable furnishings. We spent our mornings on a walk, bike riding or in a canoe around the lakes. Great location for day trips to the beach. We found some of our special outings have been delayed due to us just relaxing in the screened porch area having coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at dusk facing the lake. We hope to spend more than a week here again next year.

Owner response: How nice to hear such appreciation and enjoyment. We feel the same as this is a second home that we enjoy half the year. We can only hope to see the Niblacks again and that all of our visitors are as pleasant and caring for our home.

We just stayed here the first week of July 2011. We had a great time. Being on the lake was beautiful. Loved sitting in the screened porch with our morning coffee, watching the egrets catching their breakfast! It is a very quiet neighborhood and was nice to relax in after days of walking around. This house has virtually everything you need, so you can pack light! Even a grocery store just a few minutes away. We would definitely stay there again if we ever come back to the area.

Beautiful home in a Relaxing atmosphere
Beautiful home in a Relaxing atmosphere
Our family enjoyed our stay. The lake is beautiful and very relaxing. The description and photos were accurate. We would not only recommend this home but will likely come and stay again in the future. There are many conveniently located attractions / activities within a short drive, which was great. The home was quiet yet close to everything. We enjoyed having use of the kayaks during our stay.

Lake Keystone Home
Lake Keystone Home
Our trip to Tampa met our highest expectations. We can just confirm what Charles and Lynda describe about the interior of home. Bill, always helpful and positive, created a good feeling that stayed with us throughout our stay. To enjoy the lake every Morning at breakfast and then end an eventful day with dinner and a glass of wine with the view of the lake when the darkness folds, turns you into a person at ease with yourself. What could be better?

Vacation on Lake Keystone Tampa Florida
Vacation on Lake Keystone Tampa Florida
This vacation home is as described in the VRBO listing and much more. Interior of home is well maintained and quality of furnishings is of higher quality than normally provided in vacation homes. Owner provided listing of places to eat and things to do and was very helpful in answering any other questions we had. Personally we would recommend local attractions such as horse racing at Tampa Bay Downs, Spring training baseball at Tampa, Dunedin and Clearwater, Shopping at Citrus Park Mall, International Mall, Elllenton Outlet Center, Ybor City and Hyde Park Area in Tampa. Plenty of golf courses including Pebble Creek golf course in Tampa. Busch Gardens should also be on your list of places to visit and is only a half hour away. Right outside the door is kayaking or canoeing on Lake Keystone or just enjoy the view of the lake from your own private dock. We would definitely recommend this home to friends, relatives or anyone looking for an enjoyable vacation. Charles and Lynda

About the owner: Cathy and Jim make Tampa their home and have four adult children. Cathy is an occupational therapist and Jim is a law enforcement professional preparing to retire. Cathy spent a great deal of her childhood on Lake Keystone and has continued as an adult sharing time with family and friends at a second home adjacent to this rental property. Cathy and Jim enjoy travel, the lake and spending time with their children and their spouses.
Why the Owner Chose Tampa:
We chose Lake Keystone because it is the best water-ski lake in Tampa with the most upscale, consistently good neighborhoods of all Hillsborough County lake homes. The lake is spring-fed, so the water is clean and clear. Lake Keystone is 411 acres and is the second largest lake in Hillsborough County. Also, it is an easy drive to anywhere in Tampa since it is 5 minutes from the Veteran's Expressway. Tampa Airport is 15-20 minutes. The Citrus Park Mall is only 10-15 minutes away. There are lots of golf courses nearby, too. Pinellas beaches are 20 minutes. Busch Gardens is about 30 minutes. We chose the house because it is a new, Rutenberg (open style) home with high ceilings and has one of the best views on the lake. We liked the screen porch that runs the entire length of the house, the large kitchen, and the feeling that you sit right on the lake. Two bedrooms, the kitchen, eat-in dining room, and living room all have sweeping views of the lake.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
If you are coming to Tampa for a golf holiday, there are multiple opportunities in the area. And, we would be happy to assist with other plans. We love it here, and hope you will too. Some other unique things you will enjoy -- kayaks and bicycles are provided to enjoy the lake and the nearby bike trails. There are also parks nearby with hiking trails. There are lots of horse farms, too, if you enjoy riding or want to take some lessons. The location is also unique in that you have the benefits of Tampa from the Performing Arts Center to the Tampa Bay Bucs, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Rays to the very close by Clearwater and Dunedin beaches. Baseball Spring Training is also a major event for the area with training camps for the Yankees, Phillies and Blue Jays all within 30 minutes. Orlando is also only 90 minutes away with all the theme parks. Busch Gardens is about a 25 minute ride. Historic Tarpon Springs with its sponge docks and great Greek food is only 20 minutes east.
