Our moonlodge studio is an enchanting open concept space with cathedral ceilings. It is warm and cozy filled with recycled materials we found while renovating this 100 year old barn (like an old wooden door for the bathroom.)

My name is Carol Anne Goodman and I am an artist and healer who specializes in painting fairies. I live with my husband Christian Tie Ten Quee and five children on our 200 acre farm which is five minutes North of Wakefield. We love sharing the beauty we are surrounded by with others and enjoy creating special events where people can come and enjoy delicious farm fresh food and live music. 100 Mile Farm is a magical place where we welcome others to come and nourish their spirits with the breath taking views of our gorgeous rolling Gatineau hills.
Why the Owner Chose Wakefield
I would say the property chose me. My husband was three months old when his parents moved into our farm and various siblings have owned it since 1973. I often drove past his family farmhouse and dreamed of one day owning a farm just like it. Imagine my surprise when the man I ended up with also lived in my dream home! It's perfect for raising a large family and is in walking distance to Wakefield. I believe luck and a touch of majic fairy dust enabled us to officially acquire the farm in 2007. We've spent the last several years restoring this heritage site and are now pleased to have the opportunity to share our homestead with others.
The Unique Benefits of this
In 2007 we began reconstructing one of the barns on our property with the original intention being to create an art studio for me to paint in. Over the years we had many requests from family and friends to stay in the space because they needed to get a way from it all. We decided to open the studio up as a vacation rental because we saw there was a true need for people to come to a country setting and rejuvinate their senses. Our farm is perfect for people who love the outdoors, long country walks, mountain biking, cross country and downhill skiing (there are three major ski hills in the area), bungee jumping, golf, swimming and boating are all activities that are easily accessible from our place. The famous Gatineau Park is just minutes away with snowshoeing, ski-doing, dogsledding and many other fun memorable experiences are just waiting to be discovered. We are also a very active creative community filled with artists, writers and muscians who regularly have top knotch shows. The Black Sheep is a popular stop for visitors where world renowned musicians play every weekend. There are many delicious restaurants, cafe's, and Bakeries just waiting to be taste tested too!
