Our family continues to rent this very comfortable home for gatherings in the Woodstock, VT area. Room for everyone, large dining room seats 10+, spacious / gracious old home with modern amens, terrific value. Den and full bath downstairs can convert to additional bedroom (making for a total of six bedrooms) for those who have difficulty with going upstairs. Owner Debbie is always a pleasure to deal with, and the house is well maintained. South Woodstock is lovely, just minutes from 'downtown' Woodstock, and this property is only a very short walk away from a general store / deli and the Kedron Valley Inn.Owner response: Thank you ever so much for your lovely review... I hope you come back and visit us again, it is always a pleasure having you at the house. Please pass on my fondest regards to all the family..Dx

My wife and I have been coming back year after year to our "home away from home". I can't state strongly enough what a relief it is for us to have a place that we know is impeccably maintained, beautifully appointed and fairly priced. We usually share this with one other couple during ski season and there is enough common space for all of us to gather after a long day on the slopes to just relax and unwind. The kitchen is fully stocked and best of all the dining room is spacious enough to allow for a group of 10 or more to gather for the family dinners we so value. Each year, we enter to find a new upgrade or addition that only adds to the value and our overall experience. I am biased growing up in Woodstock, but I can't imagine a more restful and beautiful area to visit. Thank you Deb for sharing your wonderful home with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The "lilac Cottage" was perfect size with 5 Bedrms and lots of living space, including two fireplaces. We were on our annual 34th Girls weekend. The house was very cozy. We did alot of cooking and found everything we needed . We enjoyed the firepit in the back yard, which the owner Debbie supplied the wood. So glad we had 3 bathrms. The area is beautiful with lots of hiking or relaxing. The town of Woodstock is very quaint with lots of little shops. I would definately recommend this property for larger parties. The owner, Debbie, was very accommodating. Thanks fo much for a memorable weekend!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We come up to Woodstock every summer for a horse show and this is the first time we've rented this wonderful home. The house is even more beautiful and spacious than the pictures show. Kitchen is updated and has everything you would need to cook bake and entertain. The owner is very helpful and was available for any questions throughout our stay. I cant say enough good things about the house and grounds, you wont be disappointed and we will definitely be coming back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We just returned from celebrating our daughter's graduation from Dartmouth this weekend and the house was awesome. We all wished we could stay for a long vacation. The house has such charm and is beautifully vintage and modern at the same time. All our guests were comfortable as the house is so spacious. We would love to stay again and hated to leave. Something about the house makes you feel right at home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is a beautiful home! Spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We had a party of 7 adults and the multiple bedrooms and baths were a plus. We never felt crowded, relaxing in the livingroom, enjoying meals around the beautiful kitchen table, or watching TV before going to bed. The kitchen is well stocked, very nice that a grill is on the premises, and the choice of formal diningroom or casual eat in kitchen dining was a plus. The amenities and close proximity to GMHA made this a perfect rental for us! We also had time to enjoy some shopping in Woodstock and nearby towns -- so much to offer. I hope to book this place next year. Thanks, Debbie for sharing your lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I have rented this house for the month of March for two years in a row and will be renting it next year. The house is beautiful, spacious, and rustic yet with state of the art amenities, specifically the kitchen which is modern and in which we could prepare hearty meals after a day of skiing. There is natural light as there are windows everywhere and two gas fireplaces to warm you in cold winter days. The house is family friendly yet romanitc. It is located about 5 minutes away from the town of Woodstock which is historic and a treasure in itself. You can take a stroll around the town and drop in to visit independent bookstores or peek into the windows of vintage and unique clothing stores. My family and I always leave refreshed with good memories behind us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My family loved this place, it is a very roomy house with two gas fireplaces that we used on the cool Vermont mornings. The beautiful wood floors in the place are a little uneven but that just adds to the charm of this gorgeous old house. There were six of us in Woodstock for my son's wedding (just after the local floods in 2011.) The three bathrooms were fantastic with so many people getting ready for the 'big event!' The kitchen and barbeque are well stocked for cooking, and we shopped at Mac's in Woodstock and utilized the local hardware store. There was a better breakfast table than is in the pictures, it had eight chairs around it and was really the only one that we used. Debbie was the perfect host as she was always available but we never did actually see her, and the deposit came back to me in under one week. I've used Homeaway a couple times now and been very pleased with the results. Trust the pictures and cleanliness on this one. Great place to stay for us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.
