If you're looking for sophistication and comfort, beautifully appointed and a location that can't be beat, this is the condo for you. When initially looking for a winter getaway in beautiful San Diego, our primary focus was location. We wanted to be in an area where we could avail ourselves to the convenience of public transportation as well as enjoy the many wonderful restaurants San Diego has to offer. As expected the location of Robert's condo was excellent but we were blown away when we entered the unit. It was absolutely stunning! The open concept living and dining areas are tastefully furnished complimented by some beautiful art work. Natural light provided by a large sliding door opening to a lovely private balcony bathes the living room. With no exception, this was best equipped rental we have EVER occupied! From crock pots to lobster pots, there was nothing Robert hadn't thought of! Dishes, cutlery, pots and pans were plentiful and there was stemware to hold any possible beverage you could imagine. On several occasions I e-mailed Robert with a variety of questions. He always responded promptly with detailed answers and helpful information. Could this little piece of San Diego perfection get any better? Believe it or not, the answer is yes! Gracing the kitchen counter when we entered was a huge "Welcome Basket" filled with all kinds of delectable goodies including an assortment of cookies, crackers and nuts. There was also a lovely keepsake photo album of Balboa Park nestled in the basket waiting to be filled with our memories. Chilling in the refrigerator was a bottle of champagne and two glasses! Regarding practical matters, there is a Ralph's Grocery Store about 3 blocks away (very easy walk). Robert has supplied the unit with cloth grocery bags as well as Ralph's discount card to make shopping even easier. There is also a small gym on site. As mentioned, the condo couldn't be in a better location. Located across from the Convention Center (but with plenty of space in between), there is easy access to the trolley connecting you to pretty much anywhere you'd want to go. Exciting 5th Ave is two streets away... close enough to join in the fun but far enough away that there is no noise impact in the condo. For anyone planning a getaway to San Diego you owe it to yourself to experience the enchantment of Robert's condo. You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed at this condo in May of 2011 and cannot beleive I have not yet written a review. Robert was extremely accomodating from the first correspondence, answering each and every question immediately. The condo is clean, and well appointed, with luxurious lines which cannot be found at most hotels. The setup of the condo was exactly what we needed as my husband and I had one end of the apartment, and my daugher and her boyfriend the other. This worked well as we could head to bed early and they could stay up and watch tv or chat. Upon arrival, we found that Robert had left us a cold bottle of champagne with two glasses in the refridgerator and a large basket of goodies. He also left us his discount card for the supermarket which was close by. I hope to be back again soon as this condo is located in the heart of town with access to everything. The owners were gracious and left no stone unturned.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We just finished a wonderful, restful month in San Diego in Robert's beautiful apartment. We arrived on New Year's Eve to find a huge basket of treats and New Year's touches like hats, horns and sparklers. In additon to a very informative notebook of SD info, we also were given a book from Balboa Park for our memories and pictures, a bottle of champagne cooling in the fridge with two cold glasses and a personal note. One little extra touch was the Ralph's grocery store member's card, so we always got the member price at the store that was only five blocks from the apartment. The apartment has very comfortable beds and luxurious llinens and glassware. We are traveling for two years and are staying in apartments such as this one, but this apartment had the best amenities. Often owners don't even leave cleaning suppies but expect the apartment to be kept clean. Not so at this one which came very well-equipped. Our favorite places to eat are C-Level on Harbor Island, the Marine Room in La Jolla, and Bertrand Mr. A's on Banker's Hill. We also recommend Candela's just down the block from the apartment and Celadon, a lovely upscale Thai restaurant Uptown. The Crab Hut on Broadway is also excellent for Cajun cooking. Robert was very accommodating. Every time we had a question, we received an immediate response. We will be back in SD in October and will definitely be back in this apartment. With such a great unit and wonderful service, there is no need to look elsewhere.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This is an outstanding place to stay! The unit is very clean and very well appointed, the location was perfect, easy to find. It is in the center of all the action of downtown San Diego (Gaslamp District). However, it is nice and quiet. The owners are outstanding, making sure we had everything we needed before our arrival and contacted us before we left. They even had cold champagne in the refrigerator for us on our arrival...and a goody basket on the kitchen countertop. We felt very welcomed. Shopping, entertainment and services are at your doorstep. There is a Ralph's with in walking distance and a World Market right around the corner. Also, within walking distance is Horton's Plaza and Petco Ball Park. If you fly to San Diego, the airport is very close. It is amazing how convenient everything is to this condo. Just across the street is the trolley stop. You can take it all over San Diego and also to the main train station where you can get trains to anywhere you want to go. Seaport Village and the Convention center are just across the street. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. You could not ask for more! We loved our stay and hope to do it again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This is a wonderful condo in a really nice complex right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, yet on MLK Promenade Park, which is perfect for an evening stroll or run. The condo is spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need during a stay in this beautiful City. It has a very open feeling. The balcony is nice for a glass of wine at the end of the day ;-) The owner is wonderful and extremely helpful. He'll make you feel welcome in his beautiful place ! We're locals and rented the place for a month during a remodel of our house and the kids still talk about our time there ;-)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I was very impressed with everything about this condo - especially the location, amenities, and owner. It is about one block away from the convention center which I thought was really great as I was here for a conference. And a trolley station is even closer and offered connections to everywhere my wife wanted to see: Sea World, Pacific Beach, Balboa Park, the zoo, and more. A fun and inexpensive eatery called Funky Garcia is close by as well offering delicious Mexican food. Very easy to get by without a car, even though the condo includes a space in a secured garage. Cab fare from the airport was about $14. It's about a ten minute walk to the nearest grocery store, and the owner was thoughtful enough to provide cloth grocery bags and a Ralph's card for our use. Next to Ralph's is a great shopping center/mall that was lots of fun to browse. Be sure to stop by the used book store in there if you need something to read on the flight home. If there's one thing wrong with the condo, it's that it's tempting to stay inside rather than get out and do all the touristy things we had planned. Clean and quiet, with broadband wifi, big screen TV, king size bed, heating and a/c, rooftop dining, and comfy furniture. Plus, when we first arrived, there was a basket full of goodies waiting to greet us. This is one of the few places I looked at which included a washer and dryer in the unit, and they were very convenient to have. Communicating with the property owner was no trouble at all, and he was very obliging. Late checkout was no problem, and he was nice enough to provide me with a second receipt that covered just the days of my conference to make it easier for me to submit receipts for travel reimbursement. And when I lost that receipt, he was kind enough to email me another copy! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Gaslamp area of San Diego.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My parents and grand-ma visited me from France for 2 weeks in April and living in Gaslamp, close to my place downtown, was a great experience! Very convenient, clean and calm place to live. When I visited this apartment to make sure it was a perfect place for my parents, I was really amazed. It was much better in reality than on the listing pictures! Lot of space and storage! If you are 3-4 people to live there, every one can get his own privacy with the 2 bedrooms which is really nice. The dinner table really allowed us to have dinner all together ( 5 people). Rob even offered the parking spot if my parents wanted to rent a car. Rob was really helpful answering all my questions. We also planned on going to Palm Springs and he gave us a lot of good recommendations about hotels, attractions... My parents really appreciated the box of snaks and card that welcomed them. He also put a big book with all the activities, maps and attractions in San Diego. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially to international people! Rob, thanks a lot again. We all had a great time and nothing else to recommend about this place because it is just perfect!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
