If you want to return from your vacation completely relaxed and de-stressed, head for unit #3 at Sea Shells of Sanibel! We are a 5-minute walk from the beach, with a dedicated access path. Our 1350 square ft. main floor condominium is located in the building closest to the beach, yet it's far enough back from the road for complete quiet and privacy. Decor is bright and cheerful, in Sanibel Island style. Floors in most of the apartment are tiled, with carpet in the two bedrooms. With three doors opening onto screened lanais, and ceiling fans in each room, you have the choice of opening up the apartment to Sanibel's fresh sea breezes. Or, if you prefer, close the windows and crank up the central air conditioning!
We keep beach chairs, a beach umbrella, swim toys and plenty of beach towels for your use on the beach or in our heated pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances, so if you don't want to eat out all the time you can cook whenever you wish.
There is plenty of room in the fridge, so stock up if you like! Our dining room looks out on lush vegetation and opens onto a screened private lanai. Have your morning coffee out there in your PJs, because the master bedroom also opens onto the lanai! For travelers with small children, a folding crib and high chair are available in the unit at no extra charge.
For those days when you don't want to leave the apartment, we have cable TV and DVD players in both bedrooms and the living room. TV's in the living room and master bedroom are high-definition. If you want to go out without missing your favorite show, there are VCRs in the living room and master bedroom. We also keep a collection of movies, books, puzzles and games. If you want to surf the internet, bring your laptop, because the wireless internet is fast and free! If you prefer to use an ethernet connection, we have that as well.
We are only minutes away from the Island Cinemas, Bailey's General Store, loads of unique shops and restaurants, and the famous Ding Darling wildlife refuge. Don't miss Ding Darling while you're here. You can ride your bikes or drive through this wonderful bird sanctuary. It hosts pelicans, ospreys, roseated spoonbills, egrets, cranes, raccoons, and the occasional gator! Guided tours are also available. Several companies on the island offer boat cruises for fishing, dolphin watching, shelling, and eco tours.

My group of six had a hassle free vacation, there were no faults at all, Plenty of towels and room to move, The pool was clean to a high standerd and very peaceful. Price for the week was also excellent for the high quality in this condo and the people who run the sea shells condo's. With thanks for a great holiday and would not hesitate to stay there again. Thankyou sea shells.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.

When I read about Seashells of Sanibel Condo #3 on a cold winter day last December, I knew it was exactly what I needed; a quiet place to get some writing done, walk on the beach and explore the island. It was easy to talk a fellow writer into joining me after I was fortunate enough to find a few days in January that were still available. Condo #3 was exactly as described on the web site, recently updated in fresh island décor with an emphasis on comfort, and so spacious we felt a little guilty that we hadn’t brought our families. The kitchen is modern with new appliances and enough dishes and pots and pans for the most industrious cook, if that’s your thing. My friend and I were mostly interested in brewing tea, and maybe a pot to boil some pasta for a quick salad made from ingredients purchased at Bailey’s General Store a few blocks away. We also found a great deli and bakery section at Bailey’s where we purchased items for picnic lunches on one of the condo’s screened-in lanais, surrounded by enough lush tropical trees and plants to make us feel we were on our own private island. Dinners were special events as we checked out the local restaurants where we found menus to suit even the most discriminating palates. The Island Cow was a fun place with atmosphere and good food. We enjoyed our early morning jaunts to the private beach, just five minutes away, as we tried to beat other early birds to the most beautiful shells left by the morning tide. And speaking of early birds, a tour of the Ding Darling Bird Sanctuary on the island was the perfect place to take our cameras and capture some exotic shots of the colorful inhabitants. I’ll tell you about the Gators next time. Louise and I plan to go back this coming winter, but we will be generous and take separate vacations this time so we can take our families. By the way, we didn’t get a great deal of writing done, but we came home refreshed and with lots of new material to write about.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

During a recent October, during fall break we had the opportunity to spend a week on Sanibel Island at the Sea Shells of Sanibel Condo #3. It was one of the the most relaxing and pleasant stays we've experienced. The amenitites of the condo were perfect for a week long stay and the beach was remarkable. The sand was beautiful white and scattered with shells. At night there are no lights permitted along the beach which allows the sea turtles to find their way ahore to lay their eggs without being disoriented by artificial light. I've never seen so many stars in my life as when we took a walk one night along the edge of the ocean. We always enjoyed returning to the condo after a day of adventure on the island. Whether bike riding to the old lighthouse, shopping at the quaint nearby stores, or eating at one of the tasty island restauants, coming back for the evening was like coming home. The rooms were open, inviting, pleasant, and clean...just a place where you wanted to spend time to relax. The kitchen was wonderful, which allowed us to prepare meals for the times we didn't want to go out. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the baths refreshing, Unless you saw people around the complex you would think you were the only ones there...it was so quiet! Will we go back? Absolutely! In fact we are planning another trip there this October.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Our recent stay was fabulous. The condo was spotless. It is just like home and is painted with beautiful beach colors (coral, blue and green). The bathrooms are just the right size and there was a laundry room that was very useful, especially since we had 3 boys with us (if you know what I mean). The kitchen is well equiped and has new cabinets, appliances, countertop. We cooked breakfast and several evening meals. Our grandsons never lacked for anything to do. They took their bikes and the condo also has 2 bikes. The neighbors even saw dolphins and manoutees early in the morning. You can walk to the beach and gather seashells or just walk 2 minutes to the pool. The local grocery is Bailey's, which has organic foods. There are many restaurants and unique shops. The beach is amazing--white sand, thousands of seashells and azure water. When you look out on the horizon, you see an aquamarine blue hue--great for photos! The temperature was 94-95 each day and there is always a cooling breeze. If you are planning a family vacation, we would recommend this condo A++. You will have a wonderful time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
