A group of us stayed at the lake house in the middle of September 2011. The water was still warm enough to play in and the lake was beautiful. The cabin was exactly as it seems in the pictures, increadible. Everything was clean and ready for guests. We all had enough towels, sheets, paper towels, even coffee mugs. Out of the 7 of us staying there, no one needed anything that the house did not supply. With the fast WIFI, and big screen down stairs, pool table at the ready, we were well occupied when the rain hit for a day. I have rented numerous vacation properties, and I have to say, this was the cleanest and best put together place I have ever stayed. I would recomend it to anyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

A few months back, several of my closest friends and I rented this cabin for a "girls weekend," and made memories that will last a lifetime. From the moment that we drove up the drive in awe of the awesome logs on this cabin, we were "blown away" with its beauty. We loved the outdoor fireplace, the gorgeous furnishings, the remote location, the views from all rooms. Truly, the owners left nothing undone with this remarkable place! We are looking forward to another girls weekend away soon and wouldn't consider a different location. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This cabin was unbelievable- when we first got there- we all had our cameras out taking pictures inside of the cabin (room to room ) and of the views from the deck and dock! The kitchen was top notch, the family and living areas were perfect for relaxing as well as hosting the "girls" for our night of friendship and fellowship! We had such a fantastic visit! We went hiking and we were even able to enjoy some time in the sun! The grocery store was close so we could run over quickly for a few items we forgot. The beds were extremely comfortable and we felt like we were in a model home! My only complaint is that our schedules did not permit us to stay for the month! The place was clean and had everything we needed for our adventure. We will DEFINITELY be back and hope to see the deer and beautiful sunsets we got to enjoy on our first visit!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our group had a fabulous time at this beautiful spot. The house is wonderful and has everything you need! Had all the little things like soap, dishwashing detergent, first aid, salt and pepper, coffee filters,,,all those little things you need provided for you! Had all the appliances expected plus waffle maker and blender. We needed nothing but our food and clothes. We cooked every meal in the well equipped kitchen and grilled on the beautiful bbq grill there. We hiked nearby trails thanks to the reference books art the house. We fished, white water rafted on the Oceoo River and spent one day on a rented pontoon boat. Played on the two rafts they have. Everything was great- could not have been any better!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family just had a terrific time here! The house was WONDERFUL- fully equipped with all you need! We hiked, white water rafted and rented a boat to spend the lake. Very convienent location. The cabin had all the little things you need and all appliances. They thought of everything. Note: the water is across the road from the house and the view is slightly blocked by trees from the porch. But it is a short walk, and the view of the mountains is still great so we would definitely recommend this place to our friends. There was even two rafts we could play on included with the cabin. Thanks!!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Fall Branch Falls
"One of our favorite hikes - Half a mile, moderate hike to a waterfall. Bring your camera!! From downtown: Take old Hwy 76 thru Blue Ridge. Turn rt on Aska Rd, the first road after the three-way stop sign. Go 8 miles and turn right on Stanley Creek Road. Go 3.1 miles to the "parking lot" on the right just past the bridge over Falls Branch, just past the game warden's house (marked). Our suggestion is to turn your car around before you park here; parking is frequently a problem."

"This loop trail follows the shoreline of Lake Blue Ridge and offers a beautiful view of the lake. It is flat and a good trail for families with young children. Directions: From Blue Ridge, take Old U.S. 76 east for 1.5 miles to Dry Branch Road. Turn right and go 3 miles to the entrance of the Blue Ridge Recreation Area. The trail begins and ends in the picnic area. "
