Owner response: From April till November, we usually walk down to the lodge from the Winter Sonata. It's only about a 20 minute walk down the Village Trail from the back deck to the lodge. While we could also walk back, we usually use the complimentary shuttle. It's a great option. Also thanks for taking the time to submit a review we appreciate each one. While some properties have over 70% of their reviews from a guest book or have multiple individuals submit multiple reviews for a same stay to get their review count up, over 80% of our reviews are submitted through VRBO by the people who stay there with only one review entered per stay.
The pictures accurately depicted the condo. Six of us were able to stay comfortably in this place. The condo was neat and ready for us upon our arrival. Rich was very easy to deal with and answered my emails and texts promptly, We were booking last minute and he was easy to reach and very accommodating to our needs. This rental is easily accessible to the pool and hot tub, as well as the basketball and tennis courts and playground. While staying here, we drove down to the activity center for paintball and ziplining; however we could have just as easily used the complimentary shuttle. I would definitely recommend staying here and would book again with Rich and Delonia myself. Also, the seafood buffet was great at the Slopeside....

Owner response: Thank you for the kind words. You are a great example of using the "book it now" option on VRBO. It permits checking availability, seeing the rental agreement along with the total charges, then, if you choose, immediately book your stay using a credit card. It is that easy and quick.
The condo was great. VERY close to Seven Springs. Visited Flight 93 memorial and Falling Waters. Great parks and hiking. Had all the necessities and more. We had a great time and recommend this condo to anyone considering it. Although we were there in the summer, it is ski in and ski out for the winter visitors. Met friends from Philly and it was a great central location. Thanks to Rich and Delonia

Owner response: The Winter Sonata's close proximity to the resort as well as other area landmarks is another big plus of the property. This summer, we took the less than 60 minute drive to the Flight 911 memorial. It was very moving experience and over 400,000 people visited in 2012.
Fantastic weekend getaway
Fantastic weekend getaway
My girlfriends and I try to get together once a year for a "girls weekend," and this is the second time we have chosen to stay at this condo at Seven Springs Resort. Even though we stayed in March (the first time) and in June (the second time), there is an abundance of activities at Seven Springs during the spring/summer months as well. The location of this condo is fantastic, as the shuttle stop is literally right outside of the door (just next to the driveway). This shuttle is extremely easy to use and will take you wherever you want to go throughout the resort completely free of charge. In addition, the condo is in a very quiet and backs to the slopes, which in the summer you can also walk down to get to the resort as well. During our stay at Seven Springs, we did a Spa Day at the Trillium Spa (fantastic), dinner at Helen's (where we saw Coach Tomlin dining as well), and several activities including horseback riding, the alpine slide and a Segway tour. They are adding new activities every year, which makes it a great vacation spot year round. The condo itself is meticulous and has all of the necessities for a great trip. The full functioning kitchen along with bowls/pots/pans/plates and basic kitchen utensils allowed us to make breakfasts and lunches for ourselves everyday. Even on the days it rained, we were able to watch movies on the DVD player and play games at the large dining room table. We have had a great experience coming to Seven Springs and will not stay at another condo. We hope to return many more times in the future. We highly recommend it without reservation - it's the best!

Owner response: We have had many a “girls weekend" at the Winter Sonata and along with the clean comfortable condominium, there are so many activities to enjoy even in the Spring and Summer. Another plus is having the trail directly behind the condominium. From the large living room window you can look out over the trails and the Laurel Highlands. It is beautiful! The Winter Sonata is truly a special place at a great resort with so many many things to do. We hope to see you again.
The condo was exactly as it is described. It has all of the basic necessities and was very clean. The weather was a bit cold but we really enjoyed our stay in spite of this. I did miss having a fireplace during the rainy cold evenings. The pool and hot tub were a short walk away. We participated in the canopy zip line which I would highly recommend. We have been zip lining about a dozen times all over the world and this was one of the best we have done. We are thinking about coming back in the winter for some skiing fun.

Owner response: Our goal is to meet every guest’s expectations for the property and we believe the photographs and descriptions provide an accurate picture of the condominium. If potential guests read the reviews, they will find some that even say that the pictures do not do justice to the property. There are also many great things at the resort. The zip line was added about two years ago and it’s great to hear it is one of the best you experienced. We hope to have you back to do some skiing.

Owner response: We keep the condominium stocked with those little things like hand soap, paper towels, garbage bags, laundry detergent, and paper napkins. In addition to the traditional major appliances , we also have a hand mixer, coffee maker, toaster, plenty of pots & pans and necessary utensils.
We found the property to be very clean, nicely furnished, and as described in the listing. It was the perfect place for a skiing family with children...loved the ski in ski out! Owners were very responsive and helpful! Would definitely recommend!

Owner response: The cleaning crew does a great job on the condominium. When you also factor in that most guests are very easy on the property, the cleaning crew can take the time to makes sure even the little things are cleaned too. In addition to the sheets being cleaned after each stay, often so are the blankets. This is an additional service that we provide for our guests.
Pride of Ownership
Pride of Ownership
The Winter Sonata is a very actively managed condominium. We received 3" of snow Wed. night and by 9:30 the following morning the front walks were cleared and the rear deck had been shoveled. The owners were very attentive to our needs and I could tell this was much more than just an investment property for them. I don't blame them, this would be my pride and joy as well. This was my first time to Seven Springs and I didn't encounter any other places with the amenities or the conveniences of the Winter Sonata. It was also a great value. The mid-week multiple night discount was more reasonable than the local hotel for two couples. Can't wait to return next year.

Owner response: The shoveling of the back deck is one of the extras we offer. The Winter Sonata is so much more than just a place to sleep and the midweek rates for three or more nights is a great value. We look forward to your return and we'll leave the back deck shoveled for you.

About the owner: We love the Laurel Highlands any time of the year. When looking to recharge, this is our get away. We waited for a property of this quality to become available for three years. During those years we looked at over 25 two bedroom condominiums that were for sale. This condominium impressed us the most. The floor plan with the living room, dining room, kitchen, baths and bedrooms all on the same floor is what we wanted and the location on the Village Trail ski slope was perfect. This is a true ski-in ski-out condominium and a great place to spend time with our friends and family.
Why the Owner Chose Seven Springs:
Seven Springs is a well known and top rated all seasonal resort. There are so many activities to enjoy no matter the season and the night time entertainment is great. In the Mid Atlantic Region, this resort received a #1 rating. It is also in close proximity to the world renown Fallingwater home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as well as the Flight 93 National Memorial and the Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail in Rockwood, PA that is part of the 335 mile hiking-biking trail connecting Pittsburgh,PA to Washington, D.C.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The private front entrance of the condominium is just a short 2 minute walk to the recreational center with a pool, hot tub, tennis courts, basketball courts, and children's playground. Just off the rear wooden deck we often make the 15 minute hike through the open wooded area to the Seven Springs Resort complex. We especially like the hike in the fall when the leaves in the Laurel Mountains change color. It is truly awesome.
