Our first time in Taos couldn't have been better. And the reason was this wonderful home in Taos Canyon. We could hike for miles right out the front door. We saw wildlife every day. When it was chilly, we could build a fire in the woodstove. When it was sunny, the solar design took care of everything. If you're looking for a place far away from the crowds to get close to nature and find your happy place, this is the one!

Our stay at the guest house was marvelous. The house is charming, well appointed, and very comfortable. The rates are very reasonable, and when combined with the convenient location and welcoming hosts it makes for an excellent get away. I highly recommend it!

As advertised, this is an enchanting place to stay. It's quiet, serene, spacious and clean. We loved the wildlife -- hummingbirds galore. It's easy to get into Taos and enjoy the many galleries, restaurants and great fishing, but we were happy not to be staying downtown. We cannot wait to go back.

We loved the house. The wall of windows that looked out onto the forest was breathtaking as you walked in the door. Then we spent some more time checking out all the hidden nooks in the house. The bedrooms were cave-like designed and a fun place to sleep. The balcony of hummingbirds was beautiful! Could have sat there for hours. The hike trail from the back of the house was so beautiful, and after the initial climb, not a hard hike. It's far enough from town to feel secluded and serene, but close enough to be able to drive in and get something. We didn't get to take advantage of the campfire in the backyard, but hope to next year. The home had everything needed. Garrett was very sweet and welcoming when he came up to say hi on one of the nights. He showed us how to light the oven. Best place ever!

What a cozy cabin! It is nestled at the edge of the Carson National Forest with a hiking trail starting at the front door leading right into the forest. Yet it was only 15 minutes away from downtown with its galleries, shopping, and restaurants. The cabin was very well appointed, with all of the comforts of home--comfy beds with warm covers, washer & dryer and a great stove, just to name a few. Also, we were supplied with all the wood needed to take the chill out of the evening and morning air. But my favorite part were the hummingbirds. Four full feeders kept the little birds buzzing around from sun up to sun down. What a treat! I recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away but doesn't want to completely rough it.

What a memorable week for our family! Each day we settled more and more into the ambience and mystique of this special place. The "Taos House" as our girls put it helped us recharge and reacquaint ourselves with what relaxing is all about. From lazy walks to early morning bird watching, it was an experience we will all remember. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Owner response: Thanks for the awesome comments! It was great to meet you guys and hope to see you all again in the not-so-distant future! Hope all goes smoothly with the new baby! Best regards, Garrett, Annie & Ava

This place is magical. There are birds that eat out of your hand. There is a 20 foot wall of glass. In the morning, the glass is frosted with ice and a faint snowfall that frames a postcard view of ponderosas and mountains. If you stay here, you will want to live here.

This place is incredible! It is so unique and unlike any other mountain "cabin" we've ever been to. The birds that eat right out of your hand are so much fun. And the trails right outside the door were so much fun to explore. I can't wait to go back in the summertime and check out all of the wildflowers! Thanks so much to the owners-they were amazing hosts!!!

We absolutely loved staying in The Cave! The house is quaint, cozy and very clean with a stunning view from every window. The house backs up to National Forest, so it's like camping, but with all the amenities. You truly feel closer to nature when you stay there. And the location is great - very private, but just minutes away from town. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go!

Hey Annie & Garrett, it's Frankie junior from Germany, David ;-). How are you?Thank you so much for staying in your awesome cabin. David

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property for a few days. Our first impression of this house was wow! It was very spacious but cozy with the most incredible veiws ever. The cave was also a menagerie of artifacts that was in itself like taking a trip to a museum. I would reccomend this enchanting home to anyone who wants to get away, relax with all the ammenities of home. Ray and Teri

You will never sleep as well anywhere else. The bedroom "caves" are cozy and comfortable...and with the surrounding woods and beautifully clear star filled sky at night, we woke with the sun - well rested and ready to tackle our daily adventure. The Nat'l Forest is overwhelming with lots of opportunities for hiking and/or just relaxing. With downtown Taos only minutes away, we also found there was a great balance to go to town and socialize if we wanted to. Yet, somehow, whenever we came back to "the ship", our troubles seemed to melt away. There is a lot of love in this home...thank you for letting us be part of it!!!

My husband and I took our three daughters to Taos NM for vacation. Not knowing what our accomadations would be, we were floored when we entered this enchanted cottage nestled in the beautiful woods of Taos. Not only were the owners gracious, they have impecable taste, the decor was not only breath taking but unbelievably comfortable, the pictures simply don't do it justice. Our daughters are usually very picky about where to stay on vacation, they didn't want to leave, and have been begging us to to go back next summer. If you are looking for a place that has breath taking surroundings, unbelievable accomodations, and is still close to town restaurants ect., this is your place. But beware, you'll find yourself wanting to extend your stay! Highly recommeded!

What a find! If natural beauty, quiet and privacy are important to you, this is the spot to go! I have been visiting Taos since childhood, have tried many accommodations over the years, but nothing can top this combination of truly getting AWAY from it all yet being close to town, feeling immersed in nature (think deep forest, meadows and stream) in a super cool abode that the kids absolutely love as much as the adults! Coming back from a forest hike or a day of immersion in Taos history, art and culture and building a warm crackling fire were the perfect antidote to living in our fast paced lives. Here we let everything fade into the background and just enjoyed each other's company. The owner's amazing hospitality and knowledge of the area added a new dimension to our visits. This unique spot is at the top of our Taos favorites list. This is truly one of a kind!
