Recommended. Awesome Location.

We highly recommend this apartment. Our family of 5, including three sons ages 20, 18, and 16 spent 5 nights here and found it to be perfect. The location is ideal for those willing/able to walk to virtually all of Rome's sights. We utilized the owner's airport pick-up service (well worth 95 euros), which was waiting for us upon our arrival at the airport. Nicola was waiting for us when we arrived at the apartment and was very helpful in getting us settled. The apartment was immaculate, and all ammenities were in perfect working order (including the wi-fi). The terrace is a wonderful place to start the day with breakfast bought at the daily open-air market at Campo De Fiori just one block away. It is also a great place to have a glass of wine at the end of a long day before heading out to dinner at one of the hundreds of restaurants in the area. Our grown boys had no problem with the lofted bedroom. During our 5 days in Rome we walked to every sight (granted, our pedometer showed that we walked 8 miles/day), but the apartment is 2 blocks from a major public transportation hub which allows you to take the bus to anywhere you need to go. It is in a great neighborhood that affords a taste of the Roman lifestyle. Restaurants abound. As noted in other reviews, there is some street noise at night, but it is not unbearable and we embraced it as being a part of a vibrant city. We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend it very highly.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and is located on a charming cul-de-sac in a wonderful neighborhood. We were met at the apartment by Nicola who is very gracious and getting settled was easy and informal. So much better (and less expensive) than staying in a hotel.

8 days at Librari

Guest: Joe (Helena, Montana • USA)
Date of Stay: 04/27/11 Review Submitted: 07/09/11

5 of us stayed at the Librari flat for 8 days at the beginning of May. The only criticism is that the bathroom in the loft was not functioning until our final day. The apartment was delightful - privacy in the 3 bedrooms, and a great common space with comfortable seating. Nicola was so very helpful - a wonderful manager. We'd definitely rent Librari again for a Roman stay. Such fun cooking with the fresh vegetables and fruit we could obtain at the Campo de Fiori, three minutes away. And, the little restaurant left of the Librari building entrance has excellent deep-fried cod to go. Recommended by Gourmet Magazine, no less!

Owner response:thank you.

Great location!

Date of Stay: 04/18/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this flat. It is located in a building from the 17th century that has a lot of character. The small piazza in front of the flat was wonderful - with a 16th century church, a great cafe to grab a panini and a fish restaurant that has been there for over 100 years (lines out the door every night). The flat is also a 2 minute walk to Campo De Fiori where there is a wonderful market every day from 8am to 3pm and fantastic restaurants in the evenings. Nicola was a great host and very helpful. We have a family of six (2 adults and 4 teenage children) and were very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. We have previously stayed at very nice hotels in Rome, but would much rather stay at this flat with the additional space and a great "old city Rome" feel to it. The only complaint was that after our stay, we never heard back from the owner and never received our deposit back (or any explanation as to why it wasn't returned).

Owner response:Thankyou for the review. I think that there is some misunderstanding for the security deposit return, as a security deposit was not received from the guest. The 30% deposit payment was paid in advance on PayPal, and then the balance was by bank transfer, but this did not include the security deposit. The security deposit was also not paid in cash at check-in, so there was nothing to return. Please check your bank statements, and I am sorry if there has been some confusion.

Charming and spacious apartment in a great location

Guest: Illinois family (Wilmette, IL, USA)
Date of Stay: 03/27/11 Review Submitted: 04/24/11

Our family, including three teen-age children, spent a wonderful week in the Librari flat. The flat was spacious, clean, charming, well furnished and ideally located near great restaurants and attractions (we walked to sights including the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Colosseum and the Vatican) and great restaurants. We literally walked everywhere. The Campo de Fiori is just steps away -- very active from morning as a market and evening as a nightspot surrounded by cafes. Giovanna provided a very helpful list of recommended area restaurants, and Nicola, who met us at check in, also provided really helpful suggestions. We focused on spots favored by locals. A few favorites included the Roscioli bakery for pizza and the Roscioli restaurant (a separate spot, both just steps away), Der Pellaro, Da Francesco, Maccheroni, Ivo, Antico Arco (great for a date night), Cafe Ducati (for espresso with amazing whipped coffee-flavored sugar), and for gelatto San Crispino (near the Pantheon) and Fior di Luna (in Trastevere). There are also grocery stores and wine shops close by. The apartment's terrace was lovely for a late afternoon glass of wine. The headroom in parts of the loft and kitchen is limited, but the apartment is spacious by European standards and easily accomodated a family of five. We would recommend the Librari flat to anyone looking for a charming, clean, comfortable and ideally located apartment as a base for a wonderful Roman holiday.

Owner response:many thanks!! best

Librari flat for a week with teenagers

Best location, but Neighborhood is not for light sleepers. Convenient to Campo market, delis, bakery, supermarkets and restaurants. Easy to get to sights by foot or bus. Nicola is delightful and met us for early check in. Apartment is clean, well appointed and kitchen well equipped. Plenty of hot water. Stairs were fine for us and our two teens, but may be tricky for some. Have no reservations in returning to this apartment or recommending. Very friendly neighborhood a PLUS.

Owner response:many thanks for the good review.

Wonderful Apartment in a perfect location!

Date of Stay: 02/21/11 Review Submitted: 03/04/11

We rented this apartment for a family stay in Rome, and it was the perfect choice. Nicola, the property manager showed up promptly and instructed us about everything we needed to know. She was responsive throughout the week if we had any questions. This was one of the largest apartments I've ever rented in Europe; a big master bedroom with an ensuite and terrace, a smaller bedroom with a full bath, a storage room with a rollaway downstairs, and then a loft office with another bathroom (which is a wet room) and bedroom upstairs. This upstairs bedroom is reached by a ladder. All the bathrooms had heated towel bars. There was plenty of storage place everywhere. The kitchen was fully equipped, but you need to be careful of the beams if you are tall. Water pressure in bathrooms was o.k., especially for an older building. The location of this apartment couldn't be better. We walked everywhere; to the Vatican, Colloseum, Piazza Navona, etc., and there are many cafes within walking distance, along with shops and of course, the market on Campo De Fiore. We especially enjoyed eating at Magnolias, and also getting pizza at Roscioli (a nearby bakery). It was a great trip and I would certainly rent this apartment again.

Owner response:Thank you very much, for the beautiful words. I'm very happy you enjoyed your holiday in Rome in my apartment. Thank again. best. Giovanna

Giovanna, I never did write to tell you that we had a simply marvellous time in the apartment – it was a joy and a jewel. Nicola was a great help (especially in pointing us to Cafe Farnese for coffee), and the location was perfect - close to the actiuon, but not in it. My wife and I loved it, and so did our two teenagers (who also loved having bedrooms to themselves). Chris, Australia

Location is wonderful and appartment is charming but no luxury. Everything was great but; water pressure for shower is very poor and the ceiling is too low in kitchen, part of dining room and upstairs bedroom for someone like me who is over average height l!

We loved this place. My Mother, sister and I spent 6 lovely nights at Libri. It was wonderful to sit on the deck in the morning, have coffee and plan the day. The bells are so sweet to listen too and there are no cars on this street. Very nice touches through out the home and very clean. Nicola was very kind and made sure we got our cab at the very end. would stay here again for sure.

Perfect flat for our family!!

This apartment was perfect for us. Our three preteen grand daughters loved the bedroom in the loft. There's not much headroom there but it was great for them. My wife and I enjoyed the master bedroom and the small patio extending off of it. Plenty of headroom here. Our daughter slept in the single bedroom. All of the bathrooms are very modern. The living and dining area are quite spacious with high ceilings and the area is very bright due to the large windows. The adjacent steps seemed a little scary, but we put a table next to them for safety sake. There is an elevator, but it's necessary to climb one flight of stairs to get to the apartment. We ate many meals in the apartment and the kitchen was quite satisfactory despite the low ceiling. This is a great area of Rome. The campo di fiore Is only a few steps away and the area is very safe and picturesque. Our favorite restaurant was al Balastreri next to the campo. Great Pizza! The property manager Nicola was very helpful and responsive to our needs. We hope to visit Rome again with some other grandchildren and I couldn't think of a better place to stay. By the way the pickup service at the airport was well worth it.

Wonderful Flat, great location

Five of us stayed at Library Flat for one week and had a great time. The flat was spacious, very comfortable, very clean, and so well located we walked to most of the sites we wanted to see. We had arranged to be picked up at the airport, and it was so nice to be met after an overnight flight, the driver was courteous and informative. At the flat we were met by Nicola who was friendly and extremely helpful with information about the area. She also arranged for a driver to the train station on our departure. We enjoyed visiting the market in Campo di Fiori most mornings, and returning in the evenings to visit the many restaurants. The flat was well equipped with a washing machine, a room for drying our clothes, iron, hair dryer., and well furnished with antique furniture which added to it's charm We enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace after full days of sightseeing. We were in Italy for four weeks, Rome being our first stop and Library Flat was the perfect place to start our adventure. Thanks Nicola

Wonderful flat, good value and perfect location!

I stayed at the Librari Flat Sept 5-11 with a friend of mine, and we both absolutely LOVED the place. The flat is beautifully and tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We used the private car service, and it was so convenient to be met at the airport. We were also greeted at the flat by the caretakers who showed us around and explained how to use everything. The location in the Centro Storico was PERFECT. We walked just about everywhere we wanted to go in 3 kilometers or less. Catching a bus to other locations was easy from the Largo di Torre Argentina, about 500 meters away. Due to proximity to Campo de Fiori and the surrounding bars, the street noise did get a little loud on Friday night. I would suggest future guests either stay out late to party, too, or pack earplugs for the weekend. Some nightlife noise is normal for life anywhere in a city, though, and it does not diminish my strong recommendation for the Librari Flat. This trip was our first time in Rome, and staying at the Librari Flat was a big part of why our vacation was so amazing. The next time I visit Rome, I will definitely want to stay here again. I threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, so I know I'm coming back! :-)

Quiet, comfortable and a three minute walk to Campo dei Fiori

Date of Stay: 06/15/10 Review Submitted: 07/09/10

We had a great time in Rome and the Library Flat was wonderful. We were minutes from everything in the central historic city and yet (literally) only a couple of minutes to Campo dei Fiori. We enjoyed the late afternoons on the terrace, we were able to do our laundry with no problems, one of our favorite restaurants in Rome, "Osteria ar Galletto" was less than 5 minutes away in Piazza Farnese and there were grocery stores very close by. Nicola was wonderful and extremely helpful. On the day it rained, we pulled out the Italian Monopoly board in the living room and amused ourselves for a while till the sun came back out. The apartment is in a beautiful old building and it is very quiet and the air conditioning worked perfectly for the hot days of June. We come to Rome often. It is one of our favorite places in the world. We are so happy to have found the Library Apartment.

The location of this apartment was perfect! You are able to walk to the market in Campo Di Fiori every morning (except Sunday of course) and within walking distance of Piazza Navonna and Piazza Farnese. The apartment was spotless and very roomy for 2 adult couples. I would highly recommend this apartment for a week in Rome. It was nice having a kitchen with a refrigerator and washer machine. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby also.

We loved this apartment. It was perfect for my 82-year-old mother and my 15-year-old niece, who had her own little suite on the top level with bedroom, bathroom, and office area. The location was terrific--just steps from Capo di Fiori, with it's daily farmers market and then night life. It was more spacious than I thought from the photos and had a large separate room for drying our clothes. I would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone and will be certain to stay here again.

We had a great experience during our stay at this apartment. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and given a packet full of useful information about the area. The apartment itself was in great condition with a very cozy feel as well as roman charm to it. The location was perfect and was within walking distance to the market, grocery stores, clothing stores, restaurants, and all major attractions.
