My wife and I stayed here while visiting our WWU daughter, who liked it so much she stayed with us rather than at her own place. One evening we used the new Weber gas grill to prepare fresh salmon on the large deck for our daughter and her friends. They enjoyed dining on the deck overlooking the beautiful back yard and were enthusiatic about the flat. While morning coffee on the deck is great, it is even better to take an enjoyable 15 to 20 minute walk on a nature trail to Woods Coffee Shop on Boulevard Park. Fairhaven and its great bookstores and restaurants are a hilly 30 minute walk away. The Cliff House restaurant is right across the street. WWU is straight up the hill as the crow flies but can be reached only by meandering through an unsolveable maze of streets, providing a great opportunity for viewing early 20th century architecture. Cv and Sheryl have not overlooked anything in their efforts to make this a great getaway flat. We have found our home away from home when visiting our daughter. (Only one caution -- if you cannot negotiate stairs, this place is not for you.)

My husband, daughter and I were looking for weekend get away from Vancouver and found this great place that fit all our needs. Our daughter loved the Koi pond, pet chickens, trundle bed and air guitar; my husband appreciated the stainless Viking gas range and all the custom cherry cabinetry details throughout and I loved the cosy king bed suite and bay view bath soaker tub bathroom we hope to use next time. This spacious home and its large south facing deck would comfortably house any family in style. The friendly owners have taken great care to cover all the details that make a get away enjoyable. We look forward to visiting this charming home again. Shannon & Harvey

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for 10days in October when visiting our son and family. We had sun shine, fog and rain the apartment was cozy and had a beautiful relaxing view of the bay. Everything you could wish for was there. Spotlessly clean, with plenty of towels and a washer and dryer. On Demand TV. DVD player and movies, XBox and books in every room. The back garden and flowers, chickens, a Koi pond and a wonderful grey cat the would stroll by. A great kitchen for cooking if you wished. We managed to get our legs back in shape walking the stairs - great exercise, The only thing if you are older and cannot manage to carry heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs you should think about it... Or not bring heavy bags... I would opt for the last one as this is a must stay apartment. Looking forward to out next visit

I have visited twice now to shop with family and friends. It is such a beautifully thought out residence. The view is superb, including from the soaker tub under the eaves. Immaculate and in excellent repair. The layout allows for night people and day people to co exist comfortably. I am a vrbo owner and Chris and Sheryl have certainly raised the bar on this type of accommodation.

I would say that this house had all the comforts of home, but it is so much nicer! The owners have put a lot of care and attention into every detail about this property. The beautiful home is equipped with absolutely everything you could need, and in a very thoughtful way. My family of three luxuriated in the extra room. We enjoyed the living room and soaking tub with views of the bay; chef's kitchen; excellent comfy beds; private deck; and gorgeous gardens. We felt completely private, yet the owners were steps away when we had questions. The chickens, cat and koi pond in the backyard provide additional entertainment. The flat is very convenient to restaurants, shops and parks, and also is well located for accessing points north and south of town. (The home is on a hillside and involves a fair amount of stairs. Everything about it outweighs this, but should be noted if stairs are difficult.) Highlights of the area for us included Mt. Baker (Artist Point), Whatcom Park, PNW trail, and the WWU campus. We are looking forward to the next opportunity we will have to stay in this beautiful home. Thank you so much for providing such a great property and warm hospitality!

This flat demonstrates the owners' care and generosity at every turn. From the high-end appointments to individually chosen antiques, the place invites you to relax and enjoy. The outdoor space is as impressive as the inside, with adorable chickens, cat, and koi sharing the beautiful garden. The location couldn't be more ideal- midway between downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven, with the gorgeous bay laid out right in front of you. It's a beautiful area- don't miss Whatcom Falls. Everything we needed was there inside, located logically and easily accessible. Super clean. The owners were present downstairs and available for consultation and also maintained appropriate privacy. Two caveats: there are many steps leading to the front door- could be difficult for people with mobility issues. And there is no door on the master bedroom. It sits at the top of a stairway, so is private visually, but sounds from downstairs are easily audible.

Our family group of five stayed a full week at the Flat on South Hill in Bellingham. Each day we went sightseeing, and each night we returned "home" to the flat. The comfort and layout of the flat, made it easy to feel at home. The morning vistas from the living room were only surpassed by the sunsets. The owners seem to have thought of everything! Some nights we grilled, some nights we prepared dinner in that amazing kitchen. When we wanted to eat out, the owners pointed us to a local restaurant with great food,(Boundary Bay) The flat added so much more to our vacation. Our base camp to explore Washington and lower BC. We have stayed in vacation rentals in many locations, and the flat compares favorably with those in Rome and Paris.

This was our first experience with VRBO and it far exceeded our expectations. The flat is so comfortable I could live in it permanently. Such a beautifully decorated classic home everything in it feels new and absolutely spotless. The living room window was my favorite location to watch the ever-changing bay activity - what a joy! The garden behind the house was a real treat and watching the chickens go about their day brought more smiles from our family. Can't wait to return.

This was exactly what we were hoping for when we planned this trip to Bellingham. The house is in a central location with ample parking (even when the restaurant across the street was crowded for Valentine's Day). It was always easy to get to and from home even if the weather was less than cooperative. I cannot say enough about how well appointed, clean, and comfortable the rooms were. We all slept soundly and woke to an unbelievable view of the bay. The kitchen was the greatest with the stainless Viking range/oven, large refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher , as well as, a large gas barbeque grill on the deck. We had plenty of everything to prepare meals for our college student who was thrilled to be able to enjoy "home"cooked meals. The only possible negative would be the number of steps to navigate to get to the front door. The owners have provided plenty of good lighting and handrails to mitigate any problems even in the drizzle. And speaking of the owners - they are a lovely and helpful couple who live onsite. Very useful. We are keeping this house at the top of our list for a return visit.

We stayed here for a week in late August and enjoyed every minute of it. The flat was immaculate with quality amenities, a gorgeous kitchen, and excellent craftsmanship on the decor and the wood work. Cool repurposed antiques were a joy. The master bedroom is on a second level, a bit like a loft, with its own bath and huge bathtub that has a view of the bay. We sat in the living room and watched beautiful sunsets every night. The owners are very gracious and accommodating. This is the place to stay for visiting Bellingham and especially Fairhaven!

We had a lovely stay in this flat and the view of the bay was spectacular! We enjoyed the convenience of the full kitchen for our meals; the amenities provided made our stay incredibly comfortable. We didn't even get to use the game stations, nor did we watch much TV, though there were large flatscreens throughout the unit. The building owners were quiet and very friendly. They gave us a great recommendation for a local coffee shop; their directions lead us on a pleasant morning stroll to a fun little cafe in a park on the bay. This flat was the perfect choice for our visit to Bellingham. It was so comfortable, beautifully maintained (there's a koi pond!) and located so close to the downtown and historic areas that we drove only once (to the grocery store) the whole week we were there. The next time we head to the Northwest, we will be booking this flat again!

This past July, myself along with my 3 girlfriends rented this amazing flat to stay at during my wedding. We wanted a girls-only getaway for the nights leading up to the big event. From the moment we set foot on this property, it immediately exceeded our expectations (We literally jumped up and down, like 10 year old girls:) . There were so many things we enjoyed about this flat. Just to name a few; the beautiful landscaped backyard, the chicken coop, amazing views from almost every room (including upstairs bath), beautiful kitchen, extreme cleanliness, very cozy atmosphere throughout the house, and to top it off, such kind owners! We were so lucky to find this flat and can't wait to come back. It made my wedding experience truly unforgettable. I can't imagine anyone not loving this place!
