  My husband and I love going to the beach in the winter when it is quiet and chilly. This was our second stay at Whata Gift and we hope it will not be our last. Connie is great and the house was wonderful. Thank you!

  This house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. It is in the perfect location, just steps from the ocean. We appreciated the roomy parking area under the house. Very generous owner, providing sheets, towels, and a closet full of bicycles and beach toys and chairs! My only complaint is that we had to leave this piece of paradise too quickly!

  Connie.. the house was perfect.. Comfortable, spacious, and Linens were fabulous..Loved the big kitchen, decks, and sundecks..This House is perfect for gatherings.. Only negative is if you really need "sitting space" living room little small for large crowds...but who heck stays inside @ the beach..You cannot go wrong with this rental..I would def rent again.. and don't dare bring your own linens.. do the rental service linens were plentiful and very nice..Kitchen was fully equipped and lots of beach chairs too.. I could go on on ..

  What A Gift was such a fantastic place for our college group from the 70's to meet and renew our friendships, and just have a relaxing time. The house was perfect with plenty enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy. The front balcony was a great gathering spot for us all to talk, laugh, and enjoy the beautiful weekend. The short walk to the beach made it easy for return trips for food, beverages and bathroom breaks. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. Connie was so easy to work with, and I even enjoyed stopping by the Ocean Twist Deli on an earlier trip down to OIB - a must during their open season!!! Thanks so much for making our stay at OIB and in your gorgeous house such a fabulous time...we will be sure to recommend this to our friends, and hope to be back soon!!!!!!

  My family of 10 (my husband and myself, our 2 daughters, their husbands and 4 children - two 5-year olds and two 7-year olds) just spent a week at Whatta Gift. This was our first visit to Ocean Isle Beach but definitely won't be our last. Connie was wonderful to work with and the house was just as shown in the pictures and described on VRBO. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly have needed, even for my son-in-law's big feast he cooked for us on Thursday. We opted to purchase the linen package and this proved to be a good decision. The linens were first quality and there was more than enough. The view is indescribable and the location was perfect for our family. Almost every day we were able to watch dolphins playing from the deck or out the windows. We were blessed with beautiful weather as well and the grandchildren actually played in the ocean almost every day which was a pleasant surprise for the first week of April. There was nothing more we could have asked for during our stay - the Styers' have thought of everything. I highly recommend this rental and do plan to stay here again on our next trip to OIB.

  I just want to that Connie for allowing us to stay at her wonderful home. My family and I had such a great time. Even though a big chill came through during our stay we still had a great time. It was so nice to have toiletries and cleaners already at the home for us. It making packing so much easier. The kids loved swinging on the porch swings below the house. I loved being so close to the beach. The kids could just run back and forth. Since, it was chilly we headed to Wilmington to see the Fort Fisher Aquarium-the kids had a great time. And we also took them to Planet Fun-great place for the kids-Google it-it was a great way to keep the kids busy. We can't wait to go back again next year!

  Owner response: Unfortunately, the weather did turn on you during your stay. That is one factor I wish we could control. It's great to hear you took advantage of nearby Wilmington, NC- so much to see and do for both adults and children. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate on your next trip our way. This fall, Dylan is adding new features to the carport area to make it more relaxing for conversation and cookouts. This will be a great place for the kids to hang out away from the adults but within close range.

  This was our second year staying at "What a Gift" and we can't wait to go back! We stayed the first week of July - and now as the Hurricane is nearby we are worried about our little piece of paradise!!!!!! We absolutely LOVE our week at Ocean Isle Beach and Connie is the perfect host! The new deck furniture is beautiful - as well as everything else in the house. But besides the beautiful home - you can't beat the privacy and gorgeous beach. It truly is paradise

  What a sad day it is when you must leave. This is a tremendous property. Quiet, at the end of the street, very well decorated and maintained, and a stone's throw to the water. Connie was great to work with, and my family could not possibly be happier with our vacation. Two of the gals actually shed a tear or two on departure day. This was our first trip to Ocean Isle, and we will absolutely be back. There is no reason to look for another vacation home, this is THE one! (Unless it's the week that we schedule!) Thanks Connie!

  My entire family spent the week of July 16, 2011 at Whatagift and it was truly a gift. We have been going to Ocean Isle for many years always staying in a canal home about mid island. We have dreamed for a long time to stay ocean front and we were not disappointed. It was all we could have asked for. We had a wonderful week which started on Saturday with our daughter getting engaged on the beach right below the house. It was also our third grandchild's first beach trip ( 11 weeks old) so the location of the home made it perfect for coming and going to the beach. The home was very nice, bright and comfortable. The views were unbelievable and the location is great. We found being on the east end of the island was much less crowded and so much more enjoyable. We enjoyed meeting Connie, she was very kind and very helpful. We intend to return next year for another enjoyable week.
