  Thank you so much to the Matthews for opening their beautiful home to others. In August my family from all across the US met at Matthews Manor. We had a wonderful time and never wanted for anything. The house and location provided with plenty of activities to do as a large group and yet areas for privacy. We swam in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub, and boated on the lake. Groups of us took in a Braves game, went to the outlet stores, took the kids to the musuem. We did a Road Rally / Scavenger Hunt through Gainesville and had a blast! Did you know it was the "Poultry Capital of the World"? Maurice, the caretaker, gave us an excellent tour of the house and showed us how to operate all the amenities. We made so many memories and were able to become a closer family from the ages of 10 months to 72 years old. Thank you There are steps down to the pool and the hillside to the dock has many steps down the hill, but they didn't stop us from a great time. Some of us with bad knees went to the neighborhood marina to get on and off the boat.

  The home is absolutely beautiful! My whole family gathered here for a family reunion consisting of 16 adults and 12 children. There was so much offered right here on the premises that our guest only left one day to go to a water park, make regular store runs and for a boat rental which is a must when on a beautiful lake such as this. Everything is right there for you and it was amazing. Plenty of fun and relaxation plus privacy when needed. You couldn't ask for anymore. We loved your home and hope to come back real soon.

  We had a WONDERFUL week with our whole family (18). There was more than enough room for all of us and probably 8- 10 more. Property was exactly as advertised, very neat and clean, and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, the pool, the lake and each other! Our only complaint was that it went too fast! Hoping to rent this home again next summer. Would recommend this rental property without a doubt.

  We stayed at this home right before the Christmas holiday to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary. This home is a dream getaway. Everything was just perfect. If I didn't have to leave the grounds; that would have been fine with me. This home is very clean, warm, inviting and truly upscale. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. Maurice the property manager was so helpful, kind and caring. The process of reserving it was a smooth transaction of emails and confirmations. I am going to schedule to stay at this property again just my husband and I the next time. I can imagine the summer visits to this home with the pool, volleyball courts and private decks. The view of the lake before the sun comes up was breathtaking. My daughter played the beautiful piano for us, the built in music system plays in the lower part of the home. There is a special room for everyone and the decorating was impeccable. Fireplaces were everywhere even in the kitchen. I can go on and on. Please don’t ever sell this home. I found my Georgia getaway!!! I am a well versed traveler and this is my style home of a getaway right here in Georgia. I can't wait to come back. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home, everything was just as it showed and more of the pictures that were posted. Wow beautiful, beautiful vacation home. I need to reserve the summer really soon.

  We had a group of 12 golfers from across the country and Europe converge on this home the first week in October. The weather and golf were fantastic and the accommodations outstanding! The home easily absorbed our group, providing room to convene and room to spread out. The lake dock, hot tub and kitchen got thorough workouts, all earning high points. We expect to return!

  I have to say, Matthews Manor is a dream house. I honestly cannot find the words to describe how amazing our holiday was and it was all due to this beautiful lake house. Each and every person that stayed there or even those that came to visit, could not have been happier with the place. We will remember this trip forever and its all thanks to this wonderful home that you and your family have built. I will never forget the site of the most amazing sunsets from the party deck on the boat dock. You really have thought of everything, the creature comforts, the level of activities, the attention to detail and the beauty of your home will remain in our hearts and minds for life. We made so much use of every bit of your home and I have to say when our last day came to an end we were all extremely sad, but very grateful and thankful for the opportunity to have been able to stay at such an amazing home. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to stay at your home and I really do hope that we can revisit again sometime in the future. Finally, the Caretaker Maurice, was an absolute pleasure to be around. A true gentleman, with a heart of gold!

  This place was great! I went here with a group of 20 friends from college and we couldn't have been happier with it. The location was perfect. Easy access to the lake and a bit secluded with stores being a short drive away. The house was also big enough that we never once felt cramped. My group particularly liked the pool. We spent an entire day lounging around it. Good times! Highly recommended if you've a large group wanting a weekend to yourselves.

  Came with our 4 daughters and thier husbands to celebrate 35th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. House was great. Plenty of space to gather as a group, yet also able to find quiet areas when you wanted alone time. View of the lake is fabulous from the house. We rented a boat and had a wonderful time exploring the lake. House is everything you see in the pictures and then some. Would suggest an outside shower head to rinse off from the lake, but we certainly made do with the hose. Yes, we even jumped from the party deck above the boathouse into the lake, Definitly worth doing.Visited some local wineries and even spent one day in Atlanta since it was only 1 hour away. Our vacation created great memories that will last for many years. Caretaker Maurice was great to work with as well.

  We just spent a terrific week at this palace on Lake Lanier for our annual family reunion. We had more than enough room for the 20 of us and the house couldn't have fit our needs better. We are a very active group and our clan, whose ages span six months to 91 years old loved the place. The setting on the lake is superb and the rooms and furnishings are as you see them in the photo's. The beds and bathrooms were most comfortable with plenty of hot water when needed. One more upstairs bathroom would have been nice but we managed. The living and gathering areas on the first floor are terrific for entertaining a large group not to mention the area below on the terrace level or the available deck area that spans the length of the house and surrounds the pool area. The kitchen is well appointed and everything is very functional making it easy to quickly adapt to a place you are not used to. There was little need to hunt or want for anything! The pool and hot tub are a great size for a lot of people. A terrific caretaker of the house also adds to your wonderful stay here! You never have to leave the house. All you need is a boat or Jet Ski to get out on the lake and you can enjoy one of the greatest locations on the lake in a beautifully furnished house that most of us can only dream about!

  This is an ideal home for a large group gathering. Every summer for the past 20 years we've rented a vacation home for our family gathering. This year, we unanimously agreed that this lake house was our very favorite! We hope to return.
