We had a great week in Cape May. It was wonderful to stay across the street from the bay and to experience a less-traveled area of town. The house easily accommodated three adults and two teenagers. It was very clean, comfortable, and the second floor deck is a great place to watch the sun set into the bay. The location is very convenient to all amenities yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. We would definitely recommend the property to friends.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was the second year that I stayed here and it felt like I was at home again. The place is clean, the description of the property is accurate and the location is absolutely the best. You cross one small street and you are at the Bay. You can sit on the deck and watch the sunset. The owner was helpful and very nice to deal with. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a rental.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I planned a spur of the moment getaway weekend to the beach and were delighted to discover this Cape May retreat. Dave and Janine were most accommodating with our last minute plans and we spent a most relaxing three days with two other family members the weekend of Oct 15-17. From the moment we arrived it felt like our home away from home. The house is so inviting and open and airy; decorated in warm colors and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is generously equipped for food prep and dinnerware and we were eager to make use of the grill and other amenities the house has to offer. Although the weather that weekend was windy and too cool for swimming we enjoyed several long walks on the beach, took advantage of the bikes for some neighborhood rides and took a myriad of photos of the beautiful sunsets from just steps away from our front door. There is so much to do in the Cape May area. We visited the Cape May Winery for an afternoon tasting, took in the Harvest Festival at the Emlen Physick Estate, walked around all the wonderful shops on Washington Street (don't miss the delightful gift shop "Across the Way") and we bought a variety of fresh fish from the Lobster House Fish Market to bring back and cook on the grill. We are definitely looking forward to a return trip and a longer stay in the new year at this seaside haven. Thanks so much again Dave and Janine.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time! The house had everything you could possibly need. It was great to be able to go for bike rides, fishing, swimming and walking the beach right across the street from the house. The sunsets where beautiful. We spent a couple of days at Cape May beach but my youngest really enjoyed swimming in the bay the best and collecting rocks. The beach was never crowded. The only bad thing was we had to cut our vacation a day short because of hurricane Irene.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Of all the vacation homes we’ve rented in the past this home gets an A++. The owners are great to talk too and they have gone to great lengths to make sure the house was equipped with all your daily needs. The neighborhood is very quiet and if you’re a late riser you’ll miss both vacationers and residences taking their morning walks or jogs. The beach is as quiet as the neighborhood; most of the time we were the only ones on the beach. After going to Sunset Beach to hunt for diamonds we found just as many on this beach along with fossils. This house location is perfect; anywhere you want to go is just a short drive.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The house was great, everything was just as described. The view was fabulous and the kids loved walking on the beach collecting stones, playing with the horseshoes crabs and returning the live ones back to the water. The Cape May Beach was clean and had real bathrooms (no porta potties!!!) We had a wonderful vacation and would recommend this property to any of our friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This vacation was one of the best I have had at the shore. The location is excellent. We watched the sunsets from the deck every night. The house is exactly as listed - clean and well maintained. The owners were very nice to deal with. I would recommend this rental to anyone who is thinking of going. The Ferry was close and Cape May beach is about 15 minute drive. The Bay is just steps away. I love he Lobster House Restaurant - even for take-out. I would love to go again.Owner response: Renee, We are glad that you and your father had a great time!! Dave

This is my second year renting and this year was even more enjoyable then the first. As others have written, the view and proximity to the beach are second to none. The cottage is decorated and equipped like you would if you owned it yourself. This being the second year we have rented we knew that we didn't have to worry about bringing anything additional. Every amenity is provided even the necessary condiments for in-house cooking or BBQ are available if needed. The supermarket is also only 5 min away to stock up for the week. All you need are fishing rods, sun tan lotion and sun glasses. The owner is always very accommodating and usually emails me while we are there to check if every thing is ok. He will also provide suggestions for rainy day activities and is very responsive in answering questions. The owner is always improving on the cottage so you have something new to experience each year. This year they added beatuiful new patio funiture, a new gas grill and a convenient Kurig coffee maker. If you come down with children and want to save money on the ammusments, order the ride tickets in the early spring to save about 40%. We all love this cottage and look forward to coming again next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at the house for a long weekend in September. The location was perfect. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach as the tide came in and out. The street was so quite, I did not worry about them crossing. The house was very spacious and clean. The garage was fully stocked with beach toys and bikes. We had friends and family stop by for dinner one night, and there was plenty of room for everyone. I would highly recommend this house and we hope to visit again!Recommended for: Families with young children

We stayed here for two weeks in August 2010. The house is very comfortable, well stocked with kitchen gear, board games, WiFi. Master suite upstairs was incredible-- good sized bed room and a great room with view of the bay and fantastic deck. Owner Dave is extremely helpful and answered all questions promptly. Any concerns I had about not being in Cape May "proper" were more than overcome by proximity to bay beach right across the street-- great for evening strolls. Traffic in and around Cape May was never a problem and ocean beaches, Cape May restaurants, cultural activities and most important bird walks with Cape May Bird Observatory were easily accessible with 15 minute drive. Would highly recommend to anyone. Quiet and family friendly.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Shelly, thanks for your detailed post on your stay. I am happy that you and your family enjoyed the house. I do want to clarify that for readers that our second floor bedroom, while very nice, is not a master and has separate bathroom. Thanks again. Dave Lewis

This home is a real find. It is comfortable and well outfitted with linens, towels, and all cooking items. We were 6 people--my husband and I, our two sons, and my parents. The beds were all very comfortable (I dread the "taco bed" of some hotels and rentals!) and we were all able to spread out and fine places to read, watch TV, and play. The kids took over the upper family room to spread out the Legos we brought. We saw dolphins from the deck every day. The proximity to the beach cannot be beat, and we swam, walked, and collected shells every day. There is also lots to do besides the beach. We loved Historic Cold Springs Village, the Cape May Zoo, the lighthouse and sunken ship, and Cape May town. Even in the rain the house was comfortable. This place is a real find!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

When I read that a place is right on the beach, I never quite believe it. What a surprise to discover this jewel of a house. From the upstairs deck, you get a completely uninterrupted and breathtaking view of the bay. And the traffic on the little road is almost non-existent, making this whole experience peaceful and cozy. Our stay was in June, and we were often the only ones on the beach. The house itself is very comfortable - we had 6 people staying there, and never felt crowded. The kitchen has everything you need - I just can't say enough about our great experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My daughter and I stayed in this beautiful beach house for a weekend. She really loved how close it was to the beach and the view of the beach from the upstairs porch. We loved the layout of this beach home. The living area was extra spacious and the bedrooms are very nicely decorated. We hope to return with the rest of our family for another stay at this beach side getaway.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Spending time at this bayfront cottage was a memory I will never forget. The wonderful water views and sunsets that are visible from most of the rooms inside as well as the wonderful deck just made you feel so relaxed. This is a perfect vacation cottage especially for those who want to have their own private bay beach to read or play in the sand, look for shells or kayak without the crowds, and yet just a 10 minute drive to all of the activities of Cape May or Wildwood. I loved being here and would definitely recommend it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
