Highly, highly recommend the Casita Treehouse! The apt is beautifully done with the most stunning wood and high arched ceilings. Everything you need is all there, from the kitchen to the comfy kingsize bed to the deck complete with lounge chairs and patio set to sit and enjoy "the jungle". Incredible wildlife with the monkeys, iguanas, squirrels, birds, butterflies visiting everyday but not intrusive at all - just curious and friendly. Being directly on the beach was fantastic, just a few steps and we were on miles of beach in both directions. The owners; Roger and Pat were marvellous hosts and extremely helpful with any questions we had, telling us where the popular restaurants were etc. Donna, the manager, is a wealth of information and also made our bookings for us from the airport and back. We are already planning our return trip back next March and can't wait to be back in our piece of paradise! 6 Stars!!

My husband and I stayed at the Casita for two enjoyable weeks this winter, and would return again in a minute. The Casita is beautifully appointed, making good use of the space. The bed is very comfortable and the unit is very clean. The best feature is the shaded outside terrace up under the mango tree, where we spent most of our time in the hot afternoons. A table and chairs proved the perfect spot for playing a game of cards, and chaise lounges were comfortable for reading or snoozing. Sitting up in the trees we had daily visits from monkeys, the resident inguana, racoons, bluejays and various other birds. We used the boogie boards, which were provided, every day. Walking alongside the main house takes you right to the main beach, where the water is warm and super for swimming. An outside shower is thoughtfully provided. Within easy walking distance are many restaurants and bars, a grocery store and the town centre. We didn't rent a car for our two week stay and didn't really need one. Donna was great for providing information about tours and answering questions any time of the day. Pat and Roger are super hosts, friendly and easy to talk to. The only reason we would hesitate to recommend this property is that we don't want it to be booked up the next time we would like to visit!

My wife has already submitted a review on our behalf but I could not leave it at that without saying thank you to everyone. It was the perfect spot for the perfect down time we needed. We have travelled to many varied locations and this one is now at the top of our list for a return visit. Once again, Thank You All!

I really don't know where to begin. Our stay at The Casita was exceptional from beginning to end, from the original booking process to our reluctant departure day. Donna was very helpful and accommodating, returning any emails we sent within the day! She had all the information we needed and arranged our pickup to and from the airport in Liberia without a hitch. She also arranged for an amazing personal boat tour of the estuary where we saw birds, monkeys, crocodiles and much, much, more. Roger and Pat were genuine, warm people who really wanted to be sure we were comfortable and enjoying our vacation. They were helpful with tips, quick with a wave and a smile but never invasive. Anna looked after the Casita with great care and detail daily - we rarely saw her but when we returned from a morning in town or exploring, our room had been cleaned, fresh towels for the bath and beach laid out and everything spotless. Celadonio the groundskeeper went about his duties each day with little commotion or noise but the lovely gardens and grounds showed the care and pride he takes in his job. Everyone talks about the Howler's but until you are there and realize how up close and personal you are with them and the other beautiful creatures, you cannot imagine how awesome it is. There is nothing like getting up to a beautiful day and having coffee on the deck a few feet away from local nature right in the mango tree. Spectacular is the closest word I can use to describe this feeling. The ocean is steps away and we fell asleep every night to the sound of the surf. Wow! No one could ask for more. We could go on to describe the local area in detail too but suffice to say the beach, the shops, the restaurants all within walking distance just add to the already amazing benefits of the Casita. We came on this vacation to decompress and this place was just what we needed. Thank you for the best vacation spot ever! Wanda (I wouldn't be surprised if Ken writes his own review, he is our vacation planner and is always so pleased when things work out to perfection)

This new and well-equipped apartment was beautifully situated in a delightful tropical garden and one story up so that it felt as if you were living in the trees. It was a completely wonderful experience for us all-around. It felt like home from the first day and we had to force ourselves to leave this quiet and serene piece of paradise to explore further afield (I read 3 books and Harvey 5). Located steps from the best part of Playa Tamarindo it was quiet, clean and well-maintained by Anna the housekeeper, and Celadonio the groundskeeper who tended to their tasks unobtrusively most every day. From the fresh sheets and plush bath and beach towels that were changed frequently, to the beautiful flowers and green mangos that were just an arms-length away (along with howler monkeys, squirrels, birds, iguanas, coati and butterflies) it all made for a most relaxing time. The owners Pat and Roger were genuinely friendly, gracious, and helpful with all our questions and general orientation needs. As was Donna the property manager who was extremely knowledgable about all the various outdoor activities, people, and events in the area. She arranged for us the booking of a very special boat tour of an estuary nature preserve that ended with a traditional Tico lunch in a small rural village that was a particular highlight of the trip. We didn't have a car the first week as the main part of town was just a 15 minutes' walk away. The best food market for groceries was the "Auto Mercado" a bit out of town (car or taxi needed), followed by the Super Compro in town. Our 3 favorite restaurants were The Dragon Fly (Asian-California fusion), Wok and Roll (Korean, Thai, Vietnamese), and La Baula (fresh brick oven pizzas and pastas). But many others to choose from that looked great but couldn't get to. Visited Rincon de la Vieja on the 2nd week when we had a car as it was about 2 hours away and great for a day trip (its the Yellowstone Park of Costa Rica). Also checked out beach towns to the south with a stop at Cafe Rio Negro in Playa Rio Negro which was exceptionally excellent (esp. their cheesecake!)as well as Playa Grande to the north (came here several times during our stay as it was divine). All-in-all every aspect of our stay at this wonderful casita far surpassed our expectations in its comfort, beauty and amenities. As a result we have to give it 6-stars out of 5.....

This is a lovely place in Tamarindo.... Just steps to the beach and walking distance to nice restaurants and shops. The gardens on the property are loaded with beautiful flowers and there are resident iguanas. At the time we stayed there (Jan.) the mangos were not ripe, so no monkeys in the trees, but we did enjoy seeing some colorful birds. The studio apt is stocked with all the utensils and cookware we needed for our 3 day stay. The manager, Donna is helpful in planning excursions and we highly recommend Enrique Estero as a guide for the estuary trip. Donna booked this for us. If there isn't a rubber bath mat in the shower, ask Donna for one. The floor of the shower is VERY slippery. If you are going to Monteverde before or after Tamarindo, we highly recommend Cabanas Valle Campanas. If you are coming to Tamarindo we would definitely recommend this tree house casita.

Two years ago my sweetheart took me to the Casita, where we enjoyed the perfect December weather and the unbelievably close stroll to the beach. After days of adventure zip lining through the jungle, we loved coming back to our quiet casita to cook tasty meals. The kitchen has all you need and groceries are reasonable. No car necessary; we went everywhere by foot. Last year we returned to the Casita. We had the opportunity to also check out the larger house, very nice, and a definite idea should we bring a large group back. But we were happier in our smaller place as it rekindled fond memories. It must have kindled something in my man as well, because we returned to USA engaged! Now, nearly a year later, we have the whole world to explore, but our number one choice is to return to our Casita!

My husband and I recently stayed in the Casita and had a wonderful time! The location was perfect - right on the beach and a quick walk to all the restaurants at the center of town. Donna was so helpful in setting up transportation to and from the airport and a horseback riding tour (our favorite activity of the trip). She was also available to set up estuary tours, surf lessons, and give recommendations on where to eat during our stay. We can't wait to return to Tamarindo and stay at the Casita again.

My wife and I stayed in the Casita behind the main house. It was much nicer than we expected, great beach right in front for walking, surfing, swimming. Very secure. Nice shower at gate when you step off the beach, very secure parking area. The interior was very high end, nice kitchen, TV , ceiling fans , skylight, tile floors, the king bed was more comfortable than our bed at home. Being that close to the beach really made our vacation very relaxing and is in a quiet part of the beach. Not far at all to the restaurants and main part of town, just a few minuted away. We want to thank Donna for taking care of us. Gary and Nellie from Austin see you next time.

My husband and I stayed in the Casita Tree House in April, 2011. The studio is ideal for a couple to relax and just "get away". The kitchen is adequately equipped and the shower is great! We especially enjoyed the private patio that looks into the massive mango trees. The wildlife you can see there is amazing! Squirrels, hummingbirds, monkeys, iguanas, raccoons (nighttime), and all kinds of beautiful birds. We loved the part of the beach that the casita is on, so quiet and a good place to learn surfing. Roger and Pat, the owners, are fabulous people. We had a wonderful time visiting with them. We highly recommend the Casita Tree House!

This house was so perfect! It was exactly what we were looking for; close to everything and right on the beach. It was secure, clean, nicely decorated, full of amenities and secluded. We had an amazing view of the beautiful Tamarindo beach and only a 5 minute walk down the beach, we could enjoy the liveliness of the town. We even got to see monkeys in the mango trees everyday! Donna was extremely helpful and friendly and we would recommend the property to anyone!!!

The casita is beautiful, clean and comfortable and the location is perfect. It's a simple studio style apt in the trees! We stayed for over a week last month. The property is right on a beautiful quiet beach, where it's perfect for learning to surf. It's located a short walk (about 10 min) from everything in Tamarindo and far enough away from town for tranquility. Howler monkeys visited us almost every afternoon to eat mangos from the huge tree above the casita. The owner was very accomadating to our changing travel plans and kind enough to arrange an awesome zip line tour for us! I highly reccommend the Casita! Wanted to stay forever in Costa Rican paradise!!

Perfect for 1 person or a couple--clean and new, very nicely furnished and super location. The best part for me was relaxing on the deck with my camera at the ready because the animals came to visit me! A family of 4 monkeys including a scampering mischievous baby visited one day. There's a resident tree iguana in the mango tree right in front of the deck and another grandisimo iguana in the neighbor's tree. Gobs of birds posed within feet of me plus the cute squirels. The sensible short walk into town is on the beach and the lovely hotel Capitan Suizo is just 3 doors up the beach. The manager, Donna is very helpful. I definitely recommend this casita.

My sister and I took a girls' trip to Costa Rica. Our stay at the Casita Del Mar was absolutely amazing. The apartment is brand new and has everything you need! The deck is great - we were greeted our first day with a welcoming group of monkeys in our mango tree. The casita is just steps away from the beautiful Tamarindo beach. It's like having your own private beach! The owners and property manager are awesome! They were all so helpful with every aspect of our trip -- from tours and restaurants to tips and transportation. The casita is in the perfect location -- you are close enough to walk on the beach to town, but far enough away for the feeling of privacy and seclusion. We had an amazing vacation and are definitely planning on making a return trip. On that return trip we will definitely be staying at the Casita Del Mar!
