  We very much enjoyed the condo in Long Beach, CA. It was designed and decorated very contemporary, a style we very much appreciate. Also, the balcony was fabulous! I wish we could have spent more time out there but it was chilly when we were in town. Because the condo is essentially surrounded by windows that did have an impact on the inside temperature so while we were in town it was unfortunately cool as was the condo. But Joe is thoughtful enough to provide space heaters which certainly helped with warming up the rooms we were occupying. I would recommend staying here as it is perfect proximity to many good restaurants and pubs!

  Owner response: BTW there is also a wall thermostat controlled central HVAC heating/cooling system in case you like to use it, which does warm things up nicely, and also cools it off in the summer...

  Stayed at this penthouse condo for 10 days with my 2 teenage sons and we all loved it! It's spacious, clean, and private, yet walking distance to numerous restaurants and venues... 5-6 blocks easy walk to LB Arena/Convention Center, 5 minute walk to Pine Street, etc. No car needed, but parking is available. The master bedroom and outdoor patio are awesome and the 2 living room sofas fold down into full size beds which were comfortable and convenient... full kitchen is spacious , laundry machines were a blessing, and the spa bathroom is a zen experience! Vons grocery store is 1block away, if you wish to eat in... many choice restaurants within a few blocks if you wish to eat out. Thanks, Joe, for a wonderful stay -- we would recommend your condo! We had a great visit to Long Beach.

  We cannot say enough good things about this property and location. I attended the annual ACNM conference in Long Beach and chose this rental based on the pictures, previous reviews and proximity to the conference center (~8-10 walk). Everything was exactly as it was stated in the advert and shown in the pictures, if not better and it was less expensive to stay here with a week's worth of groceries than it was to stay in a hotel next to the conference center. Joe was a gracious host who ensured we were comfortable and welcomed on arrival and gave us lots of good tips on where to eat and shop for groceries with great suggestions for vegetarian and organic food. Parking was easy and around the corner from the penthouse in a garage (also very economical). Everything was in walking distance of the flat, but it was nice to have our car to go into LA and do other day trips to Venice, Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove and other locales. The flat had everything we needed and then some - the kitchen is properly and adequately outfitted, there's a washer and dryer near the bath, there were ample supplies of everything you could possibly need or have forgotten and the refrigerator was even stocked with staples and refreshments. My husband, an art and history buff, was enamoured with all the books and magazines that were in the penthouse and I loved the amazingly comfortable bed (had the best nights of sleep there since falling pregnant!) and the fact that we could safely leave all our windows and balcony door open to enjoy California's lovely weather. While the flat is equipped with air con, we never used it as there is such good air flow throughout the penthouse and the weather was picture perfect even throughout the night - never too cold or too hot. The space is very art deco and contemporary. It's a definite must if going to Long Beach. We loved it so much we did not want to leave!

  Wir durften zwei schöne Wochen in diesem wunderbaren Apartment in Long Beach geniessen. Die Wohnung ist gross, bietet eine fantastische Aussicht - vor allem wenn es dunkel ist. Es ist mit allem, was es in den Ferien braucht, ausgestattet. Das Apartment liegt in der obersten Etage des Lafayette-Gebäudes, das auch in Architektur-Büchern erwähnt ist. Zu Fuss sind vom Apartment aus eine grosse Anzahl guter und preiswerter Restaurants erreichbar. Der gut sortierte Supermarkt ist gleich um die Ecke. Ein Auto ist zu empfehlen, um alle die Sehenswürdigkeiten (Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Disneyland, Venice Beach usw.) von Greater L.A. zu erreichen. Am besten fliegt man zum Long Beach-Airport und mietet von dort das Auto. Und dann möchten wir unbedingt Joe, den Eigentümer des Apartments erwähnen. Joe ist hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend, aber nie aufdringlich. Er begrüsste uns mit einem vollen Kühlschrank. Im gemeinsamen Flur, den man direkt mit dem Lift erreicht, überraschte er uns mit Früchten aus dem Garten seiner Mutter. Thank you very much and see you again. Mine & Hans, Zurich, Switzerland

  Nous avons passé d'excellents moments dans cet appartement de belle surface avec terrasse, vue panoramique imprenable sur la ville, très bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'accueil du propriétaire des lieux, Joe est un propriétaire très prévenant qui s'était même assuré que le frigo et les placards soient bien remplis à notre arrivée. L'appartement est très bien situé dans le centre "Art Déco" de Long Beach, l'immeuble possède une salle de sport, proche de beaucoup de restaurants (District Wine en bas de l'immeuble est super sympa, bon avec un excellent choix de vins de Californie à découvrir), de la plage et d'un supermarché ouvert de 6h-24h (très pratique). Joe est très serviable, accueillant et de bons conseils. On y retournera avec grand plaisir. Encore merci Joe pour ce magnifique séjour !

  Our stay at this penthouse was great in many ways. Great apartment, modern and contains everything that you need. Joe is really kind and helpful, a great person to rent of :) It takes like 10 min to the beach. The beach is so beautiful! It's definently worth it to stay at this apartment. Så ni som vill bo i Long Beach borde verkligen bo här, hur bra som helst och värt pengarna :) Take care Joe!

Just to clarify, the local beach (the shoreline that you can see from the condo) and marina area are about a three block, 10 minute walk down to the water's edge; an approximately 10 minute drive takes you to Belmont Shore, and from there, you can drive on into Orange County where you can enjoy Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, and on to San Diego county beaches. In the other direction are Venice Beach and Malibu. My favorite day trip is the 10 minute free bus or bike ride to the Catalina Island ferry boat terminal for a day on the island. So, whether you are walking or biking, public transit or driving, or even in the mood for a boat trip, we are surrounded by beautiful beaches! I appreciate your comments in Swedish too, and I hope you can visit again in the future.

  My wife and I stayed in this wonderful clean & spacious penthouse apartment from the 7th October 2010 for one week. Everything about our trip worked out very well, with the owner (Joe), always responding to emails very quickly and provided excellent information about local restaurants and bars, which were all within walking distance. Parking was provided nearby, at a very reasonable cost for the week we were there. The apartment has everything you need for a holiday and we would not hesitate in recommending this apartment for a break in Long Beach. The city is well worth a visit and is well connected to downtown Los Angeles by a 12 minute regular train service, which takes about 50 minutes, if you can't be bothered to drive and find parking, a day pass is only $6-00. Long Beach is ideally situated to explore the greater LA area and we made full use of all the reference books available in the apartment. Visit the Hayden Lounge around the corner, it is decorated for Halloween just now and the service was very good. All in all we had a great time at this home.

  Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

  3 of us stayed here for over a week in june and it was excelent! The place was so nice,clean, good space, fantastic view and the neighbourhood is good. Alot of nice restaurants,cafes, and places to go out in walking distance. The beach is also just 5 min away. The appartment has everything you need and the owner is super nice:) We visited for the first all the way from norway and he made our stay even better! I highly recomend this apartment for vacation rental! Til alle nordmenn, jeg kan anbefalle denne leiligheten om dere skal til LA. Den har et soverom, men om man er 3-4 stk er det ikke noe problem å sette opp ekstra madrasser i stua, det er kjempe god plass! Husvertern hadde til og med fyllt opp kjøleskapet før vi kom slik at vi hadde pålegg, juice, øl og vin pluss frukt og snacks. Dette er absolutt et bra alternativ istedet for hotel! Han bor i leiligheten ved siden av og bistår om man trenger hjelp til å finne steder å dra eller hjelp å komme dit. Han organiserte til og med transport de første dagene vi var der før vi leide bil. Han har en del kjent folk som han kan få ok dealer med. Denne transporten ble billigere enn å bruke taxi. Området er stille og det er kort kjøretur d.v.s ca 30-45 min både til hollywood, huntington beach og santa monica områdene. Kan aboslutt anbefalle denne leiligheten. Når det gjelder informasjon så får man alt man trenger av Joe og han gir virkelig det lille ekstra:)

  My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. I took her there as a suprise, but was a bit worried that it wouldn't look quite as nice as it did in the pictures. We got there and the manager, Joe, met us outside and escorted us to the pent house. We walked inside and couldn't believe how beautiful and clean it was. (It's even better than it looks in the pictures!) My wife was estatic! The views are fantastic, the kitchen is well stocked which is super nice not having to eat out for every meal, and Joe was a great host. Very helpful and friendly. He provided us with maps, information, anything we needed to see the best sites in the area. This was a great place for a honeymoon it's way beautiful and there's tons to do. I highly recommend it.

  The host is top notch as is the location and the views. We arrived in the late afternoon of Friday and met with our host after our first exposure to LA traffic. I really was not sure how this experience was going to play out. We have never gone on vacation without staying in a hotel. I will never stay in a hotel ever again. Our host treated us as guest in his house. We have views of the ports of Long Beach to one end and views of the beach itself on the other end. The penthouse was immaculate. Clean and maintained do not go far enough. The full kitchen made for less strain on the wallet. The full size washer and dryer meant coming home with more clean clothes than dirty. This is yet another vacation first for us. Our host gave us plenty of local knowledge in the ways of parking tips, public transport, and various local flavors. He had suggestions for day trips; area eats, and was at the ready with answers to our questions throughout our stay. The building is within walking distance of many tasty options. Why within the very same building there is a great wine shop. We never ate at the same place twice. Our first day we took a stroll to the beach and with tips from our host found the easiest path there. Not only would we recommend this property but we are wondering how quickly we can go back ourselves.
