Google 'Isla's Will' for more photos. Your ideal vacation home sits at the end of an upscale year round private association neighborhood; Watkins Shore. Bordering Thomas Pond in Casco Maine, this property has an unique location abutting 15 acres of owner owned conservation land (woods, marsh, swamp and stream) that will evoke childhood memories of summer camp. Property encompasses 100 feet of direct waterfront, with an additional 500 feet of marshland and an additional 400 feet of shared waterfront with other road owners via ROWs to the water that include beach and picnic tables.

While very private, the location is not remote. Gift shops and local winery are 2 miles away; Windham's Fun Park, Movie Theater and Mall are 15 minutes in one direction and Naples with a game arcade, miniature golf and water sports is 15 minutes in the other direction.

This year round cottage could not be duplicated today being 20 feet from the water's edge. It features water views from most rooms and sleeps 6+ ($100 more per person over 6). Queen bed in master bedroom, twin beds in loft, bunk beds in first floor bedroom, double bed down, single up.

Gourmet galley kitchen fully outfitted (food processor, dish washer, microwave, 2 lobster pots, blender, waffle maker etc) has Pergo floors and hand painted tile backsplash. Thomas Pond covers 442 acres and has a maximum depth of 64 feet. Very quiet and private; a 30 second walk through the woods brings you to a quiet shallow and sandy cove, just for a change in venue from your own waterfront. The surface temperature of the water in the summer is 78 degrees. There are 14 different kinds of fish living in the pond including: Brook and Brown trout, white and yellow perch as well as bass. In 1989, the largest smallmouth bass ever caught in Maine came from Thomas Pond. In the morning you can see the fish from your bedroom window.

There is a 30’ dock for fishing and a swim float for lounging. Sandy shallow entry via 3 stairs with rail for unsteady children and older adults. 2 kayaks and a canoe are provided for exploring the marsh, a tiny island and a larger island right next to property. Loons, turtles and ducks will be your constant water companions.

This home was everything that was promised and more.Coffee @ sunrise on the front deck listening to nothing but the birds chirping, the call of loons, and your thoughts.I left the camp only once all week to get gas for my boat and a few grocerys,A walking trail made for several scenic walks ,even saw a deer and a couple turkeys one afternoon while walking. It is very well mantained and the herb garden provided a nice touch to several meals.BUT my baby is fishing, this is my second summer stay and the fishing is absolutely fantastic.A friend and I found several hotspots and were treated to 3 and 4lb smallmouth and largemouth bass all week and a few large pickerel a fishermans paradise

Isla's Will is an absolutely wonderful cottage in a quiet, relaxing location. The owner is excellent to work with and communication is awesome. Our family of four rented this cottage in 2010, 2011, and is coming back in 2012. The Thomas Pond area does not feel like a bustling tourist town which suits our family quite well. The dead-end location is excellent, great for small kids, no cars driving by. Although there are boats and some jet-skis on the pond, it's minimal, preserving the desired private and low-key character. The cottage has a grassy yard, and the adjacent woods keeps the yard and house cool. We can easily park two cars in the driveway. Inside the cottage, there's plenty of space for four. My in-laws also visited a few nights last year and six people was very comfortable. Two bathrooms makes a big difference to us. The kitchen has everything a cook could need --I've not found it lacking anything. The entrance hosts a washer/dryer behind folding doors and space for our tote bags of beach towels, shoes, etc. The master bedroom is private with a nice lake view. Love the back deck to read in the Adirondack chairs! Our two teenagers love the kayaks, and we are comfortable with them exploring out on their own. The floating raft is great for older kids to jump and dive off—we use it a ton. We can fish right off the dock. We bring a couple of tire tubes that are fun for floating and there's room under the back deck to store these and other toys. When not at the cottage, we take day trips to Portland, Old Orchard Beach, Popham Beach, and Freeport, to name a few. In the past we have been ocean-goers; this location allows us to enjoy the best of both worlds. As a reference, Portland is 35-40 minutes away, great for fabulous restaurants and cool boutiques/shops. Portland also has chain restaurants and a mall. Hiking is not too far away near Freeport: Bradbury Mountain and Wolfe's Neck Woods, where you can see ospreys from the rocky shore trails. Maine Wildlife Park is in Gray (about 25 minutes) featuring native-Maine animals and birds. Locally, there are chain grocery stores in Raymond, about 7 miles away. Our favorite local restaurant is Buck's Naked BBQ in Windham, and #1 for ice cream is the Mosquito. We also like Seacoast Fun Park for mini-golf and go-karts; more mini-golf in Naples. I can't say enough about the location, cottage, owners, and pond. I highly recommend it for a relaxing, low-key vacation.

Isla's Will has something for everyone. My family of 4 - two children ages 2 and 8 had a wonderful time at the lovely cottage, The house was nicely appointed and the grounds were fabulous - beautiful, but naturalistic, gardens, decks and paths. The pics on the VRBO site do not do the house justice, it is very nicely maintained, yet family friendly. The large kitchen, with dishwasher, made meals very easy. The house has great views of Thomas Pond from all the common rooms and the master bedroom. The property is so comfortable that we cancelled some of our day trips. We were on/in Thomas Pond every day - fishing, swimming and kayaking. The surrounding towns had a good mix of familiar amenities (grocery stores, family friendly restaurants, phamacies,..) and vacation specialities (i.e. lobster and seafood stores, great ice cream at the Mosquito, and boat rentals). We took a quick trip to Portland to see the lighthouses, and I did some shopping in Freeport, both < 1 h away. Great time - wish we could have stayed for 2 weeks.

We stayed here for a third time this year. The cottage combines the beauty of the nature and lake with all the comforts of a home. We enjoyed home cooked breakfast, explored local restaurants for lunch and occasionally barbequed on the patio for dinner. Cottage has a fully stocked kitchen, TV, movie collection, table game, canoes and more. Around the corner there is a winery offering free wine tastings. 5 minutes away is a Golf course.

About the owner: We are avid cooks, gardeners and readers which the cottage reflects. Our intent was to create an atmosphere less hotel chic and more cozy bed and breakfast. Rooms display original oil paintings and whimsy. Every care was given to ensure that your vacation will be a dream vacation.

Why the Owner Chose Thomas Pond:
My husband went to camp in this area and has fond memories of his summers here. We sent our son to camp on Panther Pond. This location is a gem and we bought it on the spot - not setting a foot off the property until a P&S was signed. For privacy and convenience in this area, it has no peer. The cottage is named Isla's Will and can be seen on you tube by typing in that name. Interior shots available.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Sunrises and mist rising off the lake make for a magical moment. The call of the loons throughout the day remind you of the beauty of nature, tranquility and simplicity. The smell of the pine forest is the best aromatherapy that I know of. House is 20 feet from lake which can not be duplicated with today's environmental laws. 15 acres of walking trails will not be found in any other listing on vrbo and ensures a private vacation experience.
