Porch great for hanging out and for eating in, as is large living room area that forms "great room" with dining and kitchen area. Stone fireplace in living room and stone outdoor Adirondack barbecue pit.
Steps lead to shallow swim area. 18-foot private dock. Two canoes provided. River navigable into nine-mile-long Schroon Lake. Public launch nearby.
Five minutes from Northway (I-87) Exit 25. Four miles south of Schroon Lake. 20 minutes to Lake George Village. 25 minutes to Gore Mountain. 10-15 minutes to other smaller ski areas. 25 minutes to 50+ factory outlet stores. 40 minutes to Saratoga.
One well-behaved dog is welcome, but no cats (sorry, we have allergies).

Vacation was a fun week with our family and dogs. The house was just as the owner described it and the property was well maintained and clean inside. We found that with 5 adults, it was a bit cramped, so sleeping 8 would mean lots of kids! Storage in the kitchen was sparse. However, the location was fabulous and the amenities plentiful. Private road to walk the dogs was awesome exercise. Saw a deer in the woods, too! Had great fun on the river kayaking, boating and fishing out to the large lake. Beautiful, peaceful vista. All-in-all, a good choice.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.
