  This property is perfect for a family. The pictures were accurate (I have seen some that were completely different from when photos were taken - NOT these). There is a great enclosed porch and a clean, spacious dock/deck. If you have young children who cannot swim, the dock could be something to discuss with Scott. Scott is very prompt in returning emails. There are tons of additional amenities in the house that I didn't expect from other rentals I have been in. There are great family/childrens' games, Legos, books (children's and adult), food items in the pantry, any kitchen tools you could possibly need, and very clean appliances including the washer/dryer. The single bathroom has everything you would expect/need, but is quite small. The location is close to one of the best beaches I've visited with children, a few excellent restaurants, ice cream stand, small grocery store, and some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. More commercial stores/restaurants are about 15-20 minutes away at most. We have a boat and used the dock very easily. The bay is a beautiful spot to spend mornings and evenings and in the late July/early August week was never crowded. I cannot say enough! We were very pleased with this house and overall with the area, and would definitely reserve again.

  My family and I stayed here from July 16 to July 23, 2011 and enjoyed every minute of it. We love this cottage very much. There were 4 of us (me, my husband, my 16-yr old daughter and her friend) and we all agreed it is like being on a very spacious and clean houseboat / beach house with all the comforts of home. The minute we walked in, my teenage daughter's eyes lit up: "Wow, mom!" - If you have teenagers, you know this is a very very good compliment indeed. There are 3 spacious bedrooms in this 2-storey cottage with air conditioning on both floors. The entire cottage is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. If you are spending time indoors, there are plenty of books, magazines, games, DVDs / VHS tapes, as well as Satellite radio and TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make meals - just bring your own groceries (IGA Grocery is a 15-min drive from the cottage). A grill right out the front door ensures your BBQ enthusiasts can cook to their heart's delight. We spent most of our time relaxing on the deck and swimming in the clean bay... literally right out of the cottage's porch. The location is perfect; right on Little Sodus Bay, breathtaking views of sunrise, sunset, and waterfront living in all its glory. Some houses around the bay are perched on a little hill, this one has the privilege of being right on the water - much preferred by us! If you're lucky, there are two ducks who will make friends with you and hang out during your stay; the baby ducks visited us on Day 1. They just stay right on the deck and swimming in the bay along with the many fish that just hang out in the water right by the cottage's deck. If you're inclined to feed them, do so with some bread. My husband and I love nature and animals and we grew quite attached to our little duck friends.... spectacular experience! The best part of the experience is my dealings with Scott, the cottage's owner. He is so helpful and always prompt to answer my millions of questions. His family uses the cottage for their vacations and keeps it impeccably clean and comfortable. Kudos and many thanks to Scott for being a professional and honourable man. If you are lucky enough to find this cottage, guaranteed you will enjoy every minute of staying here, just as we have.

  we have been enjoying our vacation for many years at this cabin and every year it gets better. scott and dana are always upgrading to make the cabin even nicer. they are wonderful landlords. we love being there as guests and have a great time each time we visit. the best ice cream ever is within walking distance just ask arsen and barbara. another happy tenant and our dear friends and neighbors.

  Wonderful place to vacation!! Outdoor enthusiasts will especially love all that there is to do around Fair Haven: boating, swimming, hiking, fishing and rock collecting are just a few! My family loved staying there! It is such an exceptional value! Oh, and stop by the cookie shop right across the street!!

  What a great little house! It feels like I'm on a house boat without the sea- sickness :). Awesome back deck for soaking up some sun, fishing, or feeding ducks.......boat rentals 5 minutes away, beach, playground, I could go on and on! It's not just a cozy cabin right on the water, it's peacefulness and simplicity with all the modern conveniences. We always feel so rested when we come back home! Thanks for allowing us to have this wonderful memory every year Scott and Dana!
