Stylish New Townhouse - Aix City Centre

- Wheel chair accessible:No
Why should you stay here?
LOCATION, STUNNING, and IMMACULATE – not your usual rental property!
It is a perfect home away from home. These pictures do not do justice!
You cannot find a better location in the center of Aix.
It is situated in the heart of Aix in a prestigious area where nobles once lived – Quartier Mazarin.
It is only 2 minute walk to Cours Mirabeau (main Blvd.) yet Quartier Mazarin (and especially my street) remains very quiet and tranquil so you can leave the busy restaurants, markets and shops and relax in peace.
This charming cozy townhouse was an old stable 200+ years ago. It is now a small two bedroom, two story townhouse with lots of old charm exterior with stylish modern interior.
As you enter from the street there is a little sitting room, in the middle, under the stairs is a W.C. and the far side of the house is the kitchenette (fully equipped) with a dining area.
On the 2nd floor, there are two small bedrooms – one facing the street has a double bed and the other bedroom with a single bed. In between the two bedrooms is a shower with a sink.
All newly rebuilt to a modern stylish taste with quality in mind.
It is a perfect urban get away for a couple or a business person wanting a comfort of a cozy home rather than staying at a hotel!!
Unlike other rental properties, you will find basic necessities such as dishwashing soap, detergent, paper towel, sugar, salt, black pepper, olive oil etc. well stocked. We want you to relax and enjoy your stay rather than having to run to the supermarket as soon as you arrive.
Please note: Due to quite steep stairs (please see picture), it is not suitable for children or anyone with limited mobility.

This appealing rental provided us a wonderful five-day stay in early May 2013. We adored everything about the rental, the location was perfect, the property was immaculate and uncluttered, bed and furniture were comfortable, very nice appliances and the shower was great too. The stairs mentioned in other reviews were not a problem, even after a wonderful French dinner and wine. ? We highly recommended a visit to Aix and this rental.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Our five night stay in Aix en Provence at this townhouse was wonderful. The owner was available before, during, and after our stay to answer any and all questions we had concerning our visit to Aix en Provence! and our stay in the apartment. The location is perfect for walking to everything including the neighborhood shops, church, and markets, but is away from the hustle and bustle therefore providing a quiet refuge to return to after a busy day. The entire townhouse has been prepared with every amenity to make you feel like you are in a home, not a rental! We hope to return someday and will recommend to our friends and family.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We stayed recently at Petite Maison with our teenager daughter. This apartment was perfect for our stay in Aix and for exploring the surrounding area. We had a rental car which we had to park nearby. The owner was extremely helpful for giving us tips about car parking and for feeding money into the meters. We also found an underground car park which was convenient to the apartment. The accomodation was exactly as depicted on the website, from the photos and from other reviews we had read. Although the steep staircase was not a problem for us I can see it would be a bit daunting for older people and children. We found the folder of information about how to use appliances, nearby shops for food, eating out, etc, very useful. The owner was easily accessible by email or phone and was able to sort out an extra bath towel for us when we had only been left two. The apartment had everything we needed and was very quiet at night. We stayed for over a week which enabled us to explore Aix thoroughly on foot and the surrounding countryside by car. Thank you so much Kyoung for letting us stay in your wonderful apartment!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My adult daughter and I spent 5 nights at this terrific townhome. The modern/clean decor was so delightful inside with the beautiful old surroundings outside. The entire apartment is immaculate; the kitchen is extremely well-equiped; the beds had wonderful crisp white duvets and linens. The owner left very clear, good directions in English on how everything worked. The owner was lovely to work with, and always very easy to contact. Upon arriving, the French housekeeper was there - loved she only spoke French which we pretty well understood, but she was very animated and could even show a non-speaker how to lock door, etc. The location, in my opinion, could not be better - it's in the old town, yet a couple of mintues to walk to a parking lot where we kept the car which is not in the old town, which is very helpful because it is difficult driving in the old area. I highly recommend this place and hope to return very soon. I felt as if I were staying in a friend's home. The stairs are steep, so it wouldn't be great for persons having difficulty with walking - but was great for us.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Our one week stay in Aix was wonderful and the townhome was perfect for our needs. It had everything we needed as promised on the website profile, was very clean, modern and well maintained. Fatima, the local housekeeper, met us on arrival as Kyoung had promised and while her English was limited, it really was not a problem and we settled in nicely. The location was perfect, less than a 10 minute walk to Cours Mirabeau and the popular Museum Granet just around the corner beside the big church. Kyoung, the owner, was very accommodating, quick to respond to our emails and he always made sure we had what we needed to help make our stay memorable for a long time. We definitely would consider another stay and will recommend a stay here to our friends and family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We couldn't have been more pleased with our rental! A charming location right in the middle of Aix with everything we needed for cooking our meals and relaxing after walking all over the town. Very clean, modern and equipped with everything described in the listing. The stairs would be an issue for anyone unsteady on their feet or small children but otherwise we can recommend this property to anyone. The owner was very responsive to our needs.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Three of us stayed in this wonderful townhouse 18-22 Nov 2011 and loved EVERYTHING about it. It is not only IKEA-fabulous, but very comfortable (with all of the accomodations you could ask for) - the BEST location in old Aix on a quiet street - a very helpful owner - and all at a great price. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The housekeeper (Fatima) met us upon arrival and was as sweet as she could be. It didn't matter that our French was awful, we communicated and laughed and laughed. The owner also gave us a choice of paying in dollars or euros, which was very generous too. Thanks for a wonderful stay.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This little townhouse in Aix was the perfect spot for my one week conference. It was ingeneously decorated and designed, the kitchen was compact but convenient, the heaters and airconditioner all worked. It was also quiet. There was a very nice view from the front bedroom upstairs. It's amazing what can be done in such a small space without feeling cluttered. My colleagues all stayed in dingy, tiny hotel rooms on noisy streets for essentially the same price. But maybe the nicest thing about the stay was the helpful friendliness of the owner. She gave me advice, answered questions, and was always available -- before and during the stay. My only concern about this delightful place was the possibility of falling down the stairs at night. The stairs are steep and there is no rail or gate to prevent a jet-lagged person from staggering into the stairwell!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

This is an excellent apartment in a great location. The unit is modern, well-designed and very clean. The description and photos are accurate and we found the owner very helpful and accomodating. We stayed in Aix for about 6 days and didn't bother to rent a car. We walked, took in the markets, did a wine tour booked through the Tourism Office and just soaked up the culture (and the food!). We also cooked several meals at home and the kitchen is well appointed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such great review. Please do come back and stay with us and I will be sure to give you a nice discount. Regards. Kyoung

The place feels like home. Updated with all the conveniences it is a perfect little place to start and end the day. My wife and I have stayed in many VRBO apartments and this one ranks at the top. The stairs are steep but were not a problem for us. They could be for young kids or people with mobility issues. That said, it is the perfect home base if you're looking to explore Aix. Le cours Mirabeau is only a few blocks away, the Musee Granet just a few steps away (if exploring the life of Cezanne is on your itinerary). We rented a car so we could explore other parts of Provence. Parking can be a little tricky. If you're lucky, you can find a spot on the street nearby (we did). If not, there are parking garages nearby. The owner was very helpful with this and all our other questions. The more you talk to Kyoung the more he feels like a friend. We'll be back.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We vacationed in Aix in 1991 and ended up moving here in 2001, from San Francisco. What we found was the ultimate 'French experience' and change of life - in more than one sense!! We learned French and made some great friends in this international town, which has all the glamour of Paris - without the hassle.
Why the Owner Chose Aix en Provence:
I fell in love with the location and the property so I renovated it to my taste as though I was going to live there. I was called to England so I find myself using the property less and less. With much encouragement from a friend, I have decided to rent out my beloved little jewel.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The property is in the heart of a prestigious area called Quartier Mazarin. It is very rare to find a free standing house in this chic area of Aix. It is only 2 minutes walk from Cours Mirabeau, Rue d'Italie and Musee Granet is right around the corner. The minute you step outside you are in the Center of Aix where you can breath in the culture, architecture and mouth watering food.
